They were such a wonderful part of my youth and I’m still listening to them today. A very talented duo, Richard’s arrangements are beautiful and Karen’s voice immediately grabs you! A true gift

One of the best duos in the pop music world! What a team these two were! Karen,s golden alto voice and richard keen ear for a good song! Nobody understood karen,s talent like her brother! He surrounded her velvety smooth voice with the right instruments!

Despite Karen’s death, it was and still is a great American success story.

What a lovely unpretentious man Richard is and what equally lovely sister he had. Lovely upload, Chris. I'm deeply affected.

Wonderful vid. Nice to see a significant increase in enthusiasm for Carpenters music. Richard's memorabilia collection is remarkable. One wonders if, in due time, are there any plans to create a permanent venue for Carpenter fans and music enthusiasts to pay tribute and view this collection of Carpenters memorabilia. Like Elvis' Graceland or The Big House for the Allman Brothers Band. The Carpenters music and legacy is most deserving.
BTW- Really enjoying the referenced Musical Legacy book.

I have been obsessed with that Newville St house since the album was released. That was also when I fell in love with Ferrari Daytonas as well. I finally got down to Downey to see it in the flesh in Nov 2022. As my friend and I were gawking, the homeowner from across the street was doing yard work and seemed willing to talk to us. We got to converse with him all about the stories of living on that street and the many tour buses that drive into the culdesac. It’s sad that RC sold it to a family with zero interest in its history. It looks like shit now and the studio addition to the house was torn down and a huge, ghastly house was built. But at least my memory can finally be brought up to date.

Let talk about who invented them in his garage and who recoded most all their tracks I’m talking the master tracks. that would be the great studio drummer Hal Blane and super bassist of the wrecking crew that who recorded the gold !!! Karen still good drummer ,but didn’t record the albums

She did do some drumming on the 5th album (the one with the hits medley - can't remember the name) I have heard. Maybe some others, but totally veto any recorded drumming by Karen, I think, would be wrong.

The Carpenters are an amazing group, Karen's voice will live on long after most singers fade away into obscurity.
