Are you throughout heaven and earth nad I’d win because your stand proud your strong or are you always bet on hakari because your with this treasure I summon
I'm old enough to have experienced y2k style as a kid and entered my teens in time for aero. It's awesome experiencing nostolgia so easily because its so well preserved but also disconcerting when young gen z say they wish they were there during the time (because it's retro now?) Now I know how my mom felt when 70s and 80s fashion got popular in the 2000s!
I kinda wish this aesthetic still continue till this day but it's sad to see it's only roughly around 2004 to 2013. It was a vision of how I see the future would look like when I was a kid. It feels like home...
Yeah, while minimalism can look good if done right, at least before we could tell that effort was put in and wasn’t made in ms paint or with like 10 lines of html. Plus Fruitiger Aero makes you feel refreshed, gives positive vibes, and really depicts a utopia where nature and humans coexist, or in other words, Pokémon.
Im trying to bring this aesthetic back but what's cool is. I come from a country in Africa called Gambia and most of the countries in Africa are still developing so everywhere you go you see glossy textures old style advertising and even old technology which is really cool hopefully we can bring this aesthetic back! ❤❤❤❤
I miss this era, but still most ppl still don't know what frutiger aero is in conversation though unfortunately, I'd love to chat about it and remember the time period and vibe
I kinda think Spongebob (atleast the early one) also contributed a lot to frutiger aero, it's ocean-core vibe and aesthetic it used to transmit with its bright colors and calm music kinda felt like it was following the trends of that era, and at the same time made tons of designers and artist to focus way more into the oceanic and bubbly stuff
Frutiger aero is just opposite of this generation. Colourfull Glossy turn to minimalist grey black white , pure ocean turn to dumping ground , green trees to building and blue chilling sky to black depressing cloud with super heat summer but hey , many people are acknowledging this things these day so future might be bright. 🌻
Missed mention im the 'Music' section of this aesthetic, that in 2006 major artist Beyoncé released her sophomore album "B'Day" that had a earthly, watery texture of the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, her videos completes the album with it aswell. Just something worth to mention, many people forgets or doesn't remember to mention or even talk about this.
i remember random ads coming on when i was around 3 - 6 with this style. i just recently learned what it is called. thanks, now im gonna watch frutiger aero ad compilations
They're so awesome aren't they? I think you could also buy them alongside a humanoid muscular robot and a dog of some kind. I know that the robot came in different colors too like a metallic red and blue
Quartz Quadrant from Sonic CD is from the 90s, but it still gives me these vibes of a "promised future". It probably has to do with the themes of the game itself, which focuses on Sonic creating a bright, "eco" future for Little Planet
Dont be sad guys, lets just all together as a generation try to make the world a little bit more like this so our sons and daughters and us can experience that feel once again, but now better.
youtube algorithm going crazy with frutiger aero right now all i did was watch 1 minecraft video slightly related to this and now its my whole reccomended page which is good i want more of this
Owl City mentioned in this video?! Dude, you have no idea how much this made me happy. Not gonna sound like a fanboy, but his music makes me feel things!!!
you never know, it may make a comeback! i was a teenager in the 00s and i see a lot of fashion popular when i was presumably your age returning since i live in a university city.
I think the music for the PSN store on the PlayStation Vita is another example of Frutiger Aero. I remember as a kid, I would log on to the PSN store just to listen to the music. (Funniest part is that I didn't even have PSN back then.) Also, Flower mentioned at 16:00. Edit: Here's the link to the song, if anyone wants to listen: ua-cam.com/video/7GLRGJFSnnU/v-deo.htmlsi=cdo-TGJNlpoR1phR
For me, the aesthetic comes even before Windows Vista came out. Certain distributions of Linux, namely Mandrake (before the Mandriva rebrand) and SuSE Linux around version 8 started having the style in their K Desktop Environment when it hit v3.0 (KDE, not the distros). Mandrake's and SuSE's branding had the glossy elements along with metallic as early as 2001. Moreso when its "compositor" (graphics/effects backend for the UI) was Compiz. THAT also added a lot of transparency and other effects associated with such a desktop from that era. Then there's also Mac OS X prior to Snow Leopard (10.6). That brushed aluminum look along with the glossy icons, dock, and close/minimize/maximize buttons. Especially in 10.0-10.3, where it was even glossier (especially with iTunes, iWork, etc from around 2002-2005). It really sold Macs as the "powerful-but-user-oriented". And I say this as a lifetime Windows user.
Personally I do not wish to entirely go back to the way things were, It's just that I wish we could reflect on it and to perhaps draw more of the ideals and design elements into today if that makes sense. When life actually felt fun and worth living, not just bland and sterile and corporate. Add a bit of whimsy and joy for life and optimism for the future, don't be afraid to play around a bit and experiment, that kind of thing you know? Plus actually incorporating an appreciation for the environment itself back into things is pretty desperately needed right now hahah. Just,, being more user-friendly in general.
I also feel it is a much friendlier and joyful approach for children to experience than the bland minimalistic ones we have now. Like can you imagine your childhood nostalgia being sad beige and grey minimalist aesthetic? I just don't think it would probably be filled with the same joy and wonder hahah
as someone experienced with vaporwave, dreaam corp sounds very vaporwave. also y2k and seapunk(subgenre considered related to vaporwave but allegedly getting it's start mid 2000s) seem similar enough. i can almost think of a lot of these internet aesthetics being a rough spectrum that overlaps into each other
i miss a lot of things from the 2000s .but the one thing i don't miss is the music even most Frutiger Aero fans tend to pick video game and movie soundtracks instead of mainstream music from the 2000s. and modern attempts at "fruiter aero music" sounds too retro more like 80s or early 90s music or even older types of music
This might seem like a very odd choice, but Kemono Friends: Kingdom gives me very Frutiger Aero. Both aqua, and eco. The story itself mostly revolves around a park once populated. The city areas have an amazing mix of human made buildings, and it being taken over by nature. Some of the backgrounds and beautiful, and feel very aqua aero. Also ironic the game might shut down soon, like Frutiger Aero going away
Well theres no definitive signs of the game shutting down. It’s been running for a while so good sign it’ll stay up for a while. Just no new content aside from re-runs. To me, this is the only downside of the game that isn’t a fault of the game itself.
XP, VISTA, 7 = AERO 8 = metro back in those days I dont know how to install windows 7 OS in my computer so I am only applying different themes to make my windows xp look like windows 7 like transparency tools, the glass task bar and window and i dont care even my ram is crying running all of it hahahah and then i discovered using UXtheme patcher and applying windows 7 or 8 transformation pack it made look even better and there are also a lot of other OS theme available back then like macOS and vista and then microsoft finally release windows 8 in 2012 where simple vector arts becomes trend wallpaper specially the fish

It feels like the Aero style is focusing on nature. Specifically water. With its shininess and the color blue
all the water and fish motifs were actually meant to show off the graphics of the new technology!! and im so glad it was frutiger is perfect
@@angelvitiated So basically, it's like when GTA V graphics mods show off the rain. Because the puddles have so much reflection
water and green
Thanks Sherlock

This aesthetic feels like home to me its just that comforting

This is actually really interesting. So you’re country is basically a time capsule back to the 2000s
yes! this is happening in my country zambia too!
I love that.
It’s nice that I now have a name for this vibe, makes me so nostalgic. It always makes me think of the DSi camera app and the Wii gallery.
I miss this era, but still most ppl still don't know what frutiger aero is in conversation though unfortunately, I'd love to chat about it and remember the time period and vibe
Games like Spore, The Sims, and loads of popcap titles like Bejeweled were examples of this.
even tho i didnt get to experience it, it still makes my cry out of nostalgia
this is the best explanation of this I've seen so far.
tiktok seems to think it's just water and fish but it's so much more.
hey cool thanks :D

Hey thanks :) much appreciated
the windows xp start music is a perfect example of frutiger aero music imo
i like this aesthetic, it makes me comfy and i feel calm but not too calm, its perfect just like your videos
:]
Ngl i miss this era when i was in middle school - high school before the 2010s minimalism took over. Brings a lot of memories.
The most underappreciated and not often discussed Fruitiger Aero game is GROW ISLAND
"the future we were promised but never received"
fuck that just makes me sad
Ah this aesthetic....i love it, i was born in 2006 and now i keep searching the aesthetic because it's nostalgic
i'm so excited people are noticing it and some people are attempting to bring it back but i'm just nervous it'll get tiktok-ifyed.
That could be the next step for it. But only time will tell if that's a good or bad thing
i guess so !!@@Sunflower41XD
I love Fruitiger Aero Plus Skeuomorphic.
1:06 I HAVE THAT DINOSAUR!!! 22 YEARS OLD NOW AND I STILL LOVE IT
They're so awesome aren't they? I think you could also buy them alongside a humanoid muscular robot and a dog of some kind. I know that the robot came in different colors too like a metallic red and blue
I'm also 22, you were born in 2001 like me! I'm glad we both got to experience Fruitiger Aero : D

;-; that Nintendo Dsi Camera music hit my soul. It was the most peaceful ambient music ever.
This is probably the best defining video of frutiger aero I've ever seen.
I miss this era
I can't describe why, but I LOVE EVERY release you make 😍 dont give up and thank you for all your time researching and making videos
woah thanks!
I think the Endless Ocean games are a good example too!
and we're getting a new one 🥰
@@TheTrueXaver yes!!! such exciting news!
Been holding off on watching this video for some reason. Glad im watching it now
been thinking of this aesthetic for a month now and am so pleased with your mini doc 🙌

Owl City mentioned in this video?! Dude, you have no idea how much this made me happy. Not gonna sound like a fanboy, but his music makes me feel things!!!
Considering im still kinda young, and i was born basically in the middle of frutiger aero, im kinda sad i wasnt able to fully witness it.
you never know, it may make a comeback! i was a teenager in the 00s and i see a lot of fashion popular when i was presumably your age returning since i live in a university city.
Well made video and thanks for making me feel as if I had experienced my childhood again ❤
I had that fishlamp as a teenager. Minimalism is boring, i miss the fun of the 00s design and i hope we lean more into maximalism again.
Your video topics always itch that reminiscent part of my brain, and it makes me happy. Keep up all the good work, dawg
Man those were the days...
Truly a bygone era

If you play Genshin Impact, Fontaine underwater scenario and music is a bit of modern frutinger aerto.
Waay better than the souless minimalism stuff of today a child could make on Paint
You're a legend for mentioning Sanctum 2
A video has never made zero sense to so much sense and nestalgia so quick. Love this video.
