Bought one to replace the previous model that I had for 7 and a half years. I estimated that the machine had done over 3000 cycles. Now the sons have left home, the new one may last a bit longer. Great machine. It was cheaper to buy a new machine than replace the drum as the bearings had worn.
Just had mine delivered and installed … Your video was very helpful and I’ve just put my first load in… So quiet compared to my old machine….I love the look of the machine too!
I have this machine and machine tumble dryer only downside with dryer is sometimes it’s hard to get it started with the touch start, but the washer is perfect.
I was just wondering for the Bosch Serie 4 can you use washing powder detergent rather than liquid detergent to wash the clothes? Why I ask is because in the Bosch manual it obly recommends using liquid detergents that are self flowing. Thank you, Tom.
You can use powder but you need to make sure you don't have the divider in inside the soap drawer as the powder won't be able to flow through properly.
Hi, excellent instruction video. One suggestion: mention that the recommended max load only displays when the door is open, I wasted a day thinking we had a fault. No mention in the Bosch manual either.
I have this exact model had it just over a month at a very good price :) it’s a good machine very quiet but when it gets to 1400rpm (sometimes it doesn’t) with a bulky full load towels bedding etc… you can definitely hear it but it’s still a lot quieter than my old Miele and a 2nd hand hotpoint aqualtis I had in between this one and my Miele. You can use it at night and I don’t notice it that much and I am in a flat. Super quick 30 is a quite a good wash to for 30 mins. I use that and mixed load the most I would say and everything comes out clean. My only complaint is that it’s definitely not an 8kg drum I measured my sisters drum as hers is a older Bosch vario perfect exxcel 7kg and both are drums are exactly the same! and exactly the same size! hers is a 2009 model so they are lying lol…. Plus the hotpoint is 9kg! a kilo more than this bosch “apparently” 🤔 but yet the drum is 3 times bigger then this one???? It’s definitely a 7kg drum without a doubt! But luckily for Bosch I don’t really care as my Miele was only a 7kg. So I can live with it lol.
Another good video well explained looks easy to use and not badly made I do have a Bosch dishwasher which is brilliant and does a wash in 27mins clean and dry
Informative video. However, there is an annoying reflection (from a ceiling light, presumably) which means that the LED display showing the washing times for different programmes can't be viewed properly.
This is pretty standard on all washers now. They have a spin balance protection so that the machine will only spin if there is an adequate load. If you only have 1 item in the machine then it can't balance it out as there is nothing to even up the other side of the drum. When there is a half a load minimum then it can do it.
When you press the start button you have to do so for a longer press than the other buttons to confirm your choice otherwise it just beeps at you. Haha! It’s best feature is it’s super quiet.
Hello Lords Electrical. Thank you for a great, informative video. My elderly in-laws have just bought one of these washing machines and they don't understand how the programmes work so I've directed them to your video which is a great help. One problem they haven't solved is how to increase the delicates wash from 38 mins to 1 hour. They are obsessed with the delicates setting and they wash all their clothes using it - even sheets and towels. I've looked at the Bosch booklet but it doesn't help. Any suggestions?
I don't want to ruin it for them but the delicates is ok for light loads that don't need much washing, but i would normally suggest for sheets and other main washes the "Cotton" programmes. I appreciate it is a longer programme but you should find the performance of the wash to be better as well. If they just want to increase the duration of the "Delicates" programme, then you could add the Pre-Wash or Extra rinse option as well. Good luck, and thanks for the great feedback

I used wonder why people would dislike my videos but i appreciate that my relaxed style of presenting is not to everyones taste as a lot of You Tubers are quite loud!!! Great feedback though thanks very much.
Mine is this exact model. It doesn't drain on normal cycles only on the short cycles. So when I open the door I get water coming out of the drum and soggy clothes. I've checked all the pipe work and filter which are clear. Have you any advice?
Couple of things. Is it a good load that is in the machine? it needs at least half a load to spin properly. It is more than likely the pump at the bottom is blocked. Try and drain the water from the machine before you undo the cap. Make sure there isn't anything sitting in the filter, then put the twist cap back on. The main other thing it could be is the stand pipe behind the machine could be blocked.
@@lords-electrical the machine flooded the place again last night. I turned off the water at the inlet hose. I took off the top and turned the water back on. I could hear water running, I squeezed one of the inlet pipes and the sound stopped so it looks like the inlet valve isn't doing its job. I've booked in a repair with Bosch but the earliest time slot is a full 10 days away.
@@lords-electrical Thanks for the reply. It seems very restrictive that you can't select a spin peed of your choice. I've had a look at the user manual on line and very few programmes use the top spin speed which seems very silly. You want your washing as dry as reasonably practical to avoid lengthy tumble drier times.
These are ok but they are pretty sensitive on the spin when washing heavy loads and tends to restrict the spin to only 1000rpm when it could easily spin at 1400rpm.
I have WAP 283805G Serie 6 9kg/1400rpm when I used the left drawer for main wash and 2nd drawer conditioner on when the program started filled the water the conditioner flows together and unloading time the clothes doesn’t smell with the conditioner at all. What am I going to do?thanks
Just a question, which section are you putting the fabric softener in? Also if you are putting liquid detergent in the main drawer, is it taking that ok as well?
The sports and duvet cycles dont use the softner compartment for the last rinse. If you use powder some couldve got into the softner bit and clogged the bit that sucks up the water/softer. Take the drawer out and give it a wash or try pouring a couple of kettles of boiling water through it thatll clear it. Other than that. No idea.
Nee bother, I dont know whats up then cos Bosch fill intermittently on the last rinse about 4 times through the softner compartment to fill it let it drain completely, fill it up to flush it out drain it again. Put it on a rinse and spin and stand wth the drawer open half way and you will see if its filling in that compartment or not. If it is then the tube is blocked to drain it out if it doesnt fill its a problem with the water intake for that compartment. All I can think of to try.
@@lords-electrical Thanks . I ordered wan 28260by today. It's the one they have in my country but it looks like that one in specs. Hope I'll have luck with it.
Hi lords Just got a bosch machine 1200 spin if I want to do a wash for 60 minutes how do I select this option or a 30 minute wash I find it confusing not use to this type of setting only just put the dial to a number and start I would be greatful if you could help Thank you Patricia obrien
Couple of options, you may be able to select the Superquick 15 / 30 if you wanted a very quick wash, or if you select a longer programme like Cottons then if you pick the "Speed Perfect" option then it reduces the time of the wash.
Normally the Cotton programmes are better for bedding, and also the cotton programmes have the ability to wash at the maximum load which not many other's can do.
It's a pity you didn't review the video before you posted it, you would have noticed that it's impossible to see the display due to the reflection of the lighting above.... some shielding would have been really helpful - otherwise it's ok!
If you select the rinse / spin option at the bottom then if the "aqua plus" option is lit then press the button so the light goes out. This will now enable you to do a spin only programme without the rinses.
You need to make sure that there is enough in the machine to balance the load out with several items, which is why it is always difficult to spin 1 large item on its own.
There is no way this is an 8kg!! I’ve actually measured the drum vertically & horizontally and compared to my existing 8kg AEG machine & this is a few cm’s smaller. I’ve still got my AEG & the same load that I can get with room to spare will not fit into my new Bosch!! Very unhappy with this deception.

Is this capable of spinning small loads and if not, wont clothes be soaking at the end of the wash cycle?
Did not explain the soap drawer well enough. Which one of the sections are for the bleach? Can you use powdered detergent? What is pre-wash?
Please can you tell where is the option for prewashing? I can't find.
