    Holy Computer and Electrical overload. So this gentleman post on Facebook marketplace that he is wanting to sell some Electronics. I told him to message me after he is done and I will pick up whatever he has left. About 30 minutes later he messages me and says come on over and we'll talk. I get over there and find out that he has been an IT guy for the past 40 years and has a massive collection and that if I wanted it, then I could take it all ! Just finished unloading 2 truckload. Broke down everything to one huge box of pc boards full of the usuals. Think that I'm going to buy separate buckets to put the stuff in as I depopulate them just to see how much that I get. And to beat it all, he said that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Finally a nice break !

    Appreciate the breakdown. I don't find PCs very often, so I really look forward to breaking them down when I get them. I'm east of the GTA, I don't believe anyone is buying boards out this way. And the scrapyard offers just penniess per pound. So it's easier for me to take them to the ewaste/hazardous materials drop off location and give them to them once I've removed anything I want.

      Yup, atleast you can recycle them. I am amazed at the different categories each yard has. I think it all depends too if the yard can find a buyer for the materials they accept.

      Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I wish it was closer for me, but at least I have the yard in London that pays okay.

    Hi Tin man, I love your videos and find them very helpful. I'm in Chatham and also take my scrap to London. For the #2 copper on the circuit boards. Do you remove it from the piece it's wound around, and open the tiny motors? Thanks for your help.

    • @TinManScrapper
      @TinManScrapper  2 місяці тому

      Yes, if you leave the magnetic doughnut the copper is wrapped around you will not get #2 price. I do not open the really tiny motors, just throw them in motor pile and get the $0.40lb. Thanks for watching

    I don't do e waste scrap as there's not a yard near me

      Yeah, unfortunately that is true for a lot of people. Atleast you can take off some of the larger items and help divert some of the board away from the landfill.

    Don't know how far that you live from the border. If it is not to far, couldn't you just bring a load of boards over the line and ship it here in the US with a return address to Canada fir your check ? Just a thought.

    • @TinManScrapper
      @TinManScrapper  Місяць тому

      Not sure on that, but it could be worth me to check.

    • @edwardwichert1170
      @edwardwichert1170 Місяць тому

      Here in the US you can ship 75 lbs. for a flat rate of 25.oo. So if you're a close drive to the border, it would probably be worth it.

    Definitely not a "hater" but, my man, you gotta do something about that audio...did ya scrap all the good microphones? Its like the opposite of ASMR, i cant quite explain it, its like the echo of the room but the treble of your voice is very off putting. You get a better mic, you getting 50k subscribers easy. And then you dont have to yell at me the whole time. We can do this. You can do this.

    you'll make way more by finding retro hardware enthusiasts, a lot less work too.

      True, reselling items would be more profit, but waiting for a buyer could take a long time.
