I spoke to Roger Moore once too. It was about 1976, I had just finished playing tennis with Hugh Hefner and Grace Jones when all of a sudden he popped out of a bush and handed us invitations to his lear jet party. It didn't last long, those planes are FAST!
He picked my mother who was hitchhiking with her huge Pyrenean mountain dog up in his convertible in Vence (south of France) in the early '80s. She said was a true gentleman.
@@adamgrimsley2900 Curious comment. Believe what you want. I dont care! All I know is she told me this many years ago and I have no reason to doubt her.
I lost my father when I was 15. I was left alone with my mother and all of Roger Moore's films and TV series... Roger was the father I never had... his films, his style, his culture saved my life... I lived and live following his style, his rules and his love and respect for life... thanks Dad Roger I think of you and I always see one of your films or TV series every day for over 40 years, God bless you P.S. I can't wait to see this wonderful documentary... where can I see it?
Will never forget as a 9 year old kid going to the cinema to watch The Spy Who Loved Me. It was the first movie I really remember and took in. Fabulous memory. I still love watching Roger on TV to this day.
My first introduction to James Bond was my late father taking his eight year old son to see The Spy Who Loved Me in the theatre, blown away ever since, Roger became my role model, dress well, have a great sense of humour and always take a pinch of salt at what life throws at you ❤
Roger Moore was my Bond, as a 55 year old I grew up with him as Bond. I got a job in France, outside Monaco. I met people who had jobs in Monaco who interacted with Mr. Moore and everyone loved him. I saw him in FNAC in Monaco not long before his death. I did not go near him, but other customers did, he was an utter gent with them. He was an older chap by then, but he was very tall and even then he was a handsome chap. Fair play to him.
My Bond. I was lucky enough to meet him once and he was as charming, pleasant and amiable as you could have ever dared hope. They say you should never meet your heroes, but I'm glad I took a chance with Sir Roger.
Seeing old interviews with Moore, highlights his selfdeprecating humor and intelligence - a true joy. They just don’t make Hollywood stars like this anymore.
One of my favourite actors. I grew up watching him in The Saint. I was lucky enough to see him outside Harrods. Great smile and charm. A better actor than people thought. The Man who Haunted Himself proved how good he was.
I know Moore was never regarded as a great actor, but somehow we always loved him and enjoyed his stuff. Sometimes being a star and being a great actor aren't intertwined. He wasn't even convincing as other characters, but I was fine with that because I enjoyed HIM. RIP.
Good point. Similar things could have been said about John Wayne. People loved him - couldn’t get enough of him - despite the fact that, whatever his movie, he just played the same bloke!
I grew up on Roger’s Bond films, and he will always be the quintessential 007 for me. He was also a fully realized individual who imo never got the respect he deserved as an actor or a human being. ❤
Roger moore was Bond for me i was a young boy when moonraker and spy who loved me were made and i loved them, and i remember thinking if i can have a quarter of mr moore's charisma and sense of fun then i will be doing alright. RIP mr moore 🙏
I think what makes Roger Moore’s interpretation of Bond special is the fact that he was not just giving us a spy movie, he was giving us a role model of what a real man and gentleman should be. He was entertaining us and he was teaching us.
Man, I miss Roger Moore, George Carlin, and Richard Pryor everyday. Roger Moore along with George Carlin and Richard Pryor will always be my absolute favorites, Roger Moore is my most favorite ❤ James Bond actor, and George Carlin as well as Richard Pryor are both the greatest American comedians of all time.
I NEED to see this!!! Roger Moore is my favorite Bond and probably the male public figure I most modeled my own personality after as a teenager. Loved the way he showed how funny/silly could still totally be cool and sexy. Even when his Bond movies were odd or outright rubbish, he was a delight to watch
I grew up in the time of Roger Moore, i always measure my earthly time watching Roger on screen. I always say when asked, who is your favorite Bond? I always say Roger. I was not judging who is the best bond, because that is subjective. I grew up with The Saint, The Persuaders, The man Who Haunted Himself, Street People, ETC. I MISS HIM EVERY DAY, I know i will see him in heaven, with God's grace.
I think Roger Moore would feel embarrassed seeing this documentary. Not because it's bad, but because he was a humble guy with a great sense of humour, and just like he didn't take Bond seriously, I don't think he'd take a "we are not worthy" documentary in his honour seriously. Roger was a gentleman and a clown. No time for empty praise when there's water to deliver to drought-stricken countries and people to make smile.
Roisin ingle of the Irish Times loved and adored roger moore. And could not stop talking about him. He was in Dublin to give a talk. And for all sorts of reasons she couldn't make and being that much of a roger moore fan, she was profoundly upset over that. She drowned her sorrows and she got back home and checked her messages and she had one. From sir roger moore. She said it was a very kind message and her bad mood evaporated. She told that story after sir roger passed away
My favourite Bond , sad I never got to meet him , although in all honesty I would have been starstruck. I read his first autobiography and it was a great read. Can't wait to watch this Documentary.
The true level of Roger's screen presence becomes clearer when you watch him play opposite some of the great stars of his era - Lee Marvin in 'Shout at the Devil', Richard Burton and Richard Harris in 'The Wild Geese', also Gregory Peck and David Niven in 'The Sea Wolves' . Then you realise that he too, quite simply, was one of those greats.
I love James Bond, especially Moore and Connery. Actually have a poster of Moore on my livingroom wall, from one of his Bondmovies. A friend of mine knew him. I loved "The Saint" too. And "The persuaders" with Tony Curtis.
Rodger Moore the best James Bond actor hands down he had it all the total package and did it all, Sean Connery started it Rodger Moore finished it everyone else tried to duplicate Rodger Moore but could never do it and the critics don't know nothing
Roger Moore is the Saint 😇 James Bond ❤ He's one of my favorite actors and with Love From Tiffany ❤ I Love You ❤ Thank you so much for sharing this ❤ Peace And Love With Tiffany ❤
I spoke to Roger Moore once, and he was kind to me. I’ll never forget it. I hope to see this documentary one day. It looks great. Rest in peace, sir.
Sure you did...... and you wait for these clips to comment about how you met him
No you didn't, you're about 15 mate

It didn't last long, those planes are FAST!
I saw him twice in a evening with Roger moore once in reading and once in richmond
Can we pause for a moment to soak in how absolutely dashing Pierce Brosnan looks all grey with that beard?
And still has it too.. the way he said my name is bond.. james bond.
Yeah, looks better than Sean Connery now.
I Agree.. A well aged Irishman☘
I’m 61. Moore was “my” Bond. Live And Let Die, in 1973, was my first, and still my favourite, Bond movie. He’s the best Bond.
ditto
I must say, Roger Moore was my favourite James Bond, what a true British gentleman
Mine too. Grew up watching him.
Its nice to see Jane Seymour interviewed included in this, an underrated Bond girl and way underrated actress.
And a beauty also

Roger Moore was the first James Bond I saw when I was a kid. This will undoubtedly be a most special documentary.
Same here!! I will always remember the ABC Sunday Night Movie in 1976.
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME 1977. First 007 film I saw, in cinema with my Father, thank you Dad.

As a kid, I was shy talking girls till I started watching a lot of James Bond. I took on a Roger Moore persona. 😀😀

Hey Roger, we think alike. Sir Roger Moore was my favorite as well.
I hope you’re female 😂

Such a lovely and authentic man. Roger Moore, especially as Bond, has a special place in my heart
So glad I grew up with Roger… one of my hero’s…
My Bond, first 007 I saw in the cinema as a kid in the 80's. Mr Moore was always a fantastic presence on screen- I do miss him a lot.
An absolute superstar, he had the star quality that today's 'celebrities' sadly completely lack.
One of my favourite actors. I grew up watching him in The Saint.
I was lucky enough to see him outside Harrods.
Great smile and charm. A better actor than people thought. The Man who Haunted Himself proved how good he was.
All the other 'Bonds' just *played* Bond. Roger Moore *was* Bond.
All other actors how became Bond, didn't want to be Bond after a while.
Roger Moore, was Bond before James Bond and always stayed Bond, 💯
I know Moore was never regarded as a great actor, but somehow we always loved him and enjoyed his stuff. Sometimes being a star and being a great actor aren't intertwined. He wasn't even convincing as other characters, but I was fine with that because I enjoyed HIM. RIP.

Yep my first Bond movie at the cinema was Moonraker. My dad took me too,see it.Still my fav 007 movie!!😊

Always really enjoyed watching Roger Moore's performances. Also enjoyed reading his biography. His old school charm and charisma is sadly missed.
One of the classiest and most underrated actors ever. And to me the only James Bond 007!
My favourite Bond. A lovely man. I nearly bought his old house in 2017. It was called Sherwood House and was in Denham
