- It can be hard to tell what old designs look like sometimes because the photos are usually poor quality and some of them are even in black and white, but I knew when I saw this Carolina Square pattern that it was something special!
Let’s make the old new again with this vintage pattern refresh. I dusted off this old design and breathed new life into it with a bold color scheme and detailed written instructions. This little square is so much fun to crochet and it really packs a big visual impact.
This is a vintage pattern found in “Bedspreads and Tablecloths | Book No. 301
Cute little crochet squares like this one are great for making blankets, tablecloths, table runners, throw pillows, wraps, scarves, and more! What will you use your Carolina Squares to create?

Fabulous!!! I love the idea of vintage crochet patterns. I have lots of vintage crochet books. I started crocheting when I was 8 yrs old. So that's 58 yrs ago! Thx so much.

I found this totally by accident. I love it! It’s great especially for a vintage home.
Wow for s 70 year old pattern I'm impressed!
So was I!
@@LittlejohnsYarn like this is something you never expected to find at all. Man the older generations (like 70+ years ago) had good ideas and we can modernize them!
I can't wait until I retire! Lol....This is beautiful.
Thank you
I can see where this would be beautiful in thread, but it would be a labor of love as a bedspread!
Super! I like it!!! Thank you!!!👍🤗🌺🌺🌺
Beautiful vintage look color choices pop excited to try it would make a beautiful Afghan.
Thank you so much for taking 1 for the team and updating a vintage pattern cause I gave up trying to decipher them years ago 😂. I can't wait to make a Christmas blanket with this tutorial. Thank you so much!!!
I love this square. I've made up two in worsted weight yarn and I'm experimenting with needle size. Love love love it! Thank you for sharing this vintage pattern, modernizing the instructions, and making it so simple to follow along with you on the tutorial. 😀
True, for me the old instructions on patterns (on the books) is hard to understand. Thank you for making this vid.🥰
Oh, this pattern is lovely. Thank you for taking the time to make it more understandable. I have looked at old crochet books and the written patterns aren't always easy to understand.
Vintage patterns are very hard. They can have a full crochet wedding dress written in a tiny paragraph 😂
I like this , have saved it for later. When I can focus on it. I had a stroke so, I can only focus on one project at a time especially if if something i am not use to. And, I am working on a shawl right now. Thank you for bringing back the vintage patterns
I"m so sorry to hear about your stroke. It is so easy to find new patterns to distract yourself, lol.
@@LittlejohnsYarn yes, I had my stroke in 2015, at which time I h ad to rehab and when I went to crochet sadly I couldn't even remember how to make a magic circle. I thought I would never crochet again. Then I found the yarny community and tutorials back in February on UA-cam and I am back in the game. But, my thought process i set was it use to be I would have thought of it sooner.
Think I’ll make this in bright colors for my granddaughters bed

A magic ring at the start might be easier then a chain circle
You're right. I was afraid it might come apart afterwards, but one stitch would easily fix that.
Благодарю!
This is beautiful🥰 also thank you for introducing me to another new website💕 just went to take a look and found some beautiful crochet doll dresses that I would love to make🥰. This granny square would look really nice as a pillow💕 my brothers dog keeps eating his pillows so I think I’m gonna make this into a pillow for him💕
They have so many cool patterns!!!
😁👍
Christmas place mat.
I was thinking about a gingerbread house. Cardboard to hold the shape!
That would be cool.
What is your method of joining? this is lovely
I wonder if you can use a magic ring??
You can just make sure you sew it closed when done. There are so many stitches, it might unravel with a magic ring.
What is the brand name of your crochet hook? It looks like something I would love to have in my tools.
What size crochet hook are you using?
