JoJo is an anthology series following members of the Joestar bloodline. Part 1 takes place in London in the late 1800's Part 2 takes place during WW2 Part 3 takes place in the late 1980's Part 4 takes place in Japan in 1999 Part 5 is Italy in 2001 Part 6 is Florida in 2011
if i could give a brief summary of each part of JoJo with as few spoilers as possible, it'd go a bit like this: PART 1: Phantom Blood (Op1) - The story of *Jonathan Joestar,* a 19th-Century Englishman who must overcome the raw evil of his adopted brother Dio Brando. An ancient Stone Mask which grants its user unbelievable powers turns Dio into an unstoppable vampiric force, able to raise the undead. Jonathan must master the Hamon (波紋, lit. Ripple) technique to even have a chance at defeating Dio. Though it sounds like a simple story, it's only the beginning of a much grander tale… PART 2: Battle Tendency (Op2) - In 1938, Jonathan’s grandson *Joseph Joestar* must use his own Hamon abilities to defeat the Pillar Men -- the original creators of the Stone Mask -- before they regain their dominance over all of humanity. PART 3: Stardust Crusaders (Op3, 4, and 4.5) - The year is 1988, and after a century-long slumber beneath the ocean, one man of incalculable power and influence has returned to enact revenge on the Joestar bloodline. *Jotaro Kujo,* Joseph’s grandson, must journey to Egypt to find and kill this monster within 50 days, lest his mother fall victim. This part brought about the introduction of Stands, the physical manifestation of one’s life energy and/or fighting spirit. From here on out, Hamon is phased out for the use of the Stand ability. PART 4: Diamond is Unbreakable (Op5, 6, 7, and 7.5) - *Josuke Higashikata* spends his Summer of 1999 in his small hometown of Morioh, helping Jotaro Kujo investigate a mysterious Arrow, and eventually working with him to uncover the identity of a ruthless serial killer lurking within the town. PART 5: Golden Wind/Vento Aureo (Op8, 9, 9.3, and 9.5) - Italy, 2001. *Giorno Giovanna,* descending from some crude mix of good and evil, takes it upon himself to infiltrate and deconstruct the mafia hierarchy in order to create an overall better society. PART 6: Stone Ocean (Op10, 11, and 11.5) - In 2011, *Jolyne Cujoh* is framed for murder and sent to Green Dolphin Street Prison in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Whitesnake, a mysterious Stand with an unknown user, arrives to take advantage of any and every vulnerability in her heart, as her father holds the secrets to reviving an ancient evil. PART 7: Steel Ball Run - A soft reboot of the franchise, bringing us back to 1890 in a "what if" scenario. In the United States of America, a cross-country horse race is being held with a grand prize of $50 Million for the winner. However, racers Gyro Zeppeli and *Johnny Joestar* are dead-set on uncovering the cruel truths behind the race’s organizers. They’ll need to maintain their top positions while fending off from various hired assassins. PART 8: JoJolion - In that same soft-reboot timeline of Part 7, a young man named *Josuke Higashikata* wakes up under a pile of rocks with no knowledge of himself. He must uncover who (and what) he truly is. Especially since his true identity seems to warrant a local crime syndicate putting a target on his back. PART 9: The JOJOLands - In modern-day Hawai’i, a young boy named *Jodio Joestar* aspires to become filthy rich by reaching the apex of this world’s mechanisms. As of writing this, The JOJOLands only has 19 chapters.

Basically, trying desperately, to not give away spoilers: The Anime itself is focused on a specific bloodline (The Joestar Bloodline) as it combats evil throughout generations. Season 1 (Phantom Blood) is a story of a boy and his adoptive brother in a tale of power, sorrow, and conflict. Season 2 (Battle Tendency) is a tale of a man dragged into a conflict by his hair against an ancient evil. Season 3 (Stardust Crusaders) is a journey across the globe that aims to settle an age old conflict in the Joestar Bloodline once and for all. Season 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable) is a murder mystery set in a seemingly quiet and peaceful town Season 5 (Golden Wind) is a the tale of how a smalltime con-artist becomes the leader of a seemingly international crime family. Season 6 (Stone Ocean) is a story surrounding a prison. That is all I will say here so as to avoid HEAVY spoiler territory.
