Trying for Georgia Tarpon

- I have been trying to catch the elusive Georgia coast tarpon here in Saint Mary's. It has not been easy! I have found the fish with no issues but I run into line or equipment issues or just plain miss them! Paul and I went after them today and there was no shortage of action but we did not land one. I m not giving up until I get one. We used live pogies. #georgiatarpon, #saintmarysga, #georgiafishing,

I live in Fernandina, also retired.Have been trying to land one off the beach too. Have caught them at the jetties but love the visual of fishing those pogie pods with the tarpon and sharks busting the bait.

If you have a Florida license you can try the mouth of Tiger Basin. I was over there yesterday and had 8 tarpon busting on the point directly south of the tower. They were literally like 10 feet from my kayak. Good luck!
I had a guy that did my driveway that told me he tarpon fished over there all the time and was pretty successful.He just said Tiger Creek he was not that specfic about where.
@@NICHOLSRETIREMENTEMPIRE if you catch the tide right you'll see the water flooding into tiger creek so hard it will actually be flowing back out along the south bank. It makes a big current seam and the tarpon will show themselves if they are there! Pretty cool had a couple airborne the other day until I turned the gopro on of course. I've hooked two on topwater back there before

You need to use some 60 pound mono or steel liter that line too light I hooked up on one down here in Jacksonville last week on a finger mullet on a 250 size Real
I had 60 lb, the one I lost here may have been because of my knot
