Stihl 500i and Kioti tractor w/grapple bucking firewood.

This was supposed to be a comparison video between the Stihl 500 and the 462. I ran out of daylight for the comparison, so I'll have to do that in the next video. This one is pretty much just using the 500, and showing how well the tractor/grapple, and bucking table work for my application. I think it really works well for us.

Getting things done! Looks like both saws are ripping pretty well. I agree, grapples sure make loading logs so much easier that forks. Forks can certainly do it, but grapples do it better.

Ya, I've had the 462 for a few years now. I could have easily not gotten the 500 and been perfectly happy with the 462. I got the 500 because it's been the hot ticket for guys for two or three years now, and I wanted to see if all of the hype was warranted. I DO like it a lot, but if I didn't have it, I'd have no problem working with the 462 every day either.
