You care to share some more information on the mounts for the rear skid to bolt onto the chassis, like the dimensions. I have an 95 583 formula z that I’m swapping to have an 670 and adding the 96 sc10 to it.
You can use the existing front hole in the tunnel no matter what size skid you're swapping in. The 121 SC10 center to center distance is 24 3/4". So if you have a 121 measure 24 3/4" back from the front hole and that's where the center of your rear bracket should be. Same process for a 136 except the CTC distance is 30". FYI the ctc distance is less than what the skid would measure sitting free on the floor. They have to be slightly preloaded to function correctly in the machine. So once you have your brackets measured and bolted in you'll have to use ratchet straps to slightly compress the skid to get it to fit in. That's really all there is to it.
Hi Northwoods, just wondering why u wouldnt find a 500,600 or 700 motor for that zx chassis instead of improving the heavier f chassis?? Its a lighter and better handling platform....
Bro what did you end up doing with the front suspension? I have a 1996 STX583 I I would like to know if I can make the machine ride better. Great vids. Thanks.
I shoved 14" shocks out of an s chassis in this one. Super tight fit, bit it was doable. If you're willing to ditch the sway bar i think you could easily get the 15" adjustable HPGs in. Handling would probably suck on trail though without the sway bar and these things are tippy enough as is.
I've got a 95 formula ss 670 and have been thinking about doing this swap but the sled is so clean with fairly low miles for the year that I don't have the courage to pull the trigger. I've modified every toy I've had or have. This one I can't decide because I don't think I'll find another as clean, especially for what I paid. Nice sled, I really like that color. How does she ride now?
Thanks, much appreciated. There's a noticeable difference in the ride quality. Can't beat the extra travel and it does help keep the skis on the ground. It's still not a rev though. I'm not a huge fan of the SC10-2, but it's what I had at the time and still a step up from the C7. As far as doing the swap, I'd say go for it, especially if you plan to put some miles on the sled.
Nice project!!!
Nice work 💪🏻👍🏻

Is your skid a 121 or 136? I'm working rn, but I can give you a detailed answer in about 2 hours.

Next time leave out the crap music.....makes it too hard to watch...

Thanks. Now I will look for a parts sled. 👍
Thanks again from Alaska
@@wesbullock1233 no problem! Good luck with the build!
