    i used to think that i discovered the palomar knot, except i wasn't calling it that because i didn't know what a palomar was

      You probably did and someone watched you tie it and stole it. Should be the called the crofton knot

    We used to just put a board up against the truck to block the wind.

    I ice fished at one place were we fished well over one hundred feet with minnows.
    They gave us a board that had really thick mono wrapped around it with a cork on it. We let the minnow down and then raised the minnow a foot off the bottom and stuck a toothpick in the cork to stop the line.

      That’s super cool! So when you got a bite did you pull the line up with your hands?! I’ve seen videos of people doing this, I’ll have to try it one day!!

      You rewind it back into the piece of wood
      We used to do that with ice fishing poles before they put reels on them.

      @ oh that’s a solid idea! I have some extra line maybe I’ll bring a log Incase I lose my rods down the holes lol
