- Hey guys so in this video i show you how to install the shift knob retainer so it gives it a more OEM look and gets rid of the awkward space between the shift knob and the shift knob boot!

Another idea is so you don’t have to spin the whole thing zip tie it ever so slightly so it’s not really tight so u can just spin freely when you when you get it to the right place you want it you tighten the zip tie more
Or just keep the shift boot down below the threads put on the retainer pick up boot and frame zip tie opening of boot onto retainer then set back into place

Instead of a zip tie why not just a hair tie or just the right size oring?
why is it that all videos of gear stick extenders or gear knob replacements always have threads at the top, my gearstick has no threads on top so i'm struggling to find anything of how to add extenders ontop my gearstick and its a massive pain
It has to be threaded, so the shift knob can thread on to it. Very odd that your gear stick doesn’t have threads. Are you sure it wasn’t cut to make it shorter?
@@JazzyEm Well me gear knob slides off and it attached via a slight notch and a jubilee clip so that the knob doesnt come sliding off, i did a little more research and you can actually get adapters/converters that slide on, tighten with alan keys and then you can thread a knob or extension onto that, i think its just because my car is over 20 years old which is probably why it doesnt have a thread
