As a Swede who has been to the US and have had lovely American friends to visit me, where we have discussed Trump and his fans, I feel it is an educational issue combined with too many Americans not being exposed to cultures, politics and traditions other than their own. Free education matters! And being able to afford to travel.
Ethnocentrism is "the evaluation of other cultures according to preconceptions originating in the standards and customs of one's own culture."
Thats part of it, no question. A great deal of this mindset has been passed down, these people have been in a bubble their entire lives. No exposure to other cultures and other places as you mentioned. Then add in politicians like Donald Trump, stoking these peoples fears.

These are my favorite kind of videos. I love seeing people use the Socratic method. It’s the only thing I’ve ever seen work to get people to think, really THINK, about what they believe and why, and it’s the only thing I’ve seen change people’s minds about what they believe. When I was young, I used to parrot what I heard other people saying without questioning it at all, then I’d go around repeating it word for word like it was fact. The day I finally understood that my opinion (or things I heard other people say and simply repeated) weren’t the same as FACT was the day my whole world changed. I am so grateful for the people who asked me question after question to help me see that I had absolutely NO idea what I was talking about or why I even believed the things I believed. They taught me how to think critically and do my own research, and that was everything. ❤️

It is also terrifying, empty, hollow, and cold. The near future isn't looking good. How can I, or anyone, watch a leader in our country tell lie after lie and be able to look past that? If someone is straight up lying to my face and I know he knows that I know. That person should lose all credibility. In 250 years, we have always looked to our president for leadership. The integrity of that position in office is so strong we would die for it. And we have. Up until 2016. At that time we just let our guard down. None of that mattered anymore. Definitely not directly. You would have to talk about other, "innocent" things they are interested in (whatever, cars, NASCAR, wrestling, football), and show them there how practical an positive it is how to think about a topic, how to verify the information, how to process the information for yourself so that you REALLY understand it, how to explain what you mean to others.
Only when you have established this pattern on a neutral field, have established that it is FUN to learn, totally normal and unavoidable that one does not know everything about anything, and therefore changing one's mind with new information is absolutely OK and NOT changing it is the wrong method, only then you can start to move and show them how they can apply that TO THEIR OWN ADVANTAGE on other fields of life.
It gets so bad that I saw someone express the claim that the only really started to see trans people after 2015 and trying to blame some sort of cultural change that made people trans.
What actually happened is that in 2015 the Supreme Court made same sex marriage the law of the land and that effectively ended the war against gay rights and so the right wing changed targets to trans people and started scapegoating them, and so the people who listened to these right-wing culture warriors suddenly started hearing about them.
It's called a cult. A very sick one at that.

You really believe in your heart and soul that those “masks” were keeping others from spreading a so called “Corona virus?” What it is a virus anyways? Have you ever asked yourself that? Can you even answer that question? The masks in all honesty did way more damage than they did good. Think about it. What’s the one thing we breathe out? Carbine dioxide right? So imagine wearing a mask all day breathing in and out all day long. Counting the germs you release from your mouth every time you breathe out? Now what are you breathing back in while wearing that mask aside from the little bit of oxygen that your managing to inhale? That’s right. The germs, the carbon dioxide, all the dust that’s floating around and getting caught up underneath your mask. They never worked from the beginning and they never will. A virus is airborne and there’s no way to stop the spread. Even the jab wouldn’t prevent that.
I agree about the mask, should be mandatory. However, I feel the same for those who took the Vax. When the solution is really the problem.

When I was a young kid, I always thought all adults were wise and prudent people. Now I see that most children are more intelligent than, say, roughly 38% of adults.

The thing that struck me most about the train of thought from the penultimate interview, the election conspiracy lady, and I did like David's "invisible weightless tiger that doesn't need to eat" analogy, is that this is the kind of argument tactic wet all used on the playground when we were kids, trying to win some pretend scenario with more and more excessive one-upmanship:

And this my friends, is the root of the problem with partisan politics: it gives the people an identity to hide behind and let that identity do all their thinking for them, which is why I'm anti-partisan.
