Hey man the only way to get comfy with the ruins is to just go for it. There's always rollback in case you die so you can try over and over. It's not hard at all and I would recommend everyone that hasn't tried an early ruins rush to make a new server and go for it! Wolfgang makes it extremely easy, WX-78 is also a walk in the park.
Take each death as a learning experience! Its a difficult area, so its definently gonna take a few deaths and plenty of practice before you get ruins exploration down.
Wigfrid usually gets described as being good for fighters, but really she’s great for players who enjoy planning, exploration, strategy, and base building but who don’t really care about battle that much. You don’t have to waste a lot of time learning and practicing every fight. The fan base has a lot of kiting fetishists who think perfect technique in this area is the pinnacle of the game and the only “right” way to play, but if you aren’t interested in that stuff, Wigfrid helps you get through all the combat quickly so you can move on to the fun parts
Yea as a wig main I definitely like base stuff more, she is a good character to chill with. She easily covers my fighting flaws but people look to me to go battle constantly... I was laughed at once for geting my farm ready. I still need grass and berries too, geez.
I never actually understood why tanking is the main way of playing with wigfrid, you can still attempt to kite and the battleborn trait will give you back hp if you mess up (or you end up healing up if you don't)
playing wigfrid really does change your entire ds/dst playstyle. the rare moments i play other characters i think i can take more hits than i actually can and subconsciously only eat meat stuff.
@@gabeitch4484 Lol... Meatballs... Bacon & Eggs gives more saturation 75 > 62.5 and way more health 20 > 3, and can easily be supplied by nearby spider nests.
its insane i didnt know... 2-3 marble armor and 3 helmets and 1 hambat and she can tank dfly and stays all the time at full hp. same with ancient guardian and goose and any boss. i joined yesterday a public server and killed dfly and AG on day 7 with just eating coocked monsetr meat.

i recently did my first ruins rush with Wigfrid, (she's my main) and I made it out on day 15, (i would have made it out a bit earlier if i hadnt kept breaking the crowns and armors that i wanted to leave the ruins with. i also discovered that slurtles are really good healing since they have a lot of health and they dont fight back if you just keep hitting. rock lobsters are even better if you can get one alone.
you can hit the snurtle with a cane till you are full hp and full sanity. never thought about lobsters but if you want bring one away just feed him some minerals like rocks or flint

Tanking is DST is better option because of broken delayed hit/dodge register in this game compared to singleplayer version DS. Like come on! Even in private server in offline? No wonder everyone need heals all the time, pierogis, while in DS I could kite and kill enemies with very little damage taken. Hard coded lag/delay of DST....
@@JazzysGames I know in DST enemies have significantly bigger hp. But I can love of all holiness can't dodge small mob of spiders,more than 3 hounds. Every time I lure enemy for an attack and go for counter attack - they will land a hit on my way back from avoiding their bite. And the thing that big waves of hounds able to catch up and hit me when running away in straight line, which never happen in singleplayer DS unless you stumble on something or made a L turn. With DST delay/lag window for dodge/attack is so freaking tiny
I was thinking this exact thing, whether Wigfrid could ruins rush, and I decided that no because theres no meat in ruins. Luckily, Jazzy is smarter than me so he can get by even as Wigfrid in ruins.
So, because I use facecam for live streams, I need to use it for any guides that use the footage. But yeah it's not as important in guides as it is for streams.
Funny... I've been telling peeps to use Wigfrid to learn HOW to kite because she can survive longer with basic speed stats. Maybe we should listen to chat... Kappa
Oh dude I think it's an awesome idea to do practice fights with Wig. If I'm learning a new boss I'll totally hop onto a fresh world as Wig. Then slowly take off the training wheels as I get more comfortable kiting. Eventually, though, I think a Wigfrid main will benefit more from the experience of the character by tanking more fights. One commenter brought up a very good point that Wigfrid exists for players who don't necessarily want to learn kiting for every boss. It might be easier for them to manage inventory while holding down attack, especially if they experience lag while playing. It's cool to have a character who doesn't need to be constantly dodging, so you can just get thru the fights as quickly as possible and get back to basing. 3:01 THIS IS SO TRUE! I remember on a public playthrough where I just strayed away from the main base and had my own base in the cave. I survived the entirety winter where food was scarce by eating the monstermeats from a spider den nearby. It was awesome 10/10 base. Crockpots and farms? Pfft whats that when you have a spider den.
I'm intrigued to see what changes will be brought along with Wigfrid's upcoming character refresh. Will they change her playstyle to make her kite again? Will they double down and make her tanking even stronger?
So I went to the ruins as wig yesterday and I found 3 or 4 bat bats. Guardian was doomed didn't even use half, switched end fight and beat him with my cane left full health and sanity.
Ive found Wig' is awesome im SW, all that seafood is on the menu and its so easy with merms, limpits and farming muscles. Ive gotten the furthest with her. Awesome vid 👍👍👍👍 ✌️✌️💙✌️✌️

@@seikatagabji8436 you will die very fast if you just hold attack but you will figure it out by yourself. most important is if you fight more then 1 enemie then spam click attack. and for ancient guardian you just need 3 marble armor and 3 helmets and a hambat and tank the shit out of him :) you dont need any healing

And in single-player you got armor stacking so it still makes sense to tank. Not to mention lower HP of mobs and bosses.

Do you play with lag compensation on? For me turning that off really helped with dodging.

@@PsYcoPink For both DLC worlds, WX is my favourite choice. Immune to poison, SW has plenty of gears, and Hamlet lets you stay overcharged forever

Batbat on wigfrid could boost her tank abilities because passive life and sanity steal + batbat life steal and sanity drain
