- Dry chlorine shock is a higher concentration of pool shock. Of the brands/types carried at Hansen's, all dry shock is rated at 68% or more for available Chlorine. This is compared to liquid Chlorine's shock rating at 12.5% Available Chlorine. That means it would take 6.24 gallons of liquid shock to make up just one bag of Turbo Shock!
This was helpful. I had no idea about the differences.
So one bag of granules is equivalent to how many gallons of liquids?
I usually use 8 gallons a week, how many bags would I need? Do I mix it with water before putting it into pool?
Hello! How many gallons is your pool?
a gal of liquid = 8.3 lbs so you are adding in 8.3lbs vs 1lb of dry its about the same shock
Hello! Liquid Chlorine is not measured in lbs, it is measured in volume. So it would be different.
