the 70s and 80s were creepy as a kid... no caller id, no gps, no smart phones, very few people had alarm systems, no ring home video surveillance, just not much help other than strappin up and getting a guard dog! your landline to your phone could get cut real easy too... jus so much stranger danger at school it was crazy cuz 2 kids were killed in my town in 84' on Halloween ... two girls age 8 and age 12 i believe

I didn’t know it was creepy until cells became common. Living in remote northern Michigan, we camped in the deep woods all the time in groups of teenagers. We could have been gone a few days before anyone would notice.

@dražen ZAGREB where do you live? I wasn’t afraid as a kid not having the ability for immediate communication. I think life just moved slower then.

None of things you mentioned that didn’t exist back then help you from being murdered. Cams are no more than silent witnesses that can easily be rendered useless by face covering. Alarms don’t physically stop anyone either, they just make someone kill faster and have a pre planned escape route.
And cutting phone lines wasn’t easy. You’ve seen too many movies. Most phone companies mounted they’re service boxes for the homes phone lines a minimum of 10 ft high. I think the standard was 9 ft back then. So most of those wires required a ladder to cut them. Now since virtually all we have is cell phones a simple pocket sized signal jammer you can buy pretty cheap online is all you need and it’s no work at all, just bring it with you, that’s it.
What I’m saying basically is, make sure you stay strapped and keep that guard dog. This tech that you think saves you is no more than an illusion. You’re just as vulnerable now as you were then. Just comparing murder rates stats from now to then will show you this.

BB@@jimmynovak7913 no it doesnt stop em but it prevents alot more i bet ... thats the only reason there are less serial killers today i bet ya

@@chad3452 They’re a deterrent for lazy killers on some level. It’s been awhile since I looked at the FBI website but last I checked, around Xmas last year, there were 56 alleged active serial killers being investigated and 20 something that had gone cold or dormant. As well as over 1,000 cold case murders of different types w seemingly no motive connected. It’s def a deterrent for some. Otherwise dummy cams wouldn’t exist but there were the same number of active serial killers being investigated back in the 70s and 80s as there are now unfortunately.
