Bonus: Misfits. Yes, they are not metal, but i'm sure, every metalhead love them.
I agree, the graves albums definitely have a whole lot of metal influence, maybe the misfits could have had an honorable mention
We love punk
I feel like Helloween deserve an honorable mention
Yeah helloween, slayer, black sabbath, merciful Fate, venom, Creator, metal Church
Weird enough helloween is more fit for dnd than Halloween
Helloween / Ghost / Misfits / Type O Negative / Immortal / Behemoth / Cradle OF Filth / Gwar / Turisas / Lordi / Watain / FastWay / Kiss / The Black Dahlia Murder / Dokken
Oh nice! Fast way!
I do not really have a Halloween playlist but I would add Blackbriar, they are a symphonic gothic metal band that sing about myths, witches and have a lot of spooky songs. Their spookiest song with atmosphere has to be Bloody Footprints in the Snow, Arms Of The Ocean is a classic. They have a song about creatures from Dutch mythology based on a real story as well which is Fairy Of The Bog. The trilogy of songs about a woman getting accused of witchcraft is a classic: Confess, Weakness and Lust and I'd Rather Burn. And there is a song about laying dead in the alps as the birds peck out your eyes Deadly Diminuendo. I like them a reasonable amount, totally.
Killer list. For me, it’s not Halloween until I listen to tons of Acid Witch
YES thank you, someone else knows of Acid Witch. They literally call themselves Halloween Metal. Witchtanic Hellucinations and Stoned are perfect candidates for spooky/scary moods. spent many nights outside with my headphones blarring Witchtanic, and more often than not, I'd be completely sketched out before Beastly Brew comes on. Amazing stuff man.
I First listed to Cradle of Filth when I was a teen and I bloody loved them.
This video was scientifically proven to improve your Halloween and life. Hilarious stuff here and perfect ideas for the spooky season. Your videos are the treats.
Almost all of these bands are in my halloween playlist, but other bands on my playlist include
Ice Nine Kills
Motionless in White
Dark Funeral
Ghost
Iron Maiden
Avenged Sevenfold
Dead Things
Grave Digger
Slayer
Whitechapel
and more.
Check out the band "Tartaros" any album it doesn't matter. It's probably the closest thing to actual Halloween music that I have ever heard.
Hahaa I love this! Not only are these bands great but this was hella funny. And yeah every Halloween and most days in general I listen to king diamond/mercyful fate.
Killer List. Some of the bands I play on Halloween when the trick or treating begins....Arkhon Infaustus, Mortician, Possessed, Death, Slayer, and Deicide. Kool video. Thanx for posting it.
I go for the spookier sounding bands on Halloween, Tartaros, Blut Aus Nord, Leviathan, Deathspell Omega, Gloomy Grim, etc. Mortician is a good one though. Not exactly spooky but brutal and Halloween sounding nonetheless.
Candle mass,hell,yes
While I don't party like I used to, I do like to sit out on Halloween night and hand out candy to the kids, but I usually have my stereo system (i.e. my phone linked to a Bluetooth speaker) and play them some classic metal. Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost, Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, King Diamond, Megadeth, Merciful Fate, Metallica, Ozzy, Slayer, Testament, and Venom. And it always puts a smile on my face when I see the little ones getting into whatever the playlist is randomly playing at the time, I even believe I have seen a 20% uptick in metal t-shirts on them when I drive the school bus stops on the way to work in the morning since I started this some years ago.
Really liked the video Wyatt. As a video idea, you should do one similar to your gig guide however it goes over the budgeting of a festival and the expenses. Many times, I've overlooked things and it makes for a nightmare of a trip.
Great idea!
For the folks missing TypeO, the spirit is kept alive by A Pale Horse Named Death.
October Noir
Now if you want some reallly dark and terrifying shit try bands like Portal, Blut Aus Nord, Imperial Triumphant and Abyssal. Also Ulcerate and Gorguts.
also, good on you for including King Diamond. He should be no. 1, but okay, rob zombie is good too. .
Helloween with the song Halloween woooo
“Type of Negative”. I guess that was a…Type-O. 🤪
Hit the nail on the head with this one. Got to see Cradle at one of my local venues a couple weeks ago, and it couldn't have been more perfect for Halloween. I appreciate the Powerwolf love too, so much fun
Love this list. The only band I’d add is Carach Angren.
It's black metal season! I'm on darkthrone, dimmu, mgla, dark funeral, and walknut to keep the vibes right
Lordi, Halloween, Gwar, Carach Angren, Burning Witches, Dimmu Borgir....
Carach Argren are a great choice
For me The Vision Bleak is a perfect band for Halloween (especially their debut album The Deathship has A New Captain).
Van Helsing's Curse was Dee Snider's attempt to make a Halloween version of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They only made one album, but it's really good and worth tracking down.
TON is the most underrated band ever hands down
i belive that neurosis albums "enemy of the sun" and "through silver in blood" would be great halloween type albums.
Overkill, Testament, Megadeth and Exodus
King Diamond gets spins from me all times of the year, probably because both Mercyful and King Diamond are easily my all time favorite bands. But every Halloween, I end up listening to Them, Abigail, Don't Break The Oath, and Melissa all day, all the way through, no skips.🤘🤘
ALSO, how did Acid Witch's Witchtanic Hellucination not have a single mention? 🤣😂 Everyone should definitely check that record out during spooky season.
Rob zombie is like Alice cooper turned up too 11 and they both performed together in Toronto last year
My go to Heavy Metal Halloween album: RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL / ALICE COOPER.
Rob Zombie is from my homestate of Massachusetts. How could he not be influenced by Halloween? Salem is very close to his hometown.
First time I was Cannibal Corpse live was on Halloween night in 2009, And me and mates ran around in the pit covered in fake blood.
Cool,job
"number 5; type o negative" YESSSSS "all the women just cheered" FUUUCK
IT SCARED ME BRUH I THOUGHT HE HEARD ME
Fuck helloween, go with the "Detroit Heavy Metal Horror Show" Halloween. Their biggest song was even called Trick or Treat. Sleazy hair metal like Lizzy Borden. Their debut Don't Metal With Evil is a classic
I'm from Detroit and HallOweeN are awesome. "Dont Metal With Evil", "Busted", and "Tales from the Crypt" are killer songs too. Met the singer Brian and bassist George....incredible guys.
Pig destroyer deserves a mention!
Hey :D whats the perfect Album for Beginners with Type O Negative?
Either Bloody Kisses or October Rust.
My additions:
Thorns
Gloomy Grim
Ninnghizhidda
Diabolical Masquerade
Anorexia Nervosa
Here’s more: Helloween,Halloween(Detroit),Hallow’s Eve,Impaler,Lizzy Borden,Misfits,The Cramps,45 Grave,Ozzy,Slayer,KISS,GWAR,Green Jello, Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black,Genitorturers,The Great Kat,
bru no acid witch??? they're like THE Halloween band
GWAR!!!
Acid Witch
Alice Cooper got told his stage show was cool by groucho marx. That's fuckin metal
Blood ceremony is a great choice. Psych/occult/70's horror metal with flute. One of the funnest halloween's i've ever had was chilling after a punk/grindcore house show listening to them with the people who stayed at the house dressed as satanic care bears, while handing out candy to the kids.
Behemoth do a great cover of a Killing Joke tune Total Invasion
I would have included lordi, even though it is more hard rock. But so is mr Cooper.
No Opeth?
I'm thinking of Ghost of Perdition and The Leper Affinity.😅😮😮😢🎉
ACID WITCH 😭
No Helloween?
Not really metal. But it doesn't feel like halloween without some Misfits.
I also have to hear Pet Semetary by the Ramones.
10. Bloodbath
9. Opeth
8. Ghost
7. Alice cooper
6. Rob zombie
5. Kiss
4. Slipknot
3. Behemoth
2. Death
Honorable mentions:
Helloween
Halloween
Twin temple
Venom
Mayhem
Dark funeral
Slayer
Iron Maiden
King diamond
Slaughter to prevail
1. Ice nine kills
Where is Ice nine Kills ?
I would add DIMMU BORGIR AND ROTTING CHRIST TO THE TOP
The 69 Eyes
Type “Of” Negative?
Typo Negative
No love for Slipknot? Or Marilyn Manson?
manson gets no love these days sadly
Oranssi Pazuzu to freak people out
Haunted garage
No Danzig?
Oderus is missing, we'll see if you even mention GWAR.
How did you not put acid with in here… their whole thing is Halloween could’ve easily swapped Alice cooper with them given cooper isn’t even a metal group
Deceased : Fearless Undead Machines
how DA FVKK do you NOT include THE MISFITS or SAMHAIN.......or FVKKN SLAYER???
Ice nine kills
Danzig not being on the list is crazy, also these bands would look so soft if you include Black Metal😂
Wait… king diamond is supposed to be scary??
Found it creepy and spooky but never scary. If you want to hear something freaky check out Gnaw Their Tongues or Psypheria.
Wait! You know virgins?!
I dont care how influential they are in the metal scene, Venom is not a hard core band by any stretch of the imagination. Thier sound is just a hair heavier than Motley Crue and they definitely aren't "black metal" even if they did co-oin the term. They influenced the look and attitude for sure, but the sound, not so much.
thanx so much by not putting ghost on ur list
Acid Witch
