I wonder how a hover dredge would work in Nome? Might have to be a bit more sea worthy?

Hi Reed, This video was awesome! Such creativity. My brother and I tried to dredge the 40 mile this year 2021 but the water was too low for the hover crafts. Several of them were crashing. My brother, my son, and I will all go up next year and dredge the 40 mile river. Should be more water then. Hope we get as much gold as they did.

    • @ReedLukens

Low water makes life tough way out in the bush, but those hovercraft are sweet 😋

@@ReedLukensWe made up to the 40 Mile river and dredged for a week. Using a 6” dredge got about 1 oz of gold. Turns out we were running someone else’s tailings. This year 2024 we will go up in June. We will be using a Keene Super 6 that is very good at capturing fine gold. We should do much better this year.

@Reed Lukens I've watched a few of your videos. I recall seeing a comment from you on a [I think a] prospecting forum talking about dredges in The Sierras how they never got to the bottom of something called....was it Murderer's Bar on The American River? Do you have/thought of doing additional videos to share more of this knowledge maybe there are other sources you can recommend?

There was other copywrited music on it like north to Alaska, etc... that I had to remove for UA-cam, so I added the usual to keep it from being long portions of blacked out silence. After the second try, I listened to it with no sound and it was worse... to me anyway :)
