@Julianne Mc Lets not forget the suicide bombers and school age children that Palestinians have ruthlessly slaughtered. It all must come to an end, but neither side is "right", no side is innocent. And both sides must agree to end this nonsense of reciprocal violence. Israel has been a real **** recently, but you cant lay everything at their feet. After all, Israelis have not come to the conclusion that a one state solution is the best option in a vacuum, the Palestinians have pushed them to this decision. Now it will be twice as hard to find a solution; I doubt the Palestinians are going to apologize for the deaths caused by Qassam rockets, or the attempted kidnapping of Israeli children from pre-schools, or the knife attacks, or the vehicular homicides. It certainly does not help when a group of know nothing pseudo intellectuals are hired by foreign governments to spread propaganda that is completely biased and supports only one side and paints the other as demons! What a bunch of loser pawns.
This is a lie!
The people who are supposed to be evicted profited from ethnic cleansing of these areas from jews who lived there before 1948. Their property was property of Arab jews living there who were expelled by Jordanian forces who occupied the area until 1967 and banned them from returning. Israeli law allows for compensation of property if it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that this property was robbed from their families years ago. They proved this in the court of law and the palestinian families defended themselves and lost because their only argument was that the law on which this compensation is based, would be unfair. These palestinian families moved into the area long after 1948, it was stolen property given to them by the Jordanian authorities, stolen from jewish families in the ethnic cleansing of East Jerusalem and the West Bank by the Jordanians.

Any violent reaction from the Palestinians must be understood under that context. Israel has been the aggressor from day one, and when Palestinians fight back they are labelled as the aggressors instead. It is not the Palestinians who deny Jews to live in that land today, rather it is the Israelis who have always denied the Palestinians the right to their own land

This isn't happening in sheikh jarrah only, but all over Palestine. My grandfather has a house in Palestine but we couldn't get there because of complications. we visited this year for the first time in 10 years. according to the neighbors, 5 years ago a few soldiers broke the gate, shot bullets at the lights and broke some of the windows. settled in our house for 40 days. brought in their tanks, cars and weapons. then left as if nothing happened. oh how I wish I was there at that time and rebelled against them. Want to know the worst part of all of this? they were in Ramallah, in the areas they are not allowed to be in and then they think they have the right to shot at us when we are in 'their areas'.

that's a false statement, "ya ami" was never meant to respect the elders (at least in the Palestinian dialect and in the way she said it and in this specific scenario, i doubt you me or anyone else will have any respect for someone stealing our home)

I'm not saying that the Israelis didn't screw over the people that lived in the occupied territories but they had to take those positions because otherwise the enemy would be right at their doorstep.
