Thx for the zero water tip! I got one right after i watched this video! I planned to get a TDS meter off amazon and i buy distilled, figure koll 2 birds with 1 stone. And this is water i can drink. Win win

Yes! I didn't even mention the drinking water aspect. Lol. Zero pitchers are awesome!

Thank you so much! I was always curious if our zero water filter was sufficient enough. This confirms it! Granted, I only have 2 sundews and a pitcher plant. A gallon of RO or distilled lasts me pretty long. I then tried tap water conditioner for the sundews but negative results showed pretty quickly so I went back to RO gallons. I look forward to trying the filtered water. Thank you!

Yes! The zero water pitcher is amazing. Just keep in mind that other water filtration systems (like Britta) do not work the same. Make sure it's a zero pitcher and you Will be good to go!

@@CarnivorousPlantsHub Yeah exactly. We only use zero water filters. I was just unsure if it will be ok for the carnivorous plants. I only used zero water for my other plants. Out of convenience, I wanted to try the water conditioner instead of waiting for water to filter. I don't think it's working too well though. Syngonium's don't seem to like it and definitely not sundews.

A Geekpure 3 stage RO unit on Amazon that cost around 50 dollars and will make a lot more water than a zero water pitcher. I have a huge collection and go through 5 gallons of water every few days and the filters last 6 months plus. In the long run a cheaper alternative over the zero pitcher. Replacement filters for RO unit are 30 dollars.

I completely agree with you for a larger collection. Most people's small collection don't warrant the inconvenience and learning curve of a RO system. Zero pitcher is buy, fill and water. However, I strongly encourage RO systems once your collection is larger. I just don't think RO is great advice for a beginner grower with 3 plants.

I think pots and soil should've probably been the most important instead of these accessories..

Ya, this was more pointing out the less obvious. Anything that was an absolute necessity, I tried to leave off.

And yes, it's not technically soil, but most novices can relate to the word soil better than substrate.
