    Mate, your videos are great, your work is fantastic, 8600 subscribers and counting, that's no easy task, I've only managed like 120 or something so far. Seems like we all watch and enjoy the same people, NZ, Pam, Guil, Phil Anderson, we're all one big club of people that possibly prefer wood to people, at least that's how I feel about it haha
    Anyway, I always look forward to your next video so I can appreciate your work, and your sense of humour! I'm gonna try and get a new video out soon, epoxy and 50 year old parquet flooring.. can be hard to keep going when you feel like nobody's watching. Suffice to say that lots of people including myself watch your videos religiously, so keep it up! Peace

    Another great creation Doug :)
    You deserve more views in my oppinion, good content of creativity which I love.
    I don't really care what people are creating, just that they are making something with their hands. Things don't even have to be purfect every time, we can all improve if we don't give up and continue trying.
    As for comments, you must delete the bad ones? as I've just read them all and most have nothing bad to say at all. And any you do get, just ignore them buddy.
    They are probably from unfortunate people who have never felt that pleasure of creating something for thereselves, that feeling you get when you have done something to the best of your ability (it dosen't even have to be purfect as you can always improve with practice). I think you know that feeling I'm trying to explane :)
    I think Winston Chirchill said " you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." Worth remembering that.
    Thank you for your uploads
    Bob

      I did delete some of the comments when that other Pine cone box first went viral as it upset me a bit, but I learned even if they are bad comments they still help my channel so I haven't deleted any bad comments in almost a year, I ignore them or even laugh at them now, as they not only help me get out on the suggested video list they also gave me a view, so it's funny that they think they are hurting me but are actually helping me and don't even know it. I do delete spam but those aren't hateful or anything,

    The reason orange peel occurs is bc 2 non-compatible finishes are used together. Example, wax and acrylic. I use 2 coats of shellac and spun dry followed 3 coats lacquer. No problem. Next time set the tea light in the top with a slip fit. SAFE TURNING, John

    Just a thought : how about pouring part A into X number of cups, add color and mix. Then Part B for the first two and pour them in after mixing. Add more part B as needed and continue. So the time is only adding and mixing the Part B and B mixing. Colors are already done. If the colors are bad - then dump and start a Part A again...

    I love this looks like lion fish and other sea creatures. Only minor criticism is volume levels I have turn your videos up and down, I know you said your learning editing as you if possible with your software please could you reduce the volume of the music and speed up sections when there is no music as the whine is quite uncomfortable. Other than that it's a great channel and you have inspired many projects for me, especially when I start playing with resin. Keep on turning.

    • @PohlBarnProductions
      @PohlBarnProductions  6 років тому

      Well hopefully I've gotten better at my editing since this video. It's really hard to keep everyone happy, i'm trying my best but at some point it just isn't possible, what to keep what not to keep what to speed up where and when to add music and keep it short enough to keep others interested in the out come of the project. I read all the comments, I wish some of those people could do my editing for me... LOL it takes twice as long to edit as it does to make the project. squeeze hours and hours of footage into 15ish minutes or so. LOL I'm glad you like the channel, I'm Flattered you were inspired by me to get out and make something, Resin is Addicting by the way.

    Rather than drill the large hole all at once why not drill it in stages. Brendan Stemp drills the largest hole first about 1/8 inch deep then uses a smaller bit to drill 1/8 of an inch, doing this in however steps you feel necessary resulting in a stepped hole. Drill the smallest hole to the desired depth then, using the steps as guides, go up to the larges hole. this puts a lot less strain on everything.

    • @PohlBarnProductions
      @PohlBarnProductions  6 років тому +1

      I just wasn't thinking, it's been a while since I've done one, I normally drill the smaller hole first, It was my bad, to many other things going through my brain trying to finish the project for this week. Thanks for the Advise I really do appreciate it/
