I got the 7800 back in the day when the NES launched, I wanted an NES but at the time the 7800 had more games and was cheaper, I took mercy on my parents wallet and asked for a 7800.
I had a 2600 and 5200 prior, I was a little disappointed as the 7800 had the 2600 sound chip and many of the games sounded terrible. The 5200 had some nicer looking and sounding games, but didn’t matter since the controllers broke in less than a year.
I got some fun out of the 7800 but by next Christmas I was begging for an NES

I yet to play a 5200. I certainly notice a big upgrade in music/sound when comparing the Nes/sega, with systems like my C64 and the atari 7800

    Bonsoir Monsieur R. Hippie,
Long time no see, comment ca va?
I had a 2600 and of course it really can't compare to the 7800 which my neighbor had back in the day. 150$ back then would probably be close to like about 300 today if I had to guess for inflation. I got a Nintendo in 86 and the rest was history. Like I said, my dad actually owned the an arcade in his pizza shop and you can see the graphics and sound in those games were way ahead of their time which could not be replicated on a console or a computer. I remember Super Pac-Man too which was even more fun, I flipped the score counter many times. My dad would open the machine where I could put many credits to keep me busy for hours when my homework and chores were done of course. I love all these nostalgic things but alas, I have less space these days and have pretty much sold off a lot of my things that would fall under that category. Forgive me if I'm asking you this again because it's been a minute, but you are a veteran right? That hat your wearing of course. Well the days are getting shorter and times are getting more uncertain, hope all is well with you up in the northwest. You're looking great as always, bonne courage mon ami et bonne nuit :)

Love the old pizza places and their arcades. I served a little over ten years in the Navy.

@@retrogaminghippie3720 Wow my dad served 4 years active and 6 in reserve in the navy. I should have joined the navy, but went to college, joined a band, and travelled halfway across the country. Yes, we had a couple of losers break in and destroy most of the games one night. Well planning a trip to go see my cousin in Northern Quebec in October, the train ride in upstate NY should be gorgeous with all the leaves changing. Until next video, bonne journee et bon courage!
