I found your channel yesterday and I have binge watched you since then. I've commented a few times and you probably are tired of hearing it but I am in awe of your skills. You are a genius in my opinion!. I hope you get millions of subscribers but also hope you do not change. You are teaching an old man a lot and I again thank you. I will try not to say any more but I am in awe sir!
hey maker I wish you were my neighbor we would be building crazy things all day . I like process , you see a problem and then u solve it for a cheap as possible
@MakerMan have you thought of taking control of it with an app, etc. through home automation? I bet you'd love home assistant - open source Internet Of Things smart home control... I welded up four 4-meter sliding walls for my training hall here in Thailand, and I am beginning to plan a DIY opener like yours (but my walls slide horizontally) using smart home technology.
wow vry nice...u did really well...vry innovative...hm n since the motor s for the small water pump..doesn't the humming sound s bit loud..Or the motor s different..
Why would you go trough the hassle of this. A brand new one is not expensive ! only 150 dollar or so and it probally will last more than 10 years and you have a cleaner install
If one does from scrap items it will cost nothing or much less the $150. In my case saving $150 is very significant as I can use the money for something else that I can't make myself
Nice job great work !! the only thing I would have done different is I would have put bar weights on the bottom inside edge , Nice job well done , Im just starting out on UA-cam I will be filming videos on welding tips and tricks and small projects very soon, Subscribe if you like looking forward to your next video ... Thanks for sharing .
I'm more impressed that you did this all in your pajama's
+Kenneth Paylor heheh

So anyone can walk up and open you door with the flip of a switch .Nice
It's a garage in side my house compound.
This guy's channel is totally unappreciated.
+N9ne Fingers thanks for ur concern.
I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying that it's a great channel, but isn't as popular as it deserves to be. Keep up the good work!
+N9ne Fingers oh thanks.
Love the creativity. 10/10. Love to see you make a Rocket to Mars. Im sure it will work better than NASA.

+M Doggie out of curiosity, u r from which country?
United States . Maryland to be exact
Best way to do things. I like cheap as possable too
Yeah
You spent how much time and effort to build something that I could buy for $150? No safety devices or remote control?
Whats the fun in buying. When you build, you get to learn. I think that's life we learn new things every day.
how you opens it from inside while no switch has been instaled inside the garage??
+mohit anand i have a small door. I am planning add one inside soon. Its a bit expensive, its called drum switch.
Great project kudos
+Manny Velez thanks buddy
GREAT WORK. What is the motor?
What's stopping anybody from walking up to the door and opening it if the switch is mounted outside?
The inside our house with a proper lock gate. So no one ;)
awesome job bro.

I have already made an iot gate.
@@MakerMan yessss great!!!! Did ya get it on video for us ;)?
It's in my channel iot gate
With the way the roll up door works, could you not put the weights on the inside? Do they have to be on the outside?
+David Sanders it can be inside also, still it will work the same.
wow vry nice...u did really well...vry innovative...hm n since the motor s for the small water pump..doesn't the humming sound s bit loud..Or the motor s different..
I went with a 2 hp motor in the video, because the water pump gets hot fast and not powerful.
MakerMan ....OK 2hp electric motor for industrial use
Yes. I got for free from a friend. So I used it . U can use 1 - 1.5hp
MakerMan ....is it still wrkn....
Yup. Like a charm
Nice build. Interesting way to solve a number of issues that is normally done with a jack shaft setup.
+Bobdeham yes
suoer cool what city is this in and i think i might do this too.
I live in UAE.
Can you make a gate opener?
how to connect limit switch to drum switch..for the motor to shut off..pls explain...guruji..👍
Where.I can get a gearbox?
I got from my local scrap yard.
if power cut..can I do it manually
Yes, just remove the cable
Old jack shaft
great work!
why you put extra weight on the edges of the door?
+Arabicology Modern Thinkers to make door close freely down.
what's welding machine's model?
+benjanim its a cheap Chinese mig welding machine good enough for my use. Model is edon 175.
I paid 300$ for it.
This DIY is kinda hard lol
so everyone can open your door and go in
This garage is inside my house. There is a video of my main gate. ,,

But whats the fun in buying. Making makes me happy.
