  • My interpretation of King Crimson's 'Fracture' (1974) - this arrangement draws on (and is most grateful to) the score produced by chords_are_where_its_at ( • King Crimson - Fractur... )...
Performed with Robert Fripp's generous approval.
It's not completely free of error by any means - there's work still to be done...! But it's not bad for 4 weeks work and an adrenaline-fuelled first outing - as the concluding piece in the 'Pianoscapes' concert on 26th July 2020 (whole concert is here: • Pianoscapes - July 26 ... )
If you enjoyed this, you might like my transcription of Robert (and Andy Summers)'s 'Painting & Dance', from the album 'I Advance Masked' - • COVID SESSIONS - 16th ...

Nice try, with a little more practice you will nail it! This just goes to show how difficult this piece of music is!

Makes me think of how potentially AWESOME an orchestral version of this could be🎹🎺🎻...that said, this is quite noteworthy (pun intended) and has some personal touches, which make it all the more enjoyable.

Very very cool. How did so much musical talent end up in Pershore?

Wow! I love what you did in the slow part there. I'm so happy someone took my transcription and actually learned to play it. Congrats!

As a KC and Fracture geek, I have to say Well Done Sir! Being a music geek, I have to say I would have arranged it slightly differently but that would be nit-picky. The biggest change I would make would be to have two separate keyboards instead of just one piano (think Rick Wakeman or Keith Emerson). Hearing Fracture from a different perspective has made this week a good one. Cheers!

Congrats on a great rendition of what must be a bugger of a piece.
Looking at Robert Fripp you'd never think he was sufficiently devious and evil to create this 🖖

Jeeze, a brave man to attempt that on the piano, absolutely astounding, would not be out of place amongst any of the great piano pieces by the classical composers.

Such a great song, such a great performance, but such a terrible recording. Do it all justice, damn!

You are a brave man! :D ...being a guitar and piano player myself (the latter nowhere near your talents) I now realize that the fast fretboard movements in some parts are probably a hassle on the keys...like when Zappa composed so much stuff on the guitar or based on guitar solos and the winds/keys/marimbas had to painfully figure out how to play these weird melodies and rhythms...and sometimes even the guitarist when something was completely score-based. - Thanks for the inspiration and a delightful breakfast today! :)

Thanks for your kind words. I think, overall, it's easier on piano than guitar! I know what you mean re. Zappa's music (incidentally, do check out my take on 'Watermelon in Easter Hay', from 'Joe's Garage' ua-cam.com/video/UaTzNpLnYbM/v-deo.html).

Just marvellous! The sustain at the end slays me, and seals the deal!
