As a fan of the series, you analyzing that much isn't a bother but something flattering. Also It really makes it feel like you're having a good time and not just wanting to get this over with lol
It's right. That is, what would be the point of seeing a reaction if we only saw someone looking at the screen without giving an opinion or comment on what they are seeing?
Not about Jojo, but the second to last ED (Distant Dreamer) hit pretty hard when I realised that I knew that voice. For context, the singer, Duffy, has had a pretty rough time of things. She grew up only a few miles away from where I live and we all watched her rise to fame on Britain's got Talent. Such a distinctive voice. It was a bit of a shock because I realised I hadn't heard that voice in YEARS. Really fitting for that part of the story too.

When you watch the show, there are 2 versions. The original broadcast version censors out a lot of the gore, and the uncensored version was originally released on blu ray. Some streaming sites use the censored versions and others don't, and it's not really consistent Netflix has parts 1, 2, and 6 uncensored. For parts 3-5, there's no real consistency with what site has which version, but it's pretty obvious which version a site has within the first few episodes. If there's an unnatural black "shadow" covering what should be gore, it's probably censored

It’s generally recommended that the Subbed version is seen first, not because the dub is bad, it’s actually pretty damn good, but more because there’s a lot of really iconic moments and character quirks in japanese, so it’s much better for the first time experience.
Normally I don't prefer opening reactions with midway pauses, but between this and the JoJo openings, seeing you try to Sherlock Holmes your way through each detail was a blast. 😁 I don't know if this would help out with video editing but if you wanna catch up quick, you could binge Phantom Blood (Part 1) and do a super cut reaction to that. Or make a 2 parter. It's only 8 episodes I believe. You'll really like the series if you enjoy making predictions especially part 3 and onwards. A lot of what makes JoJo great is how unapologetic it is and despite how action packed it may appear, most of the fun comes from the mysteries and emotions.
When I first saw the one with the beach and the ocean I almost cried. If you read the manga seeing ocean waves together with this song is already enough.

Endings songs are picked by the author. Those were the songs the author was listening at the time when he draw the parts (starting from 1980's). Minus the 2 special joke endings
I'm so glad ppl have been explaining this. I got the general idea that it's a song from the time period each part takes place. But I remember hearing Freakin' You on the radio when it came out, and it was SO weird to hear it in the show lol.
If you like the characters singing their own opening/ending then you might enjoy the monogatari openings, almost every opening is performed by the Voice actor of the character the arc is focused on It's another somewhat longer series comprising of: bakemonogatari, kizumonogatari (kizu is a set of 3 movies), nisemonogatari, nekomonogatari kuro, nekomonogatari shiro, monogatari series second season, hanamonogatari, tsukimonogatari, owarimonogatari, koyomimonogatari, owarimonogatari season 2, and zoku owarimonogatari
I highly agree that you should view two episodes at once especially when you reach the second season aka part 3 since the battles are typically divided into two episodes... also luckyland is the name of Araki the authors personal studio.. and finally the creepy drawn endings are for episodes involving the Oingo Boingo brothers, one who can write manga that predicts the future
A lot of people like the sub because it's a first watch for many and it's very nostalgic.. and like most animes the japanese actors sell the overacting yelling more. though a lot of the most iconic line reads are japanese people struggling to dramatically yell english words, soo those exact iconic moments don't hit in the dub because the english actor can say the words just fine.. people love "ZA WORUDO" because it's a very odd and overacted way of yelling "the world" in english homeboy just yells "the world" because he's english, and the character is english, soo he's played with an english accent. Fights and screams come out more punchy in the japanese A lot of people like the Dub because the cast is stellar and it feels natural, most of the story arcs involve english speaking characters and settings (ffs part 6 takes place in florida) and like a lot of anime with well received dubs the english actors sell the more somber emotional tones better, it's very easy to resonate subtle emotions in the language you speak. dialog and dramatic moments come out more believable in the english.
In regards to your question of if you should watch the sub or dub, I would *heavily* recommend the sub. The dub is fine, but most of the super iconic moments in the show work *significantly* better with the subs.
33:15 OMG I'm so glad you caught that I swear I always thought I was the only one seeing that The first 2 were same song different parts outro Some outros change but only in details so they would add something over time ex 2nd outro was not the original to part 2 Please do not watch in dub you won't get any of the memes or the same feeling If you want you can try 1 sec of every episode (the original not the updated) And I suggest patreon but UA-cam doesn't copyright to much with jojo content not that I've seen anyway and I've seen tons of reactions to this
When you begin watching Jojo, try to find the uncensored/blue-ray version. The censored version has a very annoying black shadow that goes over gore and smoking (for some reason), so just watch out for that.
I like how you started saying that the outros must hide something in a screen that, people who understand, see that it shows how many people survive in that part
I am absolutely going to watch your journey during the show. It’s definitely a wild ride but once you look back at the first full picture you get it all makes sense
Bro watch the sub about 30 to 40 percent of the comedy in this show is the random english words the characters say while they're talking in japanesse it's so damn funny
the Oingo Boingo outros are extremely funny to me because the lyrics are literally explaining their abilities in 100% detail but he can't understand Japanese so it's just completely lost on him
The endings do actually have variations, with the first two showing the important characters of the episode it's been played in and sometimes changing the song to another version of "roundabout". In the 7th and 9th ending once a new character/stand gets introduced, it gets added along with the others to the ending. So I recommend you to not skip the endings.
if you do plan to watch the series I would recommend watching the Every musical references in JoJo's bizarre adventure by Hamon beat after each part. it primary goes through every musical reference in each part and is divide specifically by part it does occasionally part 4 specially talks a bit about part 5 but by then you'll already have started it so you should be good. hamon beat doesn't just stick to the anime though he does it also go through the references in the manga which are often not referenced in the anime itself. he does also do manga and anime differences for each part as well.
I can't wait for the reaction videos! I don't mind the pausing and the questioning personally I find it entertaining :D keep up the great work!! Edit: Please react to Holy Steel and Go Beyond if you haven't already. They are fanmade openings that were made for part 7 and 8 of jojos since they aren't animated yet. They are very well made!
I would say the pattern in the first one does tell info about a certain thing, but it's pretty hard to piece it together if you don't know what it's talking about and what is depicted
Oh and I’m not sure if this has been said already, but in the first two outros it is about the Aztecs, and then it goes more into Egypt on the third one.
Outtros don't tell much of a story. Intros do, but they are so out of context you won't understand. The theme of the first two intros is not Egyptian, but Aztec - hence blood sacrifice. Because the story of the first part revolves around an Aztec magic stone mask, and the second part - around the creators of these stone masks. Also, yeah, Part 2 takes place a few years before WWII, and there are Nahtzees involved. In Part 3, all Stands are called after tarot elder arcanes, hence the cards in the outtro. And Part 3 is the one that takes place on the way to and in Egypt. Also, the Oingo-Boingo/ Boingo- Hol Horse outtros do tell the story, and you got a bit of them correctly, and they indeed sing their own outtros. Also, it's not a she. It's a little boy named Boingo. 24:13 Yo, Angelo! 24:58 These are not the ghosts! But there will be one ghost girl. A benevolent one though. 25:57 It's just Grandpa JoJo taking care of the invisible baby girl. With makeup and sunglasses, to hide the fact she's invisible. 26:36 Araki just likes turtles. And frogs. And insects. And dogs. Dead ones. Also, you misserd the turtle in the third outtro of Part 5, the one with the hard to read statues.
oingo boingo endings STILL give me nightmares 😂😂. Now I REALLY want you to do a show reaction lmao (gives me another reason to rewatch the show 🤷🏽♀️) The person who recommended binging Part 1 and then editing it has the right idea! But whatever pacing works for you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I'm sure someone's bought it up before, but just in case, JoJo constantly references music through character and Stand names. So, depending on if you watch the official sub, they often change names to avoid copyright. So, while the subtitles might say a character is named Santviento, you'll hear the Japanese VA's say Santana, the character's actual name. Santana is a reference to the Musician Carlos Santana.
I feel you between dubs or subs. It depends on everyone. I used to watch sub mostly and few dubs. But now i just want to watch dubs because im tired of reading and i want to focus more on the scenes
its actually okay we actually love when someone analyze or breakdown it its more entertaining rather than just react and just yeah yeah wow great wow and then thats it you can pause as much as you want
Please, for the love of god, go with the sub! The way characters talk, how they sound, the engrish and the battlecries are iconic. You'd be losing a lot of Jojo's charm and bizarreness by going dub.
Fun fact about the outro songs: all of the songs were chosen by the author (araki) because these were what he listened to while writing the manga

Fights and screams come out more punchy in the japanese
A lot of people like the Dub because the cast is stellar and it feels natural, most of the story arcs involve english speaking characters and settings (ffs part 6 takes place in florida)
and like a lot of anime with well received dubs the english actors sell the more somber emotional tones better, it's very easy to resonate subtle emotions in the language you speak.
dialog and dramatic moments come out more believable in the english.
I love how Mattables is so close yet so far with his observations of the intros and outros
There also the 1 seconds from every episodes.....or 1 meme from every episodes.....but maybe yeah....start the anime.....
its time!
Lol watching him try to analyze the Oingo Boingo ed while having a breakdown (breakdown)
You're so happy and cheerful and you analysing everything i love it so much
Watching the oingo boingo ending made me notice I don't remember how Oingo really looks like
In regards to your question of if you should watch the sub or dub, I would *heavily* recommend the sub. The dub is fine, but most of the super iconic moments in the show work *significantly* better with the subs.
33:15 OMG I'm so glad you caught that I swear I always thought I was the only one seeing that
The first 2 were same song different parts outro
Some outros change but only in details so they would add something over time ex 2nd outro was not the original to part 2
Please do not watch in dub you won't get any of the memes or the same feeling
If you want you can try 1 sec of every episode (the original not the updated)
And I suggest patreon but UA-cam doesn't copyright to much with jojo content not that I've seen anyway and I've seen tons of reactions to this
Love these reaction videos! JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is one of my favourite Anime!
look at this man tryna make sense of the Oingo-Boingo endings
When you begin watching Jojo, try to find the uncensored/blue-ray version. The censored version has a very annoying black shadow that goes over gore and smoking (for some reason), so just watch out for that.
I like how you started saying that the outros must hide something in a screen that, people who understand, see that it shows how many people survive in that part
Watching people try to figure out the oingo boingo ending will never not bring me joy
oh god everytime he called mondatta "she" or said that the two oingo boingo outros were the next season i physically felt pain
2:48 Funnily enough, those were indeed Egiptians Gods but these things we see on the first ending is more an ancient Aztec civilization
I am absolutely going to watch your journey during the show. It’s definitely a wild ride but once you look back at the first full picture you get it all makes sense
Gotta love the oingo/hol horse boingo joke endings
If we told you everything you got right, that might take away the fun when you end up watching the show! 😈
OH YES JOJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
"Last train home" is a kind of closing that you can't understand until the end of the part 3.
Man, last train home still hits the same after the years T_T
The surprising thing is how so many ideas you have are absolutely right but not in the way you think.
Keep going
I would say the pattern in the first one does tell info about a certain thing, but it's pretty hard to piece it together if you don't know what it's talking about and what is depicted
I just LOVE the look of pure confusion when you watched Oingo and Boingo's outro lol
I love how you like the weird one. Which other reaction creator i watch they don't like it cause it's weird.
(I like it too btw)
FUNNY HOW HE GOT THE OINGO BOINGO BROTHERS ARC RIGHT
oingo boingo endings STILL give me nightmares 😂😂. Now I REALLY want you to do a show reaction lmao (gives me another reason to rewatch the show 🤷🏽♀️) The person who recommended binging Part 1 and then editing it has the right idea! But whatever pacing works for you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
"There's no way people are going to watch me for 52 minutes!"
We aren't watching you for 52 minutes; we're watching Jojo for 52 minutes.
I like how bro was astonished during the Oingo Boingo outro (the weird art style one)
You should do this same thing after watching the entire anime and see if you understand whats happening better
its actually okay
we actually love when someone analyze or breakdown it
its more entertaining rather than just react and just yeah yeah wow great wow and then thats it
you can pause as much as you want
32:20-32:44
In the background you can hear the melody "Oh Fortune" - Carmina Burana written by Carl Orff back in the 1930s
Idk if i should tell you abt those bullets you were talking abt but yeah thats the concept 🔥🔥
Please, for the love of god, go with the sub! The way characters talk, how they sound, the engrish and the battlecries are iconic. You'd be losing a lot of Jojo's charm and bizarreness by going dub.
I love your reaction dude!
The way that I cackled at your reaction to Oingo Boingo was amazing. 🤣
18:04 of course you pause on the 9/11 conspiracy scene lmao
trust me, watching this in sub will be worth it! there's scenes in this show that just don't land the same in dub..
26:37 ive watched JoJo's a ton and never noticed the turtle there lol
12:25 *plays the video
Me: instantly sobs
14:11 "-a very,, chill outro"
Me: sobs even more
