Back here revisiting your tutorial and wanted to share. Last year I made some Christmas trees following your tutorial but downsizing them for my large microwave kiln. They turned out great. Instead of slumping though, I attached them to Night lights. They made wonderful gifts. Thank you again for all the great ideas you share. Merry Christmas.
You ROCK Tabitha! I enjoy your videos. So many fun ideas and loaded with many useful tips. Thanks for considering many who do not have all the coldworking equipment with ingenious ideas for all levels. MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TEXAS!
Another amazing Tabitha Creation. Love your creativity and style~!!! Ill be ordering again soon. My husband is coming out of his shock coma from my last order. Time to send him whirling again LOL Be safe and congrats on your new studio!!!
Hi, for the lighting component did you glue a tea light holder behind it? I'm just wondering hold to add the tealight so its part of the Christmas tree.
Tabitha! What a super cute idea! I love the size of these (I'm trying to talk myself into a bigger kiln already! lol) You mentioned you used a light bender for the slumping mold....any chance you have a link to one so we can see what it looks like? Thanks! I'm ever learning! Beautiful project! Merry Christmas in 2021 :)
Hi Kristy, thank you for your comment and question. There are various sizes of the Light bender mould, and depending on the size of your kiln, the desired curve, size of your project, you could use any one of those. I'm adding a link to the one I used, from Warm Glass, but even they have 2 smaller sizes. warm-glass.co.uk/medium-lamp-bender-mould-8126-35-x-37cm-x-11cm-p-3798.html
It all depends on the shape of the mold you used to slump the project on. If they are not standing up, then you will have to grind the bottom of the tree until it does, as the corners are probably lower than the middle.
Yes you can use it on top but it will only stick to the glass and not itself so you end up with a very thin layer, it’s not so sparkly but is useful for patterns like this
Hi Annette, slumping involves heating glass to mold it into a specific, predictable shape, while draping allows the glass to flow freely over an object, creating organic and unpredictable forms.

No, for this particular project I just added a tea light behind the tree without attaching it.

@@TabithasGlassEmporium Thanks Tabitha! I appreciate your generosity! I'm learning so much from your channel! Thank you & Merry Xmas!! :)
I made some of these but smaller. I slumped them over a stainless steel mug. They won’t stand up and tip forward. Why is this please?
It all depends on the shape of the mold you used to slump the project on. If they are not standing up, then you will have to grind the bottom of the tree until it does, as the corners are probably lower than the middle.
I thought mica had to be capped as an inclusion. Glad to know it can be used this way.

Hi, I liket, I live in Canada Edmonton, I want to learn this course. Where can I find it ? If you have any idea tell me please?
Google fused glass, there is lots of resources on line but you will need to find somewhere with a kiln you can use.
What mold did you use?
I use a light bender
@@TabithasGlassEmporium What size?
WHY DO U CALL IT A SLUMP INSTEAD OF A DRAPE?
Hi Annette, slumping involves heating glass to mold it into a specific, predictable shape, while draping allows the glass to flow freely over an object, creating organic and unpredictable forms.
@@TabithasGlassEmporium Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!❤❤
Please have your camera person show what you are working on instead of randomly cruising around the table and showing bits you aren’t talking about.
