I love this angle of Anxiety taking over the mind and surpressing the other emotions. It feels, so accurate to how it feels as a teenager. It's still accurate to me. And the metaphor they use for bottling up emotions is brilliant. The "Sar-chasm" is hilarious. I hope we get a lot more of these metaphors.

I completely agree with you. I didn't expect Pixar to turn anxiety into the antagonist, but I'm excited about it and curious to see how it plays out in the film. The scene with sarcasm had me in stitches! The humour and cleverness in the teaser trailer and official trailer alone make me confident that this movie could be the hit of the summer.

Honestly really smart to make anxiety the villain. Concidering it really does take over our life's and becomes the villain. It doesn't do what is best for us, only what it wants on its own.
Where's Confusion, though?
Literally, ever since I entered teenage hood, Confusion came out of nowhere and straight-up pulled a Christopher Columbus on my mind. I feel like they should be 5 old and 5 new, with Confusion having a beige-brown-soybean colour because because girl- a colour that can blend all three of those things is sure to get my head spinning in at least 5 or 6 circles
@@SahrawiSundae I think confusion can be more put into a state rather than an emotion in this sense. Though it can definitely be called an emotion. But they are taking about a 13 year old girl struggling with mental health. Confusion wouldn't be nothing but space filling with no stark purpose. As the new emotions she's getting comes now.
We gotta remember not everyone's experience is the same and perhaps if you really want to qualify confusion as an emotion. Then maybe Riley isn't old enough yet for it to develop into a full emotion. Cause she clearly has confusing moment seen by the emotions expressing it. But to her it's not a lot. But bc of the move and that traumatizing experience she develops anxiety, that we will see take over her mind.

I also like envy's character design. Being so small among the other emotions because when we feel envious, we feel so small that the people we idolized are such big people. As for embarassment being the biggest among the emotions, also like when we feel embarassed, we feel like we are so visible to other people because of it.

@@ilysm_pookie000 so basically there’s a chasm and she’s shouting over it but everything she says is heard sarcastically from the other side, it’s playing on the word Sarcasm, Sar-Chasm
I mean you seeing connections between the feelings and differences Is like quite perfect. Because that is quite literally how feelings work. Which is why kids have a hard to distinguish with them and why we need to help them with that. (and many on adulthood too bc they never got the opportunity to learn)
Because the more emotions that gets introduced into their life the harder it is to understand and handle them all.
did you used to run a mental health twitter account in 2021? the way you explain and make concepts make sense really reminds me of that account that saved me during that time. regardless though you're really good at breaking down mental health!
As someone that struggles with mental health I absolutely love the whole of Inside out (now plural movies) they do such a good job of showing us and teaching us in a fun way how our minds work but also consequences etc.
The controlling panel going dark when Riley entered depression still hit so incredibly hard. It was such a power move to show that it's not that people with depression don't try, but the panel literally doesn't work. They are pressing everything, they're trying so hard. But it's not working.
I can't wait to see if they will add a bit of a deeper tint with anxiety completely taking over and ruining Rileys feelings and thought processes. Bc at least for me when I "feel depressed" I don't feel all those main major emotions. But I do feel envy for better things, embarrassment and my anxiety always work together. And boredom is constant due to not being able to enjoy much if anything at all.
I don't believe I'd mind if they don't go deep with it but only surface level. But I'm just excited to actually see it and find out.

Envy and embarrassment are literally perfect. Envy is small which when you feel envious of someone, it makes you feel small but you wanna feel bigger hence the large doe-y eyes. Whereas when you feel embarrassment, you feel big and feel seen by everyone and you try to be small hence trying to hide in the hoodie.
I really like Envy, but I’m not sure how much I like that most of them are the villains… but every Disney movie needs a villain😅 also it could be just me, but I felt like they were hinting a lot with Riley and this new girl… maybe more than just friends… idk.
Having them be villains makes sense, since Anxiety does kinda take over in real life - since Anxiety only cares about what is best for themselves.

I mean I feel like joy is suppressing anxiety mainly because she sees anxiety as a threat. Like how she used to see sadness as a threat but joy knows that sadness is a good emotion after the first movie. But the difference is, is that unlike sadness, anxiety is a threat that joy should be worried about. And the trailer displays anxiety as an antagonist anyway.
I’m excited for this one! One thing I really appreciate about the first movie is how they were able to simply emotions enough to be understood without minimizing their importance

Those workers working in cubicles reminds me of how anxiety makes you think of the worst possible scenarios sometimes without a disaster, happening, without a cause, but you just start thinking about it while doing the dishes or sitting in the train. That looks really realistic. I will watch this movie when it comes out for sure!
I’m so excited as you are for Inside Out 2 and as for Anxiety being the "villain" who can say but I definitely think she would be an antagonist until she eventually realizes what she’s done isn’t helping Riley much like how Anger and especially Joy acted as the antagonists of the first film.

I think that, on that scene with Joy using the controls while Anxiety tried to say something, the former was just doing her job: Riley was excited to have a new friend, so obviously that was Joy's time to use the controls. However, Anxiety, an emotion that likes to plan ahead and prevent problems, saw that as something that could "haunt" them later an tried to stop Joy.
Envy and embarrassed , I want to hug them!! Boredom seems like a person I can chill with and anxiety, my enemy but it's fun to see how inside out is Involving and how the animation has gotten so much better , example wish, sure I didn't like the movie but the colours and animation magnificent!,10/10 ❤ btw rukiya if u see this comment could u do open season there are three movie's of open season is a really good movie and it underrated as a movie please watch it !!

I initially hated the idea of the second movie but I’ve recently become intrigued. I like how they’ve introduced bottled up emotions tbh. I think it’s a great introduction to it for kids

This looks good. A lot of people wonder where the new emotions are in like the mom's head, ect. I think mom's Anger emotion gave us a hint. "That's a preview of the next 10 years". Like, these are emotions you have to learn to control during puberty, and then maybe they only come out for "special" occasions or when the body "needs" them. Or that was my take on this. 😊great video.

I mean do you remember what life is like as a teenager? pretty sure it felt like anxiety, envy, boredom and embarrassment were the emotions that took over I mean I definitely bottled up my old emotions as a teenager because I felt like my family expected me to be perfect because that's what it's like to grow up in an Asian household

I don't think anxiety is a villain just anxiety. An easy emotion to get caught up in and a hard emotion to overcome. I think that's the way Pixar will use her.
