@restex1 well, high German is the real standard. You only learn these languages for cultural and heritage reasons anyway, therefore I would go for the more ancient(locally) and more endangered one.
@restex1 yes you are right :D although PIE is entirely gone. I guess in the end it comes down to taste.. East frisian low german certainly is a cool language too.
Wenn ich Ostfriese wäre würde ich Saterfriesisch lernen, weil das die Ursprache von denen ist.(bzw.dessen letzter dialekt)
