I want to visit Brazil for vacation this summer . I hear a lot about the crime and dangers of Brazil . Would that be an issue for a young man that wants to tour Brazil ?
@@brandonwilliams4602 Crime has always been an issue for any person visiting Brazil.. But it´s probably not a good idea to allow fear and uncertainties to deprive you from seeing such a beautiful city like Rio, or any parts of a wonderful country. Just be careful..watch your back in crowded places or even if you take a walk on the beach on a rainy or cloudy day (I got mugged twice on emtpy beaches) still be careful. All my trips to Brazil have always been SO worth it!
Just returned from there a few months ago. Already planned my return for a long term stay. My favorite place in the world.

I always said my husband about Rio , He used says , no Hawai is the most beautiful. when he visited me in Brasil first time , I took him to see Rio and the definitely agreed, Rio is the most beautiful city in the world . He loves Rio .
Oi ;) I dream to visit there and for sure, will feel in love and will want to stay. a friend from italy worked there and felt in love with this lovely city, it seems really the most beautiful place in the world to my heart too.. i am in France.. and working out projects to make possible this dream to learn Portuguese in Rio :) and then.. we will see what life has for us in surprises. I speaks Spanish and Italian. I wish i can pick quickly the lovely Portuguese in Rio. it is calling me. since years.. 🙏☺🌟 wishing the new year is the year i will travel back to my dreams :)🙏 for sure people when visiting Rio falls in love 🥰💕🌎☀ sending you my best wishes from the other side of the Ocean, i live close to the seaside.. but in the extreme west part of France.. so i feel already close and called each wind by Rio ;) but it is colder here.. in climate and the vibration of people seem really more friendly smiley in Rio (with no judgement with a place or other) just a feeling personal :) all the best for you and thanks for your testimony, inspiring and comforting to dare this dream.. This place us so visually stunning. I have traveled extensively and can't recall anywhere looking as spectacular as Rio. I will have to visit now. Thanx for sharing.
Extremely dangerous though. Don’t let the views fool you. South zone is a lil safer but even at the beach it can get hairy with arrastões. You better know where you going.

I love Rio, yes, it is one of the most beautiful city in the world. For me this city and Cape Town in South Africa are the most beautiful that I have visited so far and actually they have a lot of similarities (both good and bad)
I also think Rio and Cape Town are very similar both geographically and socially, both are beautiful

@Ronan Greco O problema do Rio é as escolas de sambas e as favelas que mancha a cidade. As pessoas não gostam de batuques de samba e carros alegoricos com coisas horrorosas e as favelas onde o mal predomina.

Rio has got to be one of my favorite cities. I was so impressed by it's beauty and the people when I first visited early this year. I will definitely return as I can.

Yeah there is a crazy amount to do in Rio, and the majority of the things are pretty close to each other too

My favourite place in Rio was the colourful and bohemian Santa Teresa with its cobbled streets and beautiful old buildings . Stayed in a wonderful B&B called Casa Cool Beans. Enjoy Brazil.

Yes I agree. Rio de Janeiro is the most beautiful city that I have ever seen or visited, I spent 30 days in Rio in December of 2019. I celebrated 🍾♥ New Years Eve on Copacabana Beach along with 3 million other people. It was just awesome 👌. My only complaint is as an American the visa process is a little difficult but well worth the effort. Seeing this video 📹 I had forgotten how beautiful Rio actually is and the people of Rio were kind, friendly and fun loving thank you for this video it put a smile 😃on my face.

i miss Rio a lot...saudade...another nice city is cape town, the city itself not as pretty and alive as Rio, but the surrounding nature/beaches are a Must for each traveller !!! Back in Brasil : I can really recommend to rent a car and drive down to Parati area along the coastline for a few days...
I've been to Cape Town, loved it, if you want to see it really alive, just go to any nightclub/bar around Long Street, they do know how to party for sure.

This is cool since you both know Rio, having lived and worked in the city you can give us the viewer a good realistic impression of the city. I was in Brazil 2 years before the Olympics took place and it was very expensive then. So it’s interesting that now the UK pound exchange rate is better it has become more affordable it may become a viable place to go and spend time in the city again!

Before I visited Cape Town, people told me Rio is Cape Town in steroids. I must say it kinda is. Rio seems a lot dirtier and disorganized (I'm from Brazil BTW), but at the same time Rio's natural beauties are much more impressive. Don't get me wrong, Cape Town and its surrounding is just stunning, but I still think Rio is a more lively city. Both are equally dangerous.

Not you not stupid, I had the same feeling too when I saw the brown leaves on the ground but when they walked to the garden everything was very green by the monkeys , so there is not fall over there every body was naked by the beach is not cold.😅

To be honest I was surprised to see the trees like that but I loved it, beautiful red and yellow colors 😍
I also noticed the "autumn trees". They are actually 'Terminalia catappa' or 'Sete Copas/Amendoeiras" [roughly "Seven Canopies/Almond trees" very common all over Brazil, and whose leaves turn to hues of read and orange during the Brazilian winters, which are always mild except for the Southern states.

With its beautiful scenery, charming people and affordability, Brazil remains my favorite country to visit! Was disappointed with the smell of raw sewage on the beaches of Copa Cabana/Ipanema. The best place was Fernando de Naronha! 2nd were the beaches of Fortaleza. Would love to return one day.
It's affordable for you that's (I presume) has Euro or Dollar as your currency. But the rest is correct
@@isag.s.174 it's all relative...while my last trip was about 15 years ago, I believe it remains inexpensive especially when comparing it to the alternatives.
Brazil is an accessible destination for people who have Euros or US Dollars, the other currencies most of the times have a lower value than the Brazilian currency, making the trip expensive.

I watched it last night as it came out but i didn't comment i was half asleep...Great video i had no idea it had so much nature, big cities all have Gems. First big city that came to mind when you ask us, your public about cities with nature i immediately thought of Cape Town, it truly is an outstanding city on many levels i think you should give it a go! Then i thought of Oslo...very different and a lot smaller but from city center you can take a dive in the ocean or go skying/sky jumping/trekking within a 10min ride...Actually all the Scandinavian capitals are mixed within nature. I am so excited about you guys opening the treasure chest that Rio de Janero is. I can see how excited you are to be back

It was so random and yet so amazing!! I've been living here for 46 years and have never, ever seen wild parrots on the ground, so cute! LOL
This is what I'd like to see. When you go to a big city, I would like to see a few videos from the city. Not just one video of the city, like most youtubers do. And then each video visit a few different neighborhoods. And name the neighborhoods you were in. Because that way, if you visit that city someday, you would know which neighborhoods you would want to stay in and visit. Today's video was a good start at that.

Im a Rio local. Yes, we have pandemic. A few people that follows the rules of our crippled president, that thinks that doesn't have pandemic. I follow the rules, using mask all the time and keeping social distance. FORA BOLSONARO!
I'm from Rio. People just don't care anymore. I used to care as well but nowadays I don't give a shit. My whole family got covid last year (no serious symptoms) and we've been vaccinated this year, so we don't care anymore.

I am a food snob ,and I tried few of the most famous Rio restaurants, but TERRA BRASILIS became my favorite. Simple place with million $ view, and the food is amazing.Of course I saw it in this video. Great channel! Good job!
Hi Carol and Chris, Rio is also one of my favorites towns, as you said mixes nature and city life. I remember once to go to a music show of Nando Reis on the top of Morro da Urca. Most of my trips were on business but I always managed to stay one two days more for fun. My favorites day trips were to the beaches south of Recreio like Prainha or Grumari or to the beaches of Búzios.
On my mind is also the visit the Mangueira samba school the day they launched the samba enredo for the next Carnival. For nightlife I remember Carioca de Gema and Rio Scenarium.

My wife (Elise) was born in Petropolis (Peter's city) Rio state in 1970. She grew up in Rio De Janeiro (River of January). She remembers going up to the Sugar Loaf, which she calls "Sugar Bread." she also remembers visiting the "Christo Redemptor" statue and she has a model of it, which is really special to her. She also remembers several trips to Petropolis both by car and by bus. She was 7 years old when her family left Brazil for Australia in 1977, where she has been ever since.
