Dude, you don't make a negative mold out of the wood, you make a positive mold out of wood. Then create a bed of corn starch and press the positive into that to make the negative mold. Then you pour your syrup into that.
@Bartosz I would think actual corn is too small and using candy corn would go against the idea of making it himself... But yeah, He could do that, use clay or something instead of carving it out of wood.
I was going to suggest to make your molds, maybe making small cones out of wax paper and placing them into holes on the 2x4? Also, another cheap way of making a centrifuge is by using a salad spinner, but I think your method worked well.
You know what? I'm just gonna say it. I really like Candy Corn, and I recall a time when candy corn was generally considered "aight". I don't understand all the candy corn hate as of late =).

How To Make Everything great video I always enjoy watching these from scratch videos. People should appreciate how much time and effort you put into these videos so keep it up and always stay positive. Yet again love this vid 👍
You could probably do candy canes for Christmas, but you would probably have to get familiar with how to make hard candies first. It's definitely more complicated than most people think, but it would be fun to watch.
This is hella old but that maze is right next to where I live!!!! They’re shutting it down to build a warehouse soon if Project Hotdish goes through! Please don’t let it die!!! There’s so many memories there!1!
Nice video, hope someday this whole channel could grow to the point to where you can upload more often (maybe more "hosts" to go on their own projects/series) without straining yourselves. Love the concept and videos, man. It's got that "How It's Made" show kind of feel but is someone that is "inexperienced" making it instead of a professional. Keep it up.
I understand that the premise of the show is how things are made from scratch, but the manufacturing methods are well known. The mold process was... not good. Just compromise. Use a combination of prerequisite knowledge, like in the tequila episode, and combine it with the experimentation. I love this show! You guys do amazing work. Just trying to offer constructive criticism.

+ArachneNet boiling doesn't kill all pathogens. And on top of that prions can be found in pretty much any tissue of the body, not just in nervous tissues.
Brownbear Originally, Native Americans just picked the knobs of dried sap from pine or spruce trees and chewed on that as gum. (People still do, and it's pretty good.) It would be cool if he did a video on early commercial gum made from chicle, though!
For candy corn you don't really use a mold, you create three long strips of colored candy forming it into one long candy corn. It should look like a very wide wedge shape. Then you cut the strip into individual candies. Cool video though, keep up the great work

This is bullshit. Sugar isn't bleached. The crystals are centrifuged, washed with water and dried. What remains is molasses and the sugar water which is then reprocessed.
Yeah that's a nice definition, but what is your point exactly? The sugar crystals are suspended in a saturated solution. This solution is centrifuged. The centrifugate consists of molasses. White sugar is typically whitened as in bleached so it would be really hard to replicate something like that and you made some great brown sugar. I hope that this helps!
