  • After a long wait for a new engine, the Toyota Celica with a 2GR-FE, and a E351 swap is back and better than ever! In this video, we discuss what has changed since the last time you saw the car, and further improvements are still on the way.
    I addressed some of the questions from the previous video, like how to implement AC with the 2GR swap.
    If you happen to have any other questions, leave a comment down below!

    Pretty cool how well it fits in there. Little tidying and you could pretty easily convince someone it was like that from the factory.

      Eventually get it painted, the exhaust redone with equal length headers, and possibly later down the road convert it to AWD!

    This is rad man this gives me the much needed inspiration for a yaris 2gr build what ECU did you use? I was thinking of just swaping everything ecu, tcu related from a highlander over to to save the time. Also how'd the original engine blow?

    • @WiseGuyzGarage
      @WiseGuyzGarage  3 місяці тому

      I appreciate it! It’s a Toyota Sienna ECU, Frankenstein Motorworks ecu tune! He is able to flash some 5 plug ecus. You’ll need to contact him on that regard, and keeping an auto with that ecu tune might not be an option unfortunately. The original engine blew likely from metal shavings from the cracked exhaust cam phasers. When we pulled the engine both exhaust cam phasers were cracked sadly. That could have sent metal in passages we didn’t see, and further damaged the engine along the way. I would give frankensteinmotorworks.squarespace.com/shop/p/2gr-fe-stock-ecu a look and send him a email in that regard for your exact ecu part number and how you plan on running it. Hopefully that helps and thanks for watching!

    Is that a bolt in swap or did involve alot of fabrication how did you go about wireing it

    • @WiseGuyzGarage
      @WiseGuyzGarage  3 дні тому

      So the engine pretty much bolts in. You need to cut an aluminum spacer on the Toyota Rav4 V6 engine mount and drill two holes in the frame rail when it is aligned horizontally. You align it with the front and rear mounts first, then the actual engine mount. There is an arrow on the spacer that is what I used as a reference point to cut if that makes sense? Wiring I did myself. I plan on making a "how to" Video eventually. I want to document it for a Sienna ECU, to make it easier for everyone! Hopefully that helps.

    So does the s54 tranmission mate with the 2gr? If so its going right into my 96 celica! How about bonnet clearence?

    • @WiseGuyzGarage
      @WiseGuyzGarage  2 місяці тому +1

      The s54 does indeed work with the 2GR. The only issue is long term strength. If you swap the differential inside the case they should last a good while. The hood does clear after cutting some of the webbing out. The GT4 hood should clear as is. We haven’t tried it but I’ve talked it over with a few other people and there should be enough clearance for it. Hope that helps!

    Brother, I'm from Ohio, I would like to make that change but I have no idea how to do it. I've seen your video. I'm confused about how to build the wiring and what ecu it uses...

    • @WiseGuyzGarage
      @WiseGuyzGarage  2 місяці тому +1

      The ecu is from a 2007 Toyota Sienna. It is flashed by Frankenstein motorworks. The wiring unfortunately changes per model, and year on the 6GC. The key components you need to worry about are the 02 sensors, MAF, injectors, and coil packs. The ecu provides the power to the rest. The way the celica is wired now is that the ecu gets its constant 12v from the ECU B pin in the engine bay, and EFI MAIN powers the remaining components if I remember correctly. It does not pose to be an issue currently, and I don’t suspect it to be an issue at all as it stands. Everything works as it should in this case. You cannot run a random 2GR-FE ecu without getting the immobilizer addressed first. Thankfully Frankenstein Motorworks does do this with the ecu flash. I hope this all helps!

    • @WiseGuyzGarage
      @WiseGuyzGarage  7 днів тому

      @@DavidFlores-bd9noIt could be swapped in an Automatic for sure, the issue for you would be grabbing all of the manual parts, unless you want to stay auto? You could stay auto, and use the same axle combo I have listed in the other video. The mounts on the other hand would pose to be difficult unfortunately. They would need custom brackets in the front, side, and rear of the automatic transmission. It would be much easier to get the manual parts!

      @@jereoderso of course you can fix that! Essentially the engine bay between the 5th and 6th gen celica are very similar. You can cut the oem engine mount bracket off and replicate the rav4 mount idea there as well. Drill two holes in the frame rail with the bracket attached to the engine and bolt the aluminum spacer all the way through the frame rail through the bottom. Would be stronger than the factory mount anyway, as you’re using the entire frame, not the top of it.
