Hello. Just wanted to say I’m graduating high school in June. I might be getting a job with fire alarm inspections and conducting monthly fire drills in local schools. If I get permission to film an inspection or fire drill, I will certainly post it! Or I could go to college and ask them if I can help with the fire drills. This is something I’ve been wanting to do forever now, but my high school won’t let any students set the alarms off. It has to be done all by the custodian. Can’t wait! :D

Ah, TrueAlerts. Those were probably the first fire alarm devices I ever heard (way back in 2005 I believe). Man were they LOUD as heck, and they also had the power to scare me too. As a matter of fact, they STILL in a sense scare me today lol 😄
    Great video 😉

fireandalarm1234 Sorry it scared you. Do you remember if the strobes began flashing first or would both the horn and strobe activate at the same time? Reason I ask is because when I went to school some of our buildings’ fire alarm panels were programmed to flash the lights first. The purpose was to help those with sound sensitivity to get ready for a fire drill so they would not be startled easily. Some of our older buildings did not have the delay so every time we had a fire drill, a lot of kids would be panicked and some are even traumatized by the unexpected noise. Some of our drills we would get a 5 minute notice before they even pulled the alarm so that students won’t panic over the alarm. Most of them were a surprise so the teachers just had to be prepared to help those having difficulty coping.

I love how some simplex panels activate the strobes first and then the horns. It makes you aware of what is about to come blow your ears out.

The Alarming Alarmist Yes. In fact, I live on a campus where a handful of our buildings are set to activate the strobes first. It’s to help people with autism and others who may be sensitive to loud noises. Some of our buildings, though, sound off at the same time. Last year we were in a building where we had Truealerts but there was no delay and we’d be scared to death. At least my dorm’s panel has that feature.

7:16 Those stoppers are really popular but make it very hard to reset!! They should at least have hinges or something like the stopper on the STI push station.

I have two questions. 1.) Does it matter if you press acknowledge before alarm silence, or vise cerca, and 2.) How is the delay in the horns set up? I noticed that the panel and strobes started activating before the horns activated.

It does not matter which sequence you use in the panel to silence and ack. As for the delay, there is no setting for that, but it is actually a result of the coding used for two-wire operation.

    Great video 😀👍👍
Does the advanced pull station, also take the Simplex B key (Since CAT 30 is the same as the B)?
Does the Siemens MSM Pull Station take a T45 or CAT 30? I’ve got 6 of them (Regular MSM-K or KD) in my high school, and the all take the T45 key, same as the panel. But, I’ve seen very few, say they take a CAT 30.
    Thanks!

The Advance pull does take the B and CAT 30 key. The MSM does take the T45

Is it possible to activate the explosion proof pull without lifting the cover?

Fire Alarms and Such Oh okay, I thought that the cover was just to protect it and that it could be optional to lift it or not.
