No way, I can't believe you stayed there! We got back about 3 weeks ago and stayed there for 5 days, it was by far our favourite hotel of the trip so thank you for letting us relive it through your video 😊 I was about to be jealous of your view...until I saw it was the same wall view that we had 🤣
We stayed really close to here at The Gate Hotel (which we loved and would recommend!). I really liked the area and would stay around there again. Great to have a hotel rec for that location 😊
This is an amazing hotel Amy. It will be ideal for us. Especially with the temple next door. It also looks like there's plenty of things to do around the hotel. Thanks Amy ❤🫶
It's not the off-season but it's slightly before peak autumn leaves time, which is later in November. Culture Day's is at the start of November (public holiday). It's also Gion Odori at the start of November (so you may catch some geisha performances). Really, the famous parts of Kyoto are busy all year round, so I wouldn't worry too much about it!. It's always rammed around well-known places like Kiyomizudera and the surrounding streets, Ninenzaka/Sanenzaka, etc. But you only need to go one or two streets into the backstreets to get away from the crowds. Or visit less well-known locations and it's a lot calmer! The same few places in all the top 10 things to do are where everyone goes, and not everyone strays very far away from them - so if you do, you can enjoy it a lot more and have a calmer experience.
I HATE Kyoto people but this hotel was nice ... the local people here take care of cats so I think this is nice ... across the river is Minamiza theatre for watching fun kabuki ! ... I think nearby Kanji Museum in Gion is the most fun !

Haha, Team Wall View! 🙌 So glad you enjoyed it too - glad it brought back happy memories! Great choice!! :-)
Thanks for another great video! They are always so well thought out, and your voice is lovely to listen to 😊
Thank you so much! I try & include everything I'd want to know! 🥰

It's a great location, with lots of places walkable!
Thanks Amy, I will probably explore the back streets and get to the main tourist spots early morning to avoid potential crowds.
Late in the day's also less busy (if you're not a morning person!). Have a great time in Kyoto!

It's an ideal location for Kyoto - always nice to be able to walk to places as you never know what you'll come across on the street!
@@cakeswithfaces Thanks Amy 🫶
It is a hotel where modern and traditional things coexist. 👀
And the location is very good. 👍
It makes for an interesting and effective design - I like it!

The USB power port a must have, it's basically universal now
I wish all hotels had them!
Thanks for the video Amy. How busy is it in Kyoto late October/early November?
