I got a good woman, too, Warb. 31 years ago, she wanted to set our wedding date on her birthday, Oct. 14. I said nooo...bow season in Bama opens on the 15th . We backed it up to August and are still together. She's a keeper.

43 years ago i was not much of a hunter. rabbit and quail only. so when we got married on November 17th, it was ok. then i started deer hunting. so it was tuff when our anniversary came after our 4th or 5th year. yes i still deer hunt and its ok with her, but it was tuff for awhile. but i must say that turkey hunting is my favorite. northwest missouri is the best for turkey hunting. keep the videos coming so i can keep learning different strategies. i am 63 now and still learning from THP guys.

Great content as usual boys! Question: Why do you choose to not use a decoy? I hunt hardwoods in the Northeast and always carry a single hen. Just what I was taught to do. Thanks and keep it comin!
They have answered this before, they actually have used decoys on private and remote public land areas but most places they hunt is on heavy trailed public land and don’t want to run the risk of someone getting shot because another public hunter sees the decoys and shoots at it.

I have a Winchester 28" barrel semi-auto 12 gage. Would this be a usable shotgun for turkey hunting?
In a vast majority of cases, the uphill setup where the gobbler is in range when he first tops the lip is is an extremely low % setup. Every now and then you get lucky and you see his fan first and can adjust your gun. Otherwise, avoid at all costs if possible.

Just a FYI.... Coyote season that is typically open all year does have some restrictions, one of which is closed to day time shooting from April 1st through the end of the Spring Turkey Season. It has been this way for many years; we were told to combat against poaching of turkeys.
Unless you have an unfilled turkey tag.
@@rkayser89 No, that is during firearm deer season, coyote is closed to all day time hunting April 1st to end of Spring Turkey Season, has been for many, many years
@meghan754 they actually changed it a few years ago. Coyotes are legal in turkey season with turkey hunting allowed weapons if you have a small game permit and an unfilled turkey tag. Non residents have to have non resident furbearer license and valid turkey tag.
