@@jamesstuart3238 It affects the back pressure in the cylinder so the diesel won’t combust. I don’t know for sure why but I know it does affect it when you are trying to start it.
I’m not tryna be a dink but this truck should start just fine even with the exhaust completely removed. Diesels do not need back pressure. If your glow plugs work, the truck should fire right up in the cold.

I just ordered battery cables cause they were shot. I’m sure it could use glow plugs as well.
