Yeah the challenge on them it's to maintain speed, especially in corners. It's definitely made me better at doing so. I've still got a lot of bad habits when riding 😂 I have a other bike, 600rr and this is definitely harder to ride I feel. But I think it's because I rely on the RR having more power and generally being quicker. If you get the wrong gear on the CB or you let your corner speed drop, the rest of the racers are gone and it's hard to catch them up again. I kind of wish I learned to ride this bike first on track before getting on the RR. I think it would have made me a much better rider.

The camera angle when you did the Radiator caught me out, I thought the forks were bent 🤦🏼♂️ Cracking vid though mate, i want to do the same soon as i can.

Hi, I am interested in why the thermostat was left out, could the bike not overcool itself now? Or maybe you are thinking best to overcool than overheat? Cheers, Steve
People tend to leave them out for racing as the bike will run hot anyway as it's ridden hard. We have to keep an eye on the temperature to make sure they don't over heat. So the thermostat doesn't really do much for that issue so we just take them out. Basically anything that can be stripped off the bike, that isn't used. I have to keep an eye on the temperature guage on the dash to make sure it's not getting way too hot, usually when stood still for a while. There's no fan either on the bike. On a road bike I'd leave it all on. 👍
Hey. Cheers mate. It's a Haynes manual. Just gives you all the detail on the bike, torque settings etc.. it's handy to check things. You can get them on ebay 👍
We can't change the front forks, we can only adjust the oil and air gap inside or put a stiffer spring inside. You basically change the oil thickness and the air gap to adjust the amount of damping it gives. On the rear shock I've got Hagon slimline shocks. Again, they are pretty strict on what we can use for racing with, but they are a big upgrade on the standard shocks. You can get them from SF Parts website 👍 I'll be doing a video on the fork rebuild so you'll be able to see how I set it up. I'll also show my shocks too. Cheers for the comment 👍
Excellent video 👍 I've done the whole engine out re-paint, carbs ultrasonic clean, forks etc and put back together 2 years ago. Just done a track day at Oulton Park on street triple so now wondering whether to race prep the cb500 🤔. Looking forward to the next videos 👍

Fantastic that some people do not appreciate nice bikes. If building something for your self why not start with a wreck and leave old examples to people that undertsand.
Hi. Yeah it was in good condition. Bought it to ride on the road, then decided to start racing. Theres loads of nice examples of these out there, and I wanted a good one to build from. Less issues that way. A lot of the old ones, are very rusty. Each to their own isn't it 👍

@@SuggyRacing The CB lets you explore the limits without going stupid fast . I had a VFR 400 NC30 once , that bike taught me a lot about cornering .

It's a number board from HWW racing. I then added a kosso temperature guage and a Dre shift light 👍
