I seen a number of different instructions, and have restrung dolls before, but this video was clear, no-fuss, with some really good information. Thank you so much for taking the time to video and share this with us...our floopy-doodle bebes thank you as well!
LOVE KENNY'S LOOP METHOD BEST! 💯👍 I just SUCCESSFULLY restrung my 21" ball joint Bisque doll using Kenny's technique! I really like his pre-knotted loop technique much better than the tying off method which I've used for my compo and HP dolls --- I never seem to get them tight enough. My makeshift hook kept snapping open on me as I was pulling the cording through the legs... definitely need to use sturdier "coat hanger" wire next time. LOL, a bit of a learning curve but my restringing came out PERFECT, nice and snug and I didn't damage my doll in the process 🥰
Thank you for this video! I have a little A.M. doll that I've wanted to restring because his poor legs are so loose and his pants are somehow stuck on one of the S hooks inside his legs. I haven't restrung a ball jointed doll before, but I might try it. Fixing and cleaning my dolls has become a hobby of mine since covid started.
Thank you for the video! I can probably used this technique on my Ball jointed doll because I dont have enough long strings! And this one is more easy and clean technique!
What type of wire do you use to make the hooks? Most of the unstrung antique doll bodies I see have lost their S hooks. I like to use a toothbrush handle or wooden chopstick to hold the elastic at the neck while stringing. It is less likely to mar the paint on the neck rim than a metal object.

Amazing work! Thank you for sharing how to string an antique ball jointed doll with a swivel head!! I am going to be attempting to string 3 ball jointed dolls soon. I am trying to find neck buttons though. Any suggestions on where to find them?
I have one of these dolls, but she has a walking mechanism in her body! the legs are not attached and in piece the arms are not attached ether, but the head and the upper lags are attached! To the mechanism in side that makes her walk and her Eyes move as well! She is shown on my ( Doll collector place) page on face book! How do you go about string one of these?
I found a doll at Savers with a composite body, finger wave painted styled hair and a painted face. Her limbs and head move I believe on bands. Does anyone know about how old she might be?
Brilliant mate. Now for the lady next door's doll.
