    What a fantastic idea! Ellen Ruth. I think there were amazing ideas throughout this video, mind-you. I know I won’t be using a five foot length of pvc, though. That’s for those with a real well established soap business. I was born in early Feb, 1961, months before Allan Shepherd’s flight into orbit on the Saturn 5 rocket. No lip balm on lanyards in my school, I missed that silly, albeit handy trend. I wonder if that was a way for girls to tell boys their lips were soft and inviting? I hope not! No interest in boys. I went straight for the men, when out of high school 😁, sure glad too! I’m just getting my soaping business going, I retired in Jan 2020, and I just love making soap. Take Care, Sister. God Bless You!

      Thanks! The soap is fully saponified within a few days, but the cure time makes a big difference in hardness.. You could use it sooner, but it will disolve much quicker.

    What is your opinion on using the bentenite clay combined with glycerin as a slicking agent for a hot soap process?

      Bentonite clay gives a wonderful slippy feel to the lather👍

      @EllenRuthSoap After releasing the soap from the mold, cutting it into 1" thick pucks and having it cure for 6 weeks; will the pucks fit into a 2.75" Diameter tin container, snuggly and easily? Or are larger tin containers needed?

      Thank you. I'd like to follow your instructions but with a shorter barrel as I plan just for self and gifts. Contraptions on the top lid - what are those? I went to the home Depot and don't know who was dummer me or the assistant - showed him the video and it was like talking to a martian . Do those items have names and does the pvc need to be threaded. Love the concept and very much appreciate your time and patience and answering my questions.

    Hi Ellen, I have been looking for some of that poly tubing, I don't want the huge roll on Amazon, just small one, do you know where I can get small tubes? Or does anyone reading this know?

    Hi Ellen, thanks for sharing! I might miss something, but did you just use 100% Hempseed oil in this recipe? If so, it is a good lathering oil?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  4 роки тому

      No, I didn't use 100%, the hemp oil is just a portion of the liquid oils. It's a very rich oil, and makes a creamy lather.

      @@EllenRuthSoap Thank you! I watched two HP soaping of yours the other day, and I enjoyed very much. I saw people using HP for making shaving bars, wondering why you use cold process for this one. sorry I just started look into HP, so it might be a dumb question: if you use HP for this bar, what will you expect to be different between two products? HP one has shorted curing time, like 2 weeks? Thanks!
