For the first time since Carlos Reutemann, Argentine F1 fans have a driver to be excited about. Franco Colapinto has exploded onto the F1 scene after his shock promotion to replace Logan Sergeant for the Italian Grand Prix. Two points finishes since then have led to fervent calls for the young Williams driver to get a seat in the sport from 2025 but his options are limited. However, a surprising opportunity may be opening up for him, but is it what he wants? And will Williams accept it? Today, I’ll check it all out, so don’t go anywhere.

After listening to his interviews, he seems to have the most understanding of how the car works better than any of his peers in F2 IMHO. He has translated it to F1. He'll be a #1 soon.
Colapinto has definitely made Albon look super underwhelming, which is quite amazing in just 4 GP's
Is it me or does Colapinto looks like young Ayrton Senna?
He does
I would give him a little more time to prove but for sure is quite close 😎
Someone on insta did a side by side comparison...he really does. 💙
A spitting image of Senna.
When I first saw him, I'll admit, it caught me of guard and I had a double take lol!
See what happens after this stint through the Americas. In 3 weeks we could be hearing something. James may have a tough decision on his hands. Albon has been OK for them but if Colapinto continues to beat him and shows that it isn't rookie luck and that he is truly ready, they might just cut him. Colapinto's added financial backing might make up the salary hit. Tough business, but Williams might be on the precipice of a big resurgence. Albon is sort of stained by their recent mediocrity. Franco could be a part of shedding that image. I'm definitely rooting for him and Williams at this point. I'd like to see Colapinto stay there and drive with Sainz. I'm a fan of Carlos and seeing him and Franco at a resurgent Williams in a year or two would be so great!!
Checo will be out of Red Bull, Sainz will use get out clause in Williams contract and will end up at Red Bull, Colapinto will stay at Williams.
That's what Peter Windsor said, too.
One of the major complaints about Lawson coming in was that he just didn't have that sponsorship clout behind him, but seeing those crowds for Colapinto in Austin, teams should absolutely be licking their lips and rubbing their coins together to leap over the fence to get this guy. To come in...as a rookie...and to have a built in fan base right off the bat is rare air. Not only that, he's good which is far more important in the long run. If I were Audi, I'd snatch him up immediately.
Not Alonso, not Sainz, Not Checo... The very first driver to make F1 post in social media in Spanish is Colapinto. XD. He sky rocketed Disney+ subs. F1 audience on Saturday has grown to more than double and +60% on Sundays... Williams had histories with 13k views... Now the have plenty on 2M to 4M mark... That level of visibility for branding is a lot of money even from the sponsor that aren't directly from Franco. As said, even F1 is milking his charisma in the medias...
His fanbase was there since F3, with F2 It got big and with F1 it became something national
Just wait for Sao Pablo race; it sold out a week ago, and they expect a massive crowd of supporters.
Redbull are so toxic, i'd be afraid that they'd break his joy and spirit. Franco is such a lovely young man and has been so fun to watch and cheer on. Marko is awful (case and point look what he is saying about Lando) but i even worry about Ollie Bearman being paired with Ocon. Tbf there are a few other seats that should be open that aren't. I hope that he gets a seat though, he definitely deserves it.
we need to question Albon's seat immediately. Now I think Franco and Sainz might be the better duo
If I were Albon, this would be my worst nightmare. He's essentially got a year to prove that he actually deserves to stay in that seat because if Colapinto doesn't get a drive for '25, surely Vowel's is going to be calling him right back.
@@Banyo__ seriously. And the questionable radio chatter about "they race me so hard" etc.
Another quote “Franco just divebombed me!”. Jesus Christ. It’s racing.
If Colapinto keeps this up then he should replace Albon. Don't think James will be that cutthroat though
You can’t replace a reliable, highly marketable and high performing driver like Albon based on a rookie being on his pace.
At the end of the day, Franco has been incredible and deserves a seat, but the negative effect on the brand, team moral etc would far outweigh the potential small performance difference.
I think Franco is a great talent and maybe if Albon is destroyed next year there is a seat for Franco. But realistically they can’t get him in.
@@benhayes5396Well... The point here is that the reliable driver in Williams at this very moment is Franco, not Alex. And since Sargeant leave, Alex is top 1 in world destructors champion... He is almost in 3 millons on damage mark. Alex since Monza GP got 8 points... And Franco 5 (and the point in Singapore was lost to slow reaction from box to Checo's undercut) At this pace, Franco could be on top in points over Albon.
James said he is going to have the best reserve driver... But he didn't said who is it.
@@benhayes5396 HIghly marketable Albon?.....................
@@danielcalero3929 for the lucrative Thai market
you think I'm joking, check the Redbull ownership %s
@@danielcalero3929 Albon tiene bastante atencion de patrocinadores asiaticos, por lo que lei...
I love Alex Albon, truly, but I do think that it would perhaps be the best move for Williams to replace him with Colapinto to drive besides Sainz. He's consistently out performed Alex, who only compared well next to struggling teammates. he's the full package. talented, personality, mass fan appeal (especially to a south American audience), and sponsor appeal. Also, I think he and Sainz would be excellent for the team with their clear understanding of strategy and Sainz could act as a mentor to Colapinto as he begins his official debut. Plus they would create natural synergy and appeal to the mostly untapped south American market as two Spanish speaking drivers.
If I am Team Boss, of any team (except Ferrari or McLaren, right now ) He will be in my Team next year 1000%
Please keep Colapinto away from Red Bull the culture there requires driving to survive for years so Lawson is use to it.
jajjaaja totalmente, aparte a la primera de cambio, DESCARTADO!
He definitely looks like Senna
Honestly? Keep him as a reserve, and evaluate next year. Albon will let you know real quick if he's grown as a driver, or if having a strong teammate is still his Achilles' heel. If you are thinking of moving on from Albon it'll cost way less money doing it after next year than this year. Calopinto will be there for you either way.
Bro have you watched Texas? He was faster than Lawson.
VERY READY FOR F1
@@Skafiskafnjak51 Bro have you watched f1 in the past five years? When has being ready ever mattered lol. They created an artificial bottleneck by only allowing 10 teams to compete and this is the result. Deserving drivers are left on the sideline. He's not the only driver ready for a shot who needs a seat.
This is probably the answer. He can go back to F2 next year as well, so it isn't like he isn't going to be racing for a year. I think Sainz is going to expose Albon big time next year and Williams might be keen to get Colapinto in instead
@@F1REVERSE I don't think James will let him return to F2. He will probably stay as a reserve, study engineering to help with tactics and replace albon when the difference with Sainz is too big.
@@ABCav-n9f he already mention that. He won't go back to F2 anymore
He has that vibe. He's gunna do well. Sounds ballsy enough and definitely talented enough to maybe straighten RB out and balance the team. 🤷♂️ Needs a drive next year from whoever though, I hope he gets it.
Williams should drop Albon…
Are you Argentinian by chance...
Interesting with the hard tire start, but it's not a bad idea given that the car is heavier at the start than at the end. The first laps are the laps where the disadvantage of the hard tires would be most notable, but the long term benefit could outweigh that.
He's great at managing the car with hard tires. It was his idea...and he had to convice Williams to do it. He's always been very involved in the mechanics of all of his cars. He's a true gem.
Do not go to Red Bull. Even if you stay a reserve at Williams. Don’t do it dude.
Vamos los que queremos alejarlo de RB!
I am amazed the Yuki is still driving for RB. He is a hot head, and Austin showed that again. Free up a seat by removing Yuki and bring Colapinto or an academy driver with the right temperament
If you were a young driver, would you want to drive for Red Bullies? No, way he's going to drive for the dark side.
@@WWade-cm8hx I would be happy to get a drive with the limited availability of seats. Then like Colapinto, Lawson and Piastri prove that you can drive
Show Albon the door
The kid needs to be in F1 for 2025
The move is Sainz (his contract allows him to go to a better team) to Red Bull and Franco staying in Williams with Albon
donde publicaron las clausulas del contrato?
A lot of people saying that Franco doesn't have an impressive CV, but if you look carefully you will realize that Franco always finished at the top 10 in championships while racing for mid-table teams. And he always beat his team mates. So yeah, some people we always knew he is special
I wonder how the dynamic would shift if Franco ends up outscoring Albon.
That last position is to preserve the dynamic duel, KMAG and Hulk!!!
2:32, the correct translation would be better: come on, come on, 'we're going to start at 15' would be 'yeah, we're going to start at 15 anyway'.
Aguante Argentina
They shouldn't be looking into adding more tracks to the calendar unless they alternate them over following years.
The number of races a year is currently ridiculous and unsustainable. If anything they need to drop races/tracks.
Possibly only having one race in the US and one in South America.
how about more tracks in the rest of the world and reducing in the only continent that has far more than any: europe...
@@pilotoespacial3000 jejejej totalmente XD
Loving seeing this guy race
Sergio has been so bad its really time for him to go
It’s amazing to me that they let Danny Ric go in the way they did but keep Checo. He must have some pretty good stuff on Horny Horner!
@@officialWWM ive always been a big Ric fan but was time for him to go to hes past it
@@RumblesBettr I agree. His performance in recent years has been so inconsistent. He always has the ability to pull a great performance out of the bag, bringing big wins to both McLaren and Renault but for some reason, he lost his edge. Maybe too many off track distractions? 🤷🏻♂️
My point is, they have axed him mid season and kept Sergio, who is going to cost RB the constructors championship. It’s mind boggling.
@@officialWWM yea i totally agree crazy he got let go before perez. Hope ric goes on to have success in another series maybe Indy. Worked well for a Roman and i think Danny is a far more talented driver
@@RumblesBettr personally, I’d love see him pop up in a tv presenter role!
Colapinto in the RedBull family not definitly a god idea. Everything there circles around nervous pointy cars who anybody can drive, and Max Verstppen and the marko´s big mouth... Not a god environment to thrive...
100%. Seems like a toxic place to be.
@@gunningopher ☢Paddock☢🤢🤮💀
Lawson to red bull or collipinto .
I would take collipinto
Everyone has predicting the end of Checo for years, so even if it is the end he still had a good run. Maybe Checo will replace Horner.
It"s always the question :) ! Liked this video , GJ!
Sack Vestapen and bring back Pastor Maldonado 💥🏎️
lol good joke.
I think Albon is the problem.
Anyone can beat him by the looks.
I thought they had brought in Rowan simply because he speaks espanol but it seems like he might have some driving skill, time will tell
Liam Lawson is better
He has a better car than Franco, even if I addmit Lawson is good, he is not better driver.
I can understand lawson, but why could franco be the end for checo? Kimi Raikonnen is still cooler than both of them tho.
Red Bull should 100% sack Checo and replace him with Yuki, giving Colapinto the VCARB seat. Franco will easily replace Checo in merchandising with Central and South America, gives Yuki a year to prove he deserves the seat and lets Franco and Liam duel for that seat in 2026 if Yuki doesn't live up to it.
The money Williams can get for releasing him (he is still under contract as a Williams driver even if he isn’t in a seat) would be a great boost.
Red Bull or even a team like Audi will be happy to pay for a great young driver who will pay that back long term with South American sponsorship
I don't like Red Bull for Franco. He must stick with Williams or wait for another seat.
Mexico is NOT Central America.
Ya sabemos, es Norteamerica color carton... XD
Albon and Yuki, must get out. Franco deserves a seat, definitely !! !! !
How can be someone with Dominicali money be so uneducated to say that Mexico is "Central América" for F Sake!?!?!?
...WELL,MAYBE LIKE....MAX LEAVES AND COL+LAW AT REDBULL
....SOUNDS AWESOME,HEHE
🇦🇷🇦🇷
Argentina does not have the same purchasing power as the Mexican, so he does not carry the same weight for marketing purposes as Checo, not even close.
True, but Argentine fans are seriously passionate. You should see what they will spend to go to the World Cup.
Don't worry about our money. That's not a problem.
And you probably don't know that Argentineans support their champs 100%. Mexican are very conditional. They're very critical of their own people. And lose interest pretty quick. Not us. We're crazy about cars. F1 is the second most watched sport after soccer in Argentina. You wouldn't know that because you need to do your research. Plus...name 1 sport in which Mexico is better than Argentina. A popular one...exactly.
Look at the last world cup and let us know what country moved more fans to there from the farest place... Money isn't a issue, believe me.
Money is no problem, believe me. It is true that we are in an economic crisis but Argentines spend money still and more on sports. When the World Cup was in Qatar, it was full of Argentinians.
Lol considering there isnt a point for the faatest lap now him loosing fastest lap meant nothing really
That starts next season. Ocon didn't get the point because he wasn't in the points, Franco would have got it.
you are wrong, he lost 1 point as he was getting points
@@vincat84 there is no fastest lap point anymore you fucking idiot
He is already the equal of Albion in just a few races
What a channel full of trash
F1 Reverse. It is getting old. You are always finding drivers to replace Checo. Do you hate him or what is your problem. Why don’t you do a recap of all the videos you have made in regards to replacing Checo?? I think you have a problem.
I like Cheko but he is just done with at this point. There are too many new drivers out there that could probably finish than him, and certainly no worse. Red Bull would have had the constructor's locked up by now with probably any of the major upcomers in his seat.
