As a child who grew-up in the early 70's in a poverty stricken neighborhood, it attracted the creepiest, often wealthy outsiders. Once, while climbing a neighbors tree around the age of 8-9 yrs old, a guy pulls up in a van and ask me to come down from the tree, that he had food he wanted to give me. I didn't come down, in fact, I went up so high in the tree I would need help getting down later. However, I was fortunate, I wasn't in a home where we didn't have much food or raisings to stay away from strangers. I did tell my mom who called the police. I just hate to imagine if it had been some of my neighbors, who might not have thought twice about taking him up on his offer for food. I knew even as a small child, something wasn't right with that guy.

I was walking home one time and had a guy in a white box truck drive by me. He turned around at the light and started slowly following me. As he pulled up alongside me he was a toothless weird looking guy with coke bottle glasses and he asked “do you need a ride?” I said naw I’m good and he said “you sure, it’s really cold out there and I got heat in here” and I was like no I live right here I was a street away from home. He drove away and I noticed he pulled into a parking lot at a park near my house. I waited at the end of the street to see if he turned around again and went back the way he came. Sure enough he turned around and slowly drove past my street. I could see him stretching to see where I went but I just stood there and watched him stare down the street. It still creeps me out thinking about him slowly driving past my street arching his neck looking for me. For context I was a 22 year old 6 ft 220 lbs guy and I’m sure he had a gun or something to subdue me if I got in that truck. It’s still creeps me out to this day to think about it and I remember how his voice sounded. Totally scary

As a survivor, I like listening to justice catching up with the bad people. Some of my loved ones think I am odd for listening to true crime, but the adults that hurt me are all dead, so I get my justice vicariously. I cry for the pain and suffering the survivors went through, but I cheer happily when they get justice!

Same. I was molested and raped by my grandfather when I was 3 to 6, when I was finally taught in school that it wasn't right or normal and started acting weird around him he stopped, I guess he didn't want to have my dad, his son kill him. I somehow blocked this out and began acting out in my teens because of it. One night when I was 28 I started meditating to calm myself down and the memories came flooding back. He died when I was 16 and I went from mourning to flat out hatred. I always knew someone had did something to me but until then I couldn't remember who or what happened. If he was alive in that moment or the years that followed I would have probably ended up in prison for killing him. Now I enjoy crime shows especially criminally listed to see people get justice. I'm sorry you went through that trauma

These kinds of murders were mostly 70s-90s. It was significantly easier to get away that stuff. With cell phones and cctv, these killers and rapists are much more of a rarity.
The real issue then, on why kids don't go out like they used to, is the parents and the kids are spiritually dead already. Absolutely unwilling to take chances or get into anything without an organized structure. Our threats and problems are all head trips, solved by new gender pronouns and a professional's diagnosis and prescription.

My parents insisted on the buddy system with my best friend and neighbor and her older brother who was very big for his age and a black belt, it didn't happen to me but rather my friend and her cousin walking home the opposite direction a man pulled up whipped his thing out and tried to coerce them into his van, they ran and reported it, the school talked to everyone about it the next day to make us all aware and put extra teachers aides ans crossing guards out to deter anyone but he approached several others over the course of that week at dismissal, as everyone was aware of it and vigilant of how to handle it and report it. @NicoleIf you believe you're "free" anywhere on Earth, I envy you. Only, that ideology is MORE harmful than believing there is a God. I know, factually, through observation and experience people who believe they have been abandoned or damned by God, feel that way bc of human defect. God is not seen, but felt, he doesn't speak. If feeling is torture, can only be perpetrated by man, then how would they know God? If we are made in God's image, then why do we hurt ourselves? You can hate yourself without, hurting others. If you know God, even if God abandons you, there would be hesitation and resignation about hurting anyone else! Even if they were hurting you! Let's take God out of the equation, let's use Mother, Brother, Friend, or Child, motivators to be and do better! Even if it were for money or sex. This Country, is made on God! The absence of God or something positive, outside of human deficiency, is what you have now. The fact that both of us are on here, and this channel exists is proof of what free will gave. A whole bunch of confusion and misery. Powerlessness. I'm not religious but I'm going to pray for you and me. Oracle or Jesus! Tupac! Sun, Moon, Fire, Water! HELP!

They need strong evidence before they can legally exhume someone and obviously they didn’t have enough to even charge him when he was alive, and there’s no new evidence, it wouldnt convince a judge to issue a warrant.
They’d need the family’s cooperation and if they say no, they have no choice but to leave it alone. Genetic genealogy might be the only way: if a distant relative has a reasonable amount of DNA in common, they might get a close enough match to obtain a warrant for a closer family member’s DNA.

Finally got to see Philadelphia featured on CL and gained even more respect for you guys when I recognized every cityscape photo! Great job on the Frankford Slasher. What a evil creep who took advantage of the most vulnerable people in our society. It’s sad because I don’t think people know how bad some of the neighborhoods in Philly are. Frankford, Kensington; these places look like the aftermath of a war and the people there who live in the street, and there’s A LOT, look like they’ve been through a war. They are scary, sad places and it’s infuriating to think that this maniac may have prayed on the people there while perpetuating a fraud of being a social worker or whatever because in my estimation this can be going on today and might go unnoticed in the mountain of misery.

They were used to seeing his face on a fairly regular basis. Think of all of the acquaintances we see on a regular basis that we don’t really “know” very well. It’s scary to think about but you can think that you know someone but all the while, you never really know what’s actually going on in their mind.

Oh wow I live right outside philly, you mean the suitcase the guy left on K and A? That was shocking to me when I read it since that’s a pretty big deal but then it kinda just went away, also considering I was always at that corner when I used to buy Addie’s lol

He wasn’t innocent... There could easily be two killers (possibly friends) who committed the murders

Lol! that reminded me of that case where the pizza delivery guy was forced to put on that collar that was made of bombs... then it exploded in front of the police.

@@cvdixon29 I forgot about him. Poor guy. Always seemed strange that the police were with him for hours and couldn't do anything.
Anyways, in this case I was thinking of something like a box with feet. People literally use "literally"...never mind...
