If you churn it with hand blender or any grinder type of stuff you'll not get that makani consistency, it will turn out more like curd. I've tried it but consistency differs which results in different tastes aswell.
Pro tip: Adding a bit of honey or brown sugar converts it to a whole different level.

I am 71+ & in my childhood I used to visit my village in Punjab twice a year & we had more 12 buffaloes. Every day morning my aunt used to make butter and then ghee.
