I just started playing this game for the first time in my life (good old original, not remaster). Back in the day I was too young and inept and mostly only watched my older brother play. I still suck, but I just finished this mission, although much less smoothly than the uploader :) I used up 95% of the resources on the map before I got to the cannon lol.
I'm ashamed of how bad I am at this game, right now I never managed to finish this mission, I'm just too bad at moving all those units, but at least now i've got a hunch on how to do it. Good job and thanks.
V. interesting marine strategy! I feel like you could've gotten away with much less defense to the East, just a bunch of spider mines at the outset. Amazing how much faster the marine attack hits Red vs the 12 wraith approach. I always felt this mission was slow b/c of the single gas available. Killing white is not necessary but it is fun. I think you could've just made some dropships and a science vessel after killing Red and drop marines onto the platform.
Great video. I only have one thing to point out. I couldn't help myself. I chuckled at how multiple Battlecruisers used their yamato cannon on a single turret. That is one thing I dislike about this old game, when you use a skill it makes all of them use the same skill.
It's referred to as a lack of smart-casting spells. Good players will box select single bcs and yamato individually, it's a great skill for the campaign too ;) Same with science vessels and Defense matrix.
I never make battlecruisers in this mission because I think Raynor's Raiders don't have a fleet of Battlecruisers yet until they assault Dylarian Shipyards and steal Dominion's Battlecruisers. I just use Goliaths, Siege Tanks, Wraiths, Ghosts, Science Vessels, and Nukes to sweep across this entire mission.
Yay, Behemoth-class Battlecruisers mission! (Darn, little Science Vessel support.) Ironic. The rebel Sons of Korhal have become the leading oppressive force of Terrankind, while the former Confederate group who willfully defected and turned the tide to and for them have become the new rebellion. 39:52: By the way, that is one memorable speech coming from one of the manipulative bastards in old Blizzard gaming history.
Finally getting into StarCraft and found they had tons of books, so I've started with the audiobook "I, Mengsk", and it's like that guy is one heck of an annoying yuppie even before he turned into an abandoner & tyrant.
@@roostergrogburn2116 there is a way to assign each comsat station to a custom hot key I believe, I just can’t figure it out. Since making this comment, however, I’ve taken to making ju command centers F2 and F3 and just hitting those, selecting the com sat station, then clicking the mini map where I was and using the S hotkey to scan. Still wish I could get the com-sat station in a hot key though. Let me know if you figure it out.

As much as SC2 messed up some bits of the story, it sure made Arcturus' fall cathartic.

The N64 version would only fire one at a time, and your group size was at 16...think about the possibilities of that with a battle cruiser group.

This level always kicked my ass. I never managed to finish it without cheats.

They don’t assault the Dylarian shipyards. That is the UED and they are completely different to Raynor’s raiders.

What’s the hot key to select the surveillance tower without having to scroll over to where you command center is?
I can’t figure that out either and this video nor the game explain how it’s possible. It’s costing me time every time I play this mission then I lose.
