I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say, the storytelling that went into this video is just so beautiful, thought-through, and utterly heartbreaking
it’s a copy of the movie ‘eternal sunshine of the spotless mind’. it’s a beautiful story that explores love and loss. unfortunately ari doesn’t capture the moral of the story tho, that ultimately trying to erase pain also erases love and doing this only leads to a cycle of pain that perpetuates. we must embrace all of ourselves and memories to be whole. the name of the movie is ironic in that sense. a spotless mind is a one devoid of any memories or life. it’s impossible.

i was not expecting this to make me so emotional and actually cry. she's really become such a good actress. the pain in her was so real. i think what got me the most was the burning of the memories. it's hard to let go but when you do there is such a relief of being able to move on. i never cry at music videos, but because i went through something similar it hit harder.

This storyline is so relatable. The pain that you feel when the person you once thought it was the one which you would have spent your life with takes another path without you and you have to move on and get through a long healing from the heartbreak. Love is not a game 💔

However, there is a big difference between 'taking inspriration' and copying someone else's creative work almost scene for scene including filming techniques. I hope she does give credit where credit is due, but it is apparant from the comments here, that a huge number of fans here, think the video and the concept behind it, is a reflection of Ariana's creativity and is such an original idea, and are unaware that the work is a derivative copy of somebody else's work. This isn't some small creative, who is a fan of a movie, and is paying homage. This is a massive label, and one of the most iconic Pop artists of recent years, making a commercial product that is a copy of somebody elses creative work. That is the issue I have.

He was someone who could pull me out of a room of darkness. He was my everything, my light. We split apart due to misunderstanding that went too wrong. I regret not holding onto him. I forget that she can act deeper than all the happy emotions. She always gets casted in the dumb/pop star/clueless girl role, and don’t get me wrong she plays that well. I just forget that she has that other side that can be anxious and sad and portray it in these storytelling ways.

However, there is a big difference between 'taking inspriration' and copying someone else's creative work almost scene for scene including filming techniques.
I hope she does give credit where credit is due, but it is apparant from the comments here, that a huge number of fans here, think the video and the concept behind it, is a reflection of Ariana's creativity and is such an original idea, and are unaware that the work is a derivative copy of somebody else's work.
This isn't some small creative, who is a fan of a movie, and is paying homage. This is a massive label, and one of the most iconic Pop artists of recent years, making a commercial product that is a copy of somebody elses creative work.
