- Fellow Legends, welcome! Today we have the next legendary TheRussianBadger reprisal of the infamous Left 4 Dead 2 video, or as it's better known as, "Built Different, Built Stupid." I feel that this gives the original video a lot more respect in regards to audio and lack of scuff, which makes an excellent reprisal for Kip React viewers who want to see an updated version. What are your thoughts on Left 4 Dead 2? What mods are your favorite? Did this video get you into the game? So fun fact about the violin and piano versions of the Special Infected themes; They are actually musical cues to tell you how far away they are. Iirc, the violin version is for if they spawn far from you, and the piano is for when they spawn close to you.
In all my years of playing l4d2 i had never heard of this so thank you so much for sharing this great fact
Honestly, I wish it was reversed though, because the piano version sounds more ominous and the violin version sounds more panicky. Idk i just think it’d be kinda neat
The thing is I never heard the piano version despite keep my ears out for any special affected spawns

Ellis is that one friend who seems immature as hell and incapable of helping in a serious conflict, yet somehow seems to be thriving when everything goes wrong and the only one with a cool head when everyone's freaking out.

Ellis is the particular kind of individual who could do what would look like wizardry to the uninitiated, but is so bad at explaining himself that he comes off as being absolutely brainless and winging it.
Also I have to say, I'm glad that this zombie-movie takes place in the Georgia/Florida area. Do you what is to the north of that? Give it two weeks, and the whole tri-state area will be saved by moonshine, monster trucks and mullets.
I relate hard to this.
i actually really like nick he's just the right amount of "bad ass and toxic" just what you need to make a character feel real.
he's not some hero he feels like a person you'd meet on the streets after he got done drinking his winnings away.
like that same level of soft spot you have for ellis i have for nick.
Built Different, Built Stupid is one Badgers best vids! Doesn't matter how many times I see it, always laugh so much. I said it on your original vid, it's a true classic.
I remember showing left 4 speed to my classmates and seeing charger doing his thing is always pretty funny 😂

I once did a full playthrough with nothing but halo mods from the weapons and enemies all the way to the vehicle models and TVs and it was such a blast

I barely modded the infected(mostly installed a variety mod on them) except the tank, which is the Dying Light riot zombie.
But I went smoked ham on the equipment and survivors.
For sfx, the dark carnival comcers is a bunch of Killing Floor 1 and 2 music, and the Tank theme is the Pillarmen theme from JoJo

Left 4 Dead 2 mods is a slippery slope, at first you download maybe one or two mods for fun, next thing you know you have an elmo hunter with a dio voicepack while a charger screams leeroy at you and a phil swift tank with one winged slam jam plays in the distance

Still getting used to the new model. Not being that 3d model has, imo, lost some expressiveness, but the new model got them good looks and clean animations. Both are good 👍
Ellis as a guilty pleasure? no... more like a comfort food
Fun fact: I don't know what was up with Badger's PC when he recorded this, but you can mod the Spitter without it crashing your game. My sister plays modded L4D2, and she has all survivors and special infected modded. I think she even has the Jockey modded to where he has a big flopping you-know-what

To be honest, while I have a soft spot for Ellis and he was my favorite when I was younger, now that I'm older I have to say Nick is my favorite for the fact that he is a total A-hole.
The best yet worst time i had in specifically L2D2 was being the last one alive in a group. I was swinging a katana then looked up and realize that 2 of my friends got boomers, i got puked on by the boomers run all the way to a corner right near the safe zone to finish the level, and they approached me I sliced a crowd they so we lost the vs. round for us. Bonus one: I once had a friend lose control of the tank 3 times in under a minute, so we had to deal with 3 tanks on the concert platform at the same time, and we somehow lived.
15:33 Dude the one match that I still remember from years ago, Parish chapter 1, right at the starting docks, one charge ended that round, it was glorious. I don’t think we even won the match at the end, but it’s like the one round I vividly remember. Don’t waste time in spawn rooms, you just give the infected team time to set up.

Best L4D experience: Playing at 3am with a bunch of sleep deprived randos. Thinks got kinda weird, in a fun way. :)

Ok, despite Kip mentioning that they’ll be hated on for it, let him cook because I’m actually questioning it.
I feel like they’d be tied overall unless Cloaker strictly uses his ranged weapon until he gets up-close with the Hunter.
Also… I’m terrified now bc I’m imagining an Infected Cloaker and that would be nightmare fuel!

Ah, reprisals now I know why you are doing some of the videos again when you already reacted too them. It is nice, Badger and many other videos are still fun to rewatch and laugh with someone. Like the updated new look too - glad your new avatar working out for ya. Your character looks a lot less...Wide-Eyed innocent goofy, and more serious. Or intellectually based.
The first mod I ever installed was one of the originals for L4D1, the johnny bravo tank mod complete with a little less conversation as the theme.
L4D2 is one of the greatest coop games to play today and that's not even taking in account that it is almost 15 years old.

I also see a lot of spitters above all else most games. My theory is because I always try to speed through the levels, and their acid makes you stop and wait like a sitting duck near an acid pond.

For Humter v Clomker, I'd put my money on Clomker. Hunter NEEDS to make a sound before he pounces. If you hear Cloaker and don't run "Counter Strike", chances are it's already too late.
For the Tank track, I'm a bit old school; I have it play The Undertaker's most recent wrestling theme, and challenge myself and my crew to kill the Tank before the point where the Undertaker would've made it to the ring.
We have a high clear-rate for that challenge... we're not _good_ though, 'Taker's just... very slow.
It’s all fun and games until someone makes all the zombies a tabby cat model. That you can only kill with rockets and pipe bombs because the hit box is so damn small.
i can't help it... when i do the final bridge run i grab the adrenalin and leave everyone one else behind... grabing every other adrenalin on the way until i'm in the back of the chopper... then again i only do it while playing with my mates cause i know they'd do the same to me if they get to it first...

It's peaking, I can't do anything about it due to not having outboard sound equipment and being in an untreated room. If I had an office, or a couple grand, I could see about getting that fixed. There's still some audio issues especially when I laugh that I'm aware of, but it's not possible to currently fix with my current resources. I'm sorry about that.
The whole “built different, built stupid”thing reminds me of the “so you’re smarter now? No, I’m stupid, but faster.” thing. 🤣
Also, I use a mod that changes the tank alert sound to “Run, bitch, run!” from Scary Movie.

Talking about "low barrier to entry", the Steam Workshop is _GOATED._ No extra extensions, no fiddling with the files themselves, just push a button and it works, then push that button again when you wanna take it off and it's taken off with no fuss.
Nexus is fine (when they're not being fascists), but Workshop is _the_ future of modding and people just need to accept that.

Hunter and smokers are lickers
Tanks are super Tyrants
Boomers and spitters are the tadpole creatures in the sewers in RE2
Chargers are William G Berkin's
Witches are lady D's from RE village (have 0 clue how to spell her name)
And tanks in the final battles of the chapter is Nemesis
This game and DmC are the reasons the Deagle is my favorite handgun.
If you want a good death battle for the Hunter, have it go against Resident Evil's Hunter, so it would be a zombie with insane jumping skill versus a giant lizard with an armoured hide and meat cleavers for claws.
I could see this being a good one!

I have a horror modpack for L4D2. The basic zombies are skeletons and use the Daggerfall skeleton scream.
I usually have chargers spawn in or smokers and whenever im getting smoked whilst playing with my dad, im like, No im getting smoked!

I don't play L4D2 because my computer can't run it, but I play Phantom Forces, and the weapons I'm actually good with (I'm rank 24) are cursed.
For instance, my best weapon:
Remington 870 shotgun with:
No stock
Silencer
Stubby grip
Acog scope
My other cursed weapons are:
Remington 700 rifle with no stock, silencer, vertical grip, half ring irons and two red lasers
Scar-L with no stock, PM-II scope, stubby grip, silencer and one red laser
And all of these I have over 200 or so kills with.
I'm a god with cursed weaponry.
Charger is basically a bad Reinhardt player.
