Navigation System Overview (if so equipped)
Your vehicle's Navigation System has an information center with a color monitor. This is your Navigation System's control panel. Vehicle functions are viewed on a series of screens. Your Navigation System starts when the ignition is in the ACC or ON position.
To access and navigate the various screens, you will use this multi-funtion controller, the command buttons and the BACK button. With this system, the touch screen can perform the same operations as the multi-function controller. Touch an item to select.
The controller consists of a center button and an outside ring that works like a dial. The dial will enable you to find an action on one of the many display screens and move around on map screens. The center button, marked ENTER, allows you to select an item or perform an action. You can also push the entire controller in any direction like a joystick to move around on screens.
The DAY/ NIGHT OFF button, displays alternate views of a day screen and a night screen. Press this button for more than two seconds to turn the display OFF. Press again, to turn the display ON. Press the DAY/ NIGHT OFF button, then turn the center dial, to adjust the brightness of the display.
The BACK button can be used in three ways. If you press it while in a setup screen, before the setup has been completed, it will cancel the operation and return you to the previous screen. On a settings screen, pressing the BACK button will finish the setup process by applying the setting. You can also use this button to delete characters that have already been entered.
Pressing the INFORMATION button will display vehicle and navigation information.
Press the STATUS button to display the current status of a host of vehicle systems including: Audio Controls, the Navigation System and Fuel Consumption.
Press MAP to display your current location's map screen.
Press VOICE to get a repeat of voice instructions to a particular guide point.
