    Great lesson! Shows in fine detail all the important variations and subtle nuances that make this song so good. Also, I really appreciate the way you've used your black shirt, blending in with a black background, visually presenting just the guitar and your hands - no other unnecessary distractions, so clean, clear and simple - it works so well! Thank you!

    what a innovative guitar player keith is. I am more amazed today than I ever was. he was such a player. such a cool dude as well. heard his biography and he is awe inspiring. guy is still kicking. not many can say that of his ilk. I am so impressed with that guy. he is real. real steel, from pittsburg England.

    The all down strokes rhythm you see alot of you tube players use does no justice for this great riff. The rhythm is so dynamic to get the feeling or groove you need to get this great riff into your fingers. Thanks for time you took to make this lesson. Nice one.

    1) incredibly easy to understand your lesson. Well done! 2) plus, what amazing tone! You've got the perfect amount of crunch. It's not too distorted, just a bit of crunch. The energy of the Stone's (Keith's) playing really comes through. Fantastic!

    So "simple" but so amazing. And I'm not trying to diminish the rhythm at all.The players of this era were so melodic and catchy. And still going strong.

    Fascinating video! As a piano and once-acoustic guitar player, I’m just wondrous at all the guitar licks Keith and Mick (Taylor) employed to bring about this song. Since I’ve seen the Stones seven times in concert over a 40-year period, I’d agree that they are indeed the best rock and roll band in the world!

    First hit song on commercial radio from that period to use alternate tuning that I'm aware of. Hell, nobody I knew even knew it was alternate tuning at the time, most bar bands tried to play it using standard tuning, with expected results. Whole new world.

    At age 15 in 1990, being a lifelong Beatles fan, I picked up a copy of Hot Rocks 1964-1971 out of curiosity as to who this band was that seemingly in competition with the Beatles. Two tracks jumped out of me: Honky Tonk Women and Brown Sugar. Those were the songs that made me say "I gotta get a guitar." I've always thought Brown Sugar was one of the most fun songs I know of to play. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to see them live before this gem was cut from the set list. You did a fabulous job here, as always! All the best!

    I'm really impressed with your lessons! You are nailing these perfectly and I love your teaching style. Makes me want to pick up the guitar again! I've had a copy of Let It Bleed in my truck CD player for some time now, it's all I've listened to. Occurred to me that as much as I enjoy listening to the virtuoso players, you don't need to play at any higher level than what the Stones achieved. It's brilliant...

    Thank you soooo much for this. I really appreciate that you dissect both Keith's and Mick's parts separately. I'm playing this with some friends and fib myself hitting notes that just seem to dominate the original recording. Sometimes it's Keith, sometimes it's Mick. I'm blown away by your ability to play all of these variations from memory!

    As I'm only just starting out on my journey into guitars, this was way ahead of me, but none the less a fantastic watch. The way it was broken down from the tuning of the guitar the breakdown of chords and slowing things down to emphasise the structure of the song. All in all a great lesson, one I'll be coming back to when the time is right. Thank you for the inspiration please keep up your great work, it is by far the best YT tutorial I've stumbled across. Thanks again 👍👍

    • @billwebber5208
      @billwebber5208 4 роки тому +1

      No it's not!.
      He makes the same chord shapes several times. Just take your time, don't over do it but practise as much as you can. Your fingers will get stronger each day. Notice this the next day after rest, yesterdays work is now easier.
      Muscles in your fingers will gather their own memory leaving you to concentrate more on other things.
      Keep practising and going over the video. It might take you longer but you will get there and sooner than you think.
      Sometimes it's nice to have a difficult challenge . It means that you can go over small parts bit by bit until it comes together. This guy is an excellent teacher and player, your in the right place.
      Learn some other staff as well. When you get fed up with going over the same bit's then switch to something else and come back to this and learn another small part. Each time it will get easier and your learning will get faster, you muscle memory will form and you will become a rock star.
      When this happens you contact me now so I can be your manager. Good luck have fun dude.
