Merry Christmas Clint and all the wonderful people on this channel. Enjoy the holidays and hopefully the next year will be at least as good. And thanks for all your work! :)
Oh my god. I'm probably one of your younger set of viewers, so I rarely see something I'm genuinely nostalgic for on this channel... But as someone who obsessively played freeware in mid-2000s, I loved this game! Thank you so much for covering it!
What a year it's been for the channel, cheers to all the new and old subscribers all here to share their memories of PC gaming. Merry Christmas to everyone, and let's all make the effort to move onward and upward in 2018!
Me being from 2000, this game was a staple in computer class in my school circa 2008. Most computers had Windows XP on them and this and Icy Tower was on pretty much every one. I even remember printing sheets of level passwords for my friends because I was the only one with a printer.
I LOVED Free Lunch Design. I played the crap out of a lot of his games back in the day. Happyland, Operation Spacehog, Alex the Alligator, and Hellcarrier were my favorites.
LGR thank you. I completely forgot about this game, I used to play this so much as a kid. I'm glad you've bought this back into my life. It makes me feel even older even though i'm only turning 21 in January. Gotta play this again.
No waaaay. I've been looking for this game forever... It's the first game I ever played that had a level editor, and it blew my mind. I had no idea it was even popular.
Hahahaha, wow. I've been telling myself to tell you about this game for weeks but I guess I forgot. Nice video LGR! (I still have the floppy disk with a copy of the game I made to play at a friend's house who had no internet at the time) Ahh.. the memories. :)
i forgot about this game! i spent SO many hours playing happyland, i remember having scraps of paper on my desk where i wrote down all the passwords as i passed each level. oh god, 2000...i was 12/13 years old. this was an awesome trip down memory lane, thank you!
This game had a pretty good level editor. I used to make huge, sprawling levels with lots of secrets. My friends would play this game in school. I miss it!
It was one of the few games I played on my dad's PC after the divorce but before I moved in another town, and practically never sow him again. I remembered this game, but never found it's name. Thank you for opportunity to play it once again!
Just wanted to point out it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere when it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere, so a summery Christmas isn't that wrong :P
Ahhh dude, thanks a lot. I've been searching for this for a long freaking time. I remember having it from a magazine and having a blast with it but completely forgot it's name.
If so many people have played Happyland Adventures, I'm surprised that there's no community around it with newer versions and improvements, level packs and so on. Also, makes me wonder what the author is doing nowdays...
Omg! I'm gonna have to give you a massive thanks as well! This legit made me cry a little, totally forgot about this little gem :') Merry christmas everyone!
Oh wow, I have so much nostalgia for that sprite set! Never knew it was called SpriteLib though. It was the default sprite set used in a GameMaker-like program I used as a kid, called Game Editor.
Wow! I played this when I was a kid who mostly got to play shareware games (damn how I wanted a gamecube back then), this brings back so many special memories. Thank you for bringing up these things which otherwise I'd never get to remember, and keep up the spectacular work in 2018!
Man, I used to play this game to no end when I discovered it!!! Awesome, amazing, fun times! :D This is the vibe a platformer should have. :) Awesome videos, man! This is why I keep coming to your channel. So much nostalgia. :)
My sister downloaded this alongside Icy Tower on our old XP after she and i played it on our school computers. The theme song is SUPER catchy and i had it stuck in my head even after i had nearly forgotten the game completely. I actually found out about it again thanks to redownloading Icy Tower on my windows 7 laptop and seeing it with the other free lunch games! Never played the X-Mas edition much, but this video brings back good memories!
Happyland Adventures. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a _long_ time... Thanks LGR! I'm pretty sure most PCs on my primary school had a copy of this game.
0:48 I just caught a glimpse of that screenshot of Alex the Alligator 4 screenshot! I was looking for that game a while ago but couldn't remember the name.
Cute design, Cute gameplay, Cute sound... Cute speed! This game is truly the Holiday Game for everyone. Unlike the other fancy 3D graphical games around.
That is some glorious use of the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. Undesirable as some find it these days, it's a nostalgic sound for me along with Sound Blaster opl3 music.
Ah yes I remember getting this when I was younger, I believe I got it off of CNET's Download website. I just played a small bit of the non holiday themed version, but this game definitely has some charm to it and outstanding work done by a single developer.
This was one of my favorite games from my childhood, and I recommend you also check out icy tower made by the same company (and their other classic games).
I've been playing the holiday levels of Jazz Jackrabbit and also some Crusader with the holiday music that automatically plays whether you want it or not in December. Also Gex: Enter the Gecko has a X-Mas holidays world so I felt obligated to play that too.
This is the final Christmas game review of 2017! It's been quite a year on LGR and I do hope you've enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas :)
Crystal Caves!? When is it coming? :D Merry Christmas to you, too. :)
Merry Christmas Clint and all the wonderful people on this channel. Enjoy the holidays and hopefully the next year will be at least as good. And thanks for all your work! :)
We love you Clint. Have a Merry Christmas

None of them are adults yet, at least.
Well, none of them are adults for the next 6 days still.

What a year it's been for the channel, cheers to all the new and old subscribers all here to share their memories of PC gaming. Merry Christmas to everyone, and let's all make the effort to move onward and upward in 2018!
I have been waiting for this day for SO LONG.

Love the recreation of the old intro! Keep up the good work man!
I was just thinking this would be a perfect LGR game. My favorite Christmas game tbh.
I watched an entire Pitch Perfect 3 ad for you LGR, that is how much I enjoy your videos! :) Keep up the good work man!
I'm sorry
I love the classic style intro.
The intro and a xmas review. Man, I love you Clint!

I was playing this game A LOT
I WAS TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE GAME FOR OVER A DECADE NOW! Thank you so much for this review!:D
we downloaded this game onto our school computers in elementary school. Nowadays I don't know anyone who heard of this game.
That same sampled music was used in MOTAS (Matter Of Time And Space), one of the first internet room escape games.
Merry Christmas LGR. Thanks for all the good times this year
Thank you for making a video about this game!! :) Merry Xmas
You bet, it's been a long time coming! Merry Christmas
Thank You!
I remember this game. I played it years and years ago when I was in my teens. I loved it because it wasn't based around death and destruction.

Just wanted to point out it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere when it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere, so a summery Christmas isn't that wrong :P
Hey Clint, thanks for the video. I had this gane for my second computer and Happyland Adventures was played to death. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I just finished binge watching every single LGR Christmas review. On January 2nd. Whatever, it's LGR!
Hello, LGR! Your video gave me such a nice christmas feeling, thank you very much for this. Happy New Year, I wish you everything good :)
Ah an LGR video. i needed this after a very bland day.
Merry Christmas Clint and all UA-cam Folks here!
Free Lunch were great, made Icy Tower and everything
Oh wow, I have so much nostalgia for that sprite set! Never knew it was called SpriteLib though. It was the default sprite set used in a GameMaker-like program I used as a kid, called Game Editor.
For a time, they bundled it with Game Maker to help aspiring game developers.
I miss these types of videos, seems like less channels are doing christmas types of videos like this nowadays
Fuck yeah! I have loved this game my entire life, it's great to see people reviewing it now.
Wow! I played this when I was a kid who mostly got to play shareware games (damn how I wanted a gamecube back then), this brings back so many special memories. Thank you for bringing up these things which otherwise I'd never get to remember, and keep up the spectacular work in 2018!
My Christmas gift to you is the knowledge that you convinced me to play Duke Nukem 3D. The one liners are hilarious.
Also merry Christmas!
Oh cool, it's by the same guy that made Icy Tower. Looks like some prime freeware platformer fun.
omg icy tower too ?? that was the most popular game at my elementary school, everyone played it
Man, I used to play this game to no end when I discovered it!!! Awesome, amazing, fun times! :D This is the vibe a platformer should have. :)
Awesome videos, man! This is why I keep coming to your channel. So much nostalgia. :)
Merry Christmas!! Hope to see Xmas Clint return next year too!
I thought I’d made this game up! Nobody knew what I was talking about, so thank you for making this :)
Hey didn't know this game, sure looks fun to play.
That xmas music is so aesthetically pleasing.
Thanks for bringing back these memories !! :)
Holy shit. Its free, good and it has a level editor. Merry Christmas indeed!
Merry Christmas Clint. Looking forward to next years content. Have a good one

Happyland Adventures. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a _long_ time...
Thanks LGR! I'm pretty sure most PCs on my primary school had a copy of this game.
Nothing beats the joy I had as a kid playing Yoshis Island and having the little Huffin Puffins (The little duckies) follow behind me. ; . ;
0:48 I just caught a glimpse of that screenshot of Alex the Alligator 4 screenshot! I was looking for that game a while ago but couldn't remember the name.
OH MY GOD I USED TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YoU LGR!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS
Merry Christmas Clint. You deserve it. See you in 2018 for more LGR brilliance. Good fortune to you Sir !!!.....

Just that small glance of Alex the Alligator 4 sent me WAY back
Cute design, Cute gameplay, Cute sound... Cute speed! This game is truly the Holiday Game for everyone.
Unlike the other fancy 3D graphical games around.
2:18 Jesus Santa looks like he's been through too much
I just got the pdf of that book you mentioned. What a gem for oldschool techniques.
Merry Christmas, Clint!
Hey I remember this game on our elementary schools computers :D We used to play it between classes. Happy holidays LGR! :D
That soundrack makes me happy!
My daughter has an idea for a platformer like that and the ability to make the graphics, so I'm gonna get that book. Thanks LGR. You Rock.
LGR makes my favorite Christmas videos
Italian Lazy game review mamma mia!
Ma che ti sei davvero messo a tradurre e doppiare tails gets trolled? Non stai molto bene XD
Oh no mi hai scoperto!
new LGR + new Dashcam Australia = ultimate Xmas present
LGR videos keep making me rediscovered games I played and remember playing years ago, but whose name I forgot.
This intro theme song gives me strong waves of nostalgia for some reason and makes me want to play the original Deus Ex.
I played this game long ago and now, thanks to LGR, want to play it again :)
>Open a can of Redbull
>Drink what appears to be root beer or Dr Pepper
You can't trick me. I'm too clever for that.
My favorite free christmas game is christmas bound. It just mixes thinking and reflexes with some cozy christmas tunes and a light plot :D
That is some glorious use of the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. Undesirable as some find it these days, it's a nostalgic sound for me along with Sound Blaster opl3 music.
That looks like the most adorable game I've ever seen
Ah yes I remember getting this when I was younger, I believe I got it off of CNET's Download website. I just played a small bit of the non holiday themed version, but this game definitely has some charm to it and outstanding work done by a single developer.
I am so gonna play this now.
An LGR game review has almost cleared up my pneumonia. You should bottle this stuff.
YES it’s time for another LGR thing!!!
I remember back in 2000 when I used to babysit my toddler nephew, I sat him in front of the PC and had him play this
Holy crap! Now, this is a nostalgic game!
I loved this game when I was younger. Downloaded it again a few years ago. :) I adore the sounds.
Merry Christmas Clint!!
Ooh boy... Here comes the nostalgia.
I remember when I played that game as a kid on my old Windows 98 without a sound card. Good times.
Merry Christmas Clint!!!!
This intro... it's so retro =D
Love it.
Please, review Pekka Kana 2. Thx and happy holidays!
I remember this game!
Happy X-MAS dude.
I had so much fun with this game as a kid :) One of his other games, 'Alex the Alligator', is also a blast!
Merry Christmas and happy new year
Bringin' the heat on a UA-cam Friday.
I loved this game back in the day
