Just to add…the only T5s that were removed *I believe* were those that got a T6 upgrade when they were going back and updating older T5 Lockbox & Lobi ships to T6 levels. If it never got an upgrade then, they kept the T5 version.
Adding to the info, while the ship comes with the rare version of Swarmers, we can get a Very Rare version while doing "Sphere of Influence", leaving only the Elite version to be bought.

Make engineering carriers into a something like an IRL carrier battle group by itself; give them the wingman mechanic and two more hangars bays (for a total of four). That should differentiate them from every other type of carrier.
I've wanted this for so long. I know why they dont' do it (because apparently it's taxing on the servers to add Even More Stuff Flying ARound) but... gah it would be so much fun. Or hell I'd even just accept if they'd make Wingman more widely available - maybe as part of a new Specialization so you could put it on whatever ship you wanted. Idk. Such a good mechanic, so tragically underused.
There is an object limit the engine can handle and that is sometimes already reached with multiple carriers, targetable torpedos, mines etc being reached. A wingman or perhaps just a single destroyer/escort would make sense.
That's why I have a science Captain. Photonic Fleet. Heavy attack ship from Jem'hadar dreadnought carrier,Nimbus call,New shuttle call,Alliance squadron call...I am a one ship armada no matter what ship I use.

It is never going to be the best of the best as that would dent their sales on the C store or gambling boxes. It almost feels like Cryptic is regretting releasing any flight deck carriers because it feels like they think it is overpowered. Which is a shame because I really wish there was a 25th Century Starfleet asthetic FDCV (my acronym for flight deck carriers, using the USN hull code for carriers there) while I do enjoy my Donnie either the temporal or my one miracle worker lockbox one. Voyager-A will probably be a science ship but it would be nice if she ends up being the first 25th century Starfleet FDCV.
As for a full carrier thing, maybe something like the juggernought arrays, a Scramble all pilots/craft that launches a second wave of all your bays for a set time like 30 secs or 1 min and adjust cooldown for balancing.
I really would rather have seen a couple new Romulan ships, preferably something like a Miracle Worker or another science ship. Maybe another Intel ship. Or, heck, a few new Romulan bridge layouts and internal layouts would be nice. I think the Romulans, perhaps for good story reasons, have gotten the shorter end of the stick.
The best thing I found about the reactive antiproton Cascade emitter is that it does synergize well with the new console on the Aetherian Ship! Utilizing the ship as a support-tank in casual play seems like a stylish and fun way to play! Of course I would like to see more play with the Obelisk set, something I only recently got into!
My advanced obelisk and all consoles are still available sad thing at the moment is on the ps4 the ship is half invisible from the last update just hope they fix this soon. But the cascade console from the obelisk i use on most of my ships works great on the kelvin timeline intel dreadnought

I have to agree with you on the Hyspreian battlecruiser being one of the best event ships, I made a Hysperian themed alt just for that ship. As for this ship, it's significantly better than the T5 i've been on the fence about picking up for a while (missed it as an event ship)...and that's all I really needed. Console needs a proper description, and trait is...ok. I'm super bummed out about swarmers not having a squadron so they can...swarm. I can see myself flying it, and I already have the alts to make it work thematically.

Bit puzzled by this video as you don’t seem excited over what looks to be one of the best pet/minion Carriers in game with a near perfect Carrier bridge officer layout with everything top end Carrier builds look for. Why are you saying Commander Command / Miracle worker is a problem? This is the best setup for Carrier pet/minion builds. Both are essential for high end pet builds and you want higher rank Command then Miracle worker. The best carriers for pushing pets and minion damage to high levels are based around Commander Command / Miracle worker. This is more then a theme build Carrier, it’s a top end meta pet/minion carrier with its great layout. It can even take the equivalent of 3 and a half bays of pets give them all EPtW and if you take Command Kodai the strongest fed pets in game it can make them spam more torpedoes then even Valkryies pets spam. Something that doesn’t work on most FDC’s. This looks to be within the top 5 strongest pet build/minion build Carriers in game. Not a Carrier for building around main weapons but for a pet/minion carrier its a top end ship if you build towards high end meta carrier builds.

You had the same idea as I had when seeing the stats, a pet focused carrier build (where pets do the majority of the dmg). As I dont own Scramble Fighters trait, I dont mind the trait on this ship. That said, I was hoping it came with something to boost pets in comparison to EPG, DEW, etc. I think besides Scramble Fighters I own all the hangar pet meta stuff and although it can really hold its own on advanced, on elite the pets are just too squishy, one AoE ability and your fully leveled pets just melt away.
The t5 Obelisk is still available in the lobi store. This will work with ba'ul weapons and sentry mode. Though you'll need to pass on the lobi ba'ul omni beam for the full Obelisk set.
The point in 3/3 carriers is to be able to use frigate class pets. Which leads to the issue: Frigate pets need a massive buff to be viable in the current game. It's a carrier after all, not a 5/3 banger with pets or a science ship.
I know SAD + ToDuj fighter squadron is kinda the "meta" on pet focused builds where pets do the majority of the dmg. Does SAD work with frigates, if so are there hangar pets which outperform the ToDuj to your knowledge?
I've been loving this 4pc set mixed with ba'ul 2 pc especially since these spawns rank like normal hanger pets still seeing what else with effect them from a pure hanger build like in the awhanee build you did. Really hoping SAD and single target version proc them dut still working on that mastery. Will update if anyone is interested

I know you intended that as a joke but its one of the parts that makes this an amazing Carrier. Fit Command Kodai trigger inspiration then you spam more pet torpedoes then any other pet even more torpedo spam then Valkyries pets. Stu seems to love Valkyries for torp spam yet this better version of torp spam is uninspiring? 3 and half bays of pets, massive torp spam, EPtW for pets seems pretty inspiring to me.
I think with it being the second event ship we have ever gotten with a full spec, and this one not needing a fleet module; it kinda makes up for it's drawbacks. It certainly is a great ship for new players and f2p players. It is quite easy for us established players to pick it apart, but if this is going to be a trend for event ships going forwards, I don't think we'll be able to say event ships are designed to be weaker anymore. Which overall would be a great change, not only knowing these end up mudds with ridiculous pricing, but so they actually have a bit more play for us players that are already spoiled for choice.
While the visuals are superb, I feel like the game mechanics here were pretty slapdash for an update to such a distinctive STO ship. I think pairing the Starship Trait with the Fek'Ihri carrier fire ball launching trait and the Section 31 drone trait might be fun though.

Probably not, because the only build I can think of to do on it is already very close to the Fighter Support build I did Ahwahnee. I'd just swap in the old Obelisk set, switch to Antiproton, that's about it. I'll probably do a video about the console it comes with though, because that has some surprises in it that weren't in the blog.
I'm a little worried about a C-store quality ship being given away for free and the reward for the event campaign being so big... Usually, if a business owner starts giving stuff away it's because they're preparing to close the business. STO has been around for a decent amount of time, the graphics are showing some age, and I bet it's making enough money to pay the employees but I doubt it's turning much profit (I haven't done any real research so I might be wrong). I keep waiting to hear they're going to shut down servers.
I got a question If sto were to introduce a miracle worker version of the galaxy class do you think it should be a flight deck carrier, a multi mission cruiser or should it be just a simple cruiser
I was actually just talking about this the other day with some people. We were talking about how it's crazy that we haven't gotten a Galaxy class that has a hangar bay or two, give that the Galaxy has a huge amount of shuttle bay room. Those only Galaxy classes in the game that have a hangar bay are the dreadnoughts (the ones with three nacelles), but none of the standard ones do. Personally, I'd rather have an Odyssey Flight Deck Carrier, but a Galaxy one would be cool. Though Multi-Mission Cruiser would certainly be thematically appropriate for a Galaxy, too. And yeah, MW would certainly fit.

because with how easy it is to buff hangar pets these days, you run the risk of making a carrier really overpowered with that many pets at once. Additionally, there are likely concerns on if the server handle that many entities at once (imagine the lag with 5 players all running three hangar pet builds, all of them swarm pets). Personally, I think it's smarter to give normal carriers an innate pet buff, kinda like how Raiders get Raider Flanking.
This ship is not my kind of ship but I know a lot of people are happy about it and to them I say enjoy! Thanks for the video Stu as always awesome job! These pets need to have higher evasion. That would help A LOT.

Yes, I bought the Tier 5 Obelisk carrier recently, it came with the console. You'll need to go to the Fleet Dyson Sphere to get the Elite pets though.

I think torpedos would still work especially with the command seat. Turn rate is actually quite good for a carrier.

Why not give pure carriers a 3rd hangar?
because with how easy it is to buff hangar pets these days, you run the risk of making a carrier really overpowered with that many pets at once. Additionally, there are likely concerns on if the server handle that many entities at once (imagine the lag with 5 players all running three hangar pet builds, all of them swarm pets).
Personally, I think it's smarter to give normal carriers an innate pet buff, kinda like how Raiders get Raider Flanking.
