    I found your channel yesterday and I have binge watched you since then. I've commented a few times and you probably are tired of hearing it but I am in awe of your skills. You are a genius in my opinion!. I hope you get millions of subscribers but also hope you do not change. You are teaching an old man a lot and I again thank you. I will try not to say any more but I am in awe sir!

      I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying that it's a great channel, but isn't as popular as it deserves to be. Keep up the good work!

    You spent how much time and effort to build something that I could buy for $150? No safety devices or remote control?

      Whats the fun in buying. When you build, you get to learn. I think that's life we learn new things every day.

      @MakerMan have you thought of taking control of it with an app, etc. through home automation? I bet you'd love home assistant - open source Internet Of Things smart home control...
      I welded up four 4-meter sliding walls for my training hall here in Thailand, and I am beginning to plan a DIY opener like yours (but my walls slide horizontally) using smart home technology.

    With the way the roll up door works, could you not put the weights on the inside? Do they have to be on the outside?

    • @MakerMan
      @MakerMan  7 років тому +1

      +David Sanders it can be inside also, still it will work the same.

    wow vry nice...u did really well...vry innovative...hm n since the motor s for the small water pump..doesn't the humming sound s bit loud..Or the motor s different..

    • @MakerMan
      @MakerMan  6 років тому

      I went with a 2 hp motor in the video, because the water pump gets hot fast and not powerful.

    • @bendangwatilongkumer4829

    Why would you go trough the hassle of this. A brand new one is not expensive ! only 150 dollar or so and it probally will last more than 10 years and you have a cleaner install

    • @MakerMan
      @MakerMan  5 років тому +1

      But whats the fun in buying. Making makes me happy.

    • @CharlesCarabott
      @CharlesCarabott 5 років тому +1

      If one does from scrap items it will cost nothing or much less the $150. In my case saving $150 is very significant as I can use the money for something else that I can't make myself
