Since when do victims’ families get to control the prosecution? I couldn’t feel more deeply for their loss, but if my daughter needs emergency heart surgery I’m not going to try to tell the surgeon how to go about it. The law is a profession. Laypeople inserting themselves into the process rarely seems to turn out to their advantage.
The gall of these people acting as if they have any authority to tell the prosecution that they weren’t pushing hard enough or that they have the knowledge to smugly say “we were right”. They need to lay low until they can think straight.
@@tristenlynnWe should keep in mind their speaking with their emotions, rightfully so. They may feel differently years down the road when some of the pain has faded.
Yeah, I came to comments to say exactly this. I can absolutely appreciate their loss & how much they want to be informed about what's happening in the case. BUT, this whole idea that they'll go to new venue to ingratiate themselves with the locals may only serve to blow that venue, too. Imagine they actually get the verdict they're seeking, only to have it set aside on appeal because of their actions?! Their atty is doing them no favors if he isn't advising them to take their public presence/commentary down a few notches. Of course the victims' family members have rights, but they truly do pale in comparison to those constitutionally mandated by & guaranteed to the defendant.
My sister was murdered in 2020. Since then we've gone through three DAs, two victim advocates, 17 court dates, and 4 years of just waiting. It's not fun and it's very frustrating. I can't speak on whether or not I am convinced Koburger did this, but I do feel for the families.
Thank you! I have been very disheartened to read all these comments accusing the victim's families of all kinds of things -- jury tampering, trying to control everything, "hiding something," and more, attacking the families! I guarantee most criticizing them have not gone thru losing a family member in such a horrific way. I have. While it wasn't murder, it was a very avoidable wrongful death. We wanted justice. Thankfully, it didn't take years, but we went through a lot, even the defendant's side reducing her life to "she had no husband, no children," as if that made her life less valuable. I pray your family gets justice for your loss.
It was politically unpopular in Moscow, and that always counts for something. OTOH, I know several people that live there, including a professor, and this is _the_ subject of conversation.
I heard it's idaho law that a judge can't move a trial until prosecution or defense files a motion of change of venue. That didn't happen until recently from AT
The judge couldn't unilaterally move the trial. The defense had to file a motion to start the process that led to him be able to decide whether to move it.
Steve and his wife were interviewing jury pools in Moscow - this is insane. Don’t they want to make sure the correct guy does time? A fair trial needs to happen for that. Judge needs to put a stop to this else they will also taint jury pools in ADA County and this case will get delayed
@@Nancy-ed7jj Doesn’t bother me at all… I like to hear the G’s thoughts & opinions. There is no law that says they cannot ask questions & get opinions from local people - even with a gag order. If they are curious what people think of the case, it’s a free country - they are free to ask.
@@karenbest2717If the G family is so certain that BK is guilty based on evidence, they shouldn’t need to be out “talking” to the potential jury pool, in my opinion.
@karenbest2717But is "asking" the same as wanting sympathy for THEIR case against this guy? That's what it seems they are going to attempt in Boise; and do they have "evidence" to prove that, and are willing to show it to that yet to be chosen jury pool? Um, sounds like tampering and maybe they are partly responsible for the conditions in Latah County leading to that change of venue - sympathy, but no hard, substantial "evidence"?
The family trying to "get support" from the community sounds a lot potential jury tampering to me. If I were the defense, I would use this to support moving again before trail.
The family’s lawyer is not explaining how things work to the family. Doesn’t matter where they go but he’s not going to be in orange or cuffs. It’s not how that works.
I have sympathy for all of the families. It is heartbreaking what they’ve gone through but the Goncalves family is not in charge of the justice system.
Sadness and anger mixed together can bring out personality characteristics a person never knew they had. I’d probably be a little bossy and demanding if I were in the same situation 🤷🏻♀️

She doesn't trust other people to make the choice that she has decided that she wants made...she is afraid that they will go with the evidence and make a FAIR decision.
I think it is fair to allow the defendant to wear something other than an orange jumpsuit. That orange suit sends a message of guilt. We are called to decide guilt on the facts of the case not subtle messages.
Agreed. A defendant should never be named until after the trial. The press and public has already found this guy guilty even though all evidence made public thus far proves his innocence of this crime. He'll not get a fair trial.
Did I hear KG say they were losing control!! 😱😱😱😱. They should not have ever had control! Innocent until proven guilty!! G family, I am sorry for your loss, but this is not for you to handle!! 😮
@@nellym.6555👍💯%! Where do these people get off not leaving alone the justice system to do its work? This couple isn't smart enough to be taken seriously by anyone they petition for whatever THEY want. Why do they care what the accused wears? They should be wondering how he got arrested, and just what the evidence was being presented to that Latah County Grand Jury leading up to that. And that "mountain of evidence" against him being sure to follow the prosecutor and his case to Boise. That's if WT goes along to wherever. Since when would an accused's attorney pay attention to anything anyone but the prosecutor or judge "demands" or suggests? That's not defending their client! Having a victims' advocate is great, but what authority do they have in any trial? I've been out of it for a while, so is this some kind of new law that permits interfering with a defense team's tactics, or being a factor in deciding what a defense lawyer can and cannot do? JJ bent over backwards for WT, and was more than indulgent in allowing him to delay, make excuses for not handing over crucial pieces of evidence to the defense, and when he first did, dumped a huge pile of a mishmash on AT's desk even SHE couldn't put together in any order. No coherent case, in no particular consecutive order of presentation speaks volumes about the merits of his case - and is concerning because we don't have a clue what was actually presented to that Grand Jury before it was discovered there wasn't any further evidence anywhere that would be forthcoming to back up that PCA! These people are just plain scared IMHmblO.
I have no remorse for these people who are first of criminals, they have never visited their daughter during her entire university stay, they are parroting about their family yet the firstborn daughter Steve has and his granddaughter are not part of their family. Steve’s brother is serving 20 years for manslaughter and they have drug trafficking history as well as ties with Aryan Family. From the very beginning they are parading around media outlets spreading misinformation, tampering with the judicial process, executing an innocent until proven guilty man for no reason whatsoever but almost as if they are trying to deflect attention from their own personal matters such as rushing to sue the university. The fact that they came to the national TV and admitted to carrying their own investigation of the potential jurors is beyond any reasonable and sane expectation for which they should be held responsible as I have no doubt that that’s illegal. That they are represented by a criminal lawyer is another very interesting thing. They are so many cases going on where people are wanting for their day in court and they are not acting like this two people! They found a lawyer but I’m not quite sure what is he actually doing for them? Who is he to tell the state anything? Common. There’s a reason why it takes so long especially in this case where the whole investigation and the prosecution behaviour has been surreal. That Supreme Court is taking over and is moving to Boise is excellent as now everything is going to be reviewed, evaluated by the fresh pair of eyes and I think that changing their tune is very curious. Steve was wearing a T shirt with the firing squad and went into the courtroom like that. Connecting with community why? To influence their views and push a man in front of the firing squad without going through the process of justice. The whole suit thing is nonsense pls check the facts. He LOOKS INNOCENT! What about the evidence? What’s wrong people?
My sympathy is running out for this family. It’s horrible what has happened to their daughter and their family but they are taking the stance that they are always right and everyone else is wrong, including professionals that have been doing this a long time. I could understand initially but their attitude is a real turnoff at this point. Their daughter isn’t the only victim and speaking out this much isn’t doing them any favors at all. Justice for all involved
Yep, what about what they're doing to damage justice for all the OTHER families and kids, one of the other family members told me that they can't stand this guy and wish that he'd sit down and shut up so justice can take its route...what about THEM!

@@WindchymeK9 Really you were able to talk with family members of the murdered victims? are you a reporter? how can I get in contact with them? since I have never had a child that was murdered, I don't know how I would handle the situation. I think I would go crazy and never be the same again.
Yes I briefly spoke with ONE member of ONE of the families, no I'm not a reporter, and I couldn't tell you how to get in contact with them and even if I could I wouldn't, they don't need lookie loo's approaching them, especially at a time like this- isn't it crystal clear that they don't want that kind of attention? At the time this family member approached me about something I had said and told me what they thought about the situation. I have no personal or ongoing connections with any of them...just a brief sharing of opinion. Why would you want to invade their privacy and grief like that?
I had a grandson murdered and how I and the rest of our family handled it was to share only with each other our frustration over how long it was taking to get to trial, but allowed the prosecution to do their thing. None of us are lawyers so we trusted they knew what was best. Did we want the trial to happen faster? Of course we did. Did we go out into the community to tamper with the jury pool? Nope, never even occurred to us to do so. We felt the facts spoke for themselves and allowed the justice system to play out. In our case, the murder happened in a state with no death penalty, so the guy got life in prison. We were told from the very beginning it was going to take a long time and we believed them. Everything the Goncalves are doing looks like they're more concerned with being on television than they are with getting justice for the four victims.
My heart goes out to the families. I understand that they want justice and closure, but they have to let the case run it's course for the sake of justice. Kohberger, no matter your feelings in him, still has rights and should be considered innocent until proven otherwise. If the state's case can't withstand a jurisdiction change or that BK isn't in an orange jumpsuit, then the case isn't strong enough to convict.
He’s being treated overly kind bc all eyes are on him. Other people being accused of violating laws don’t get such wonderful treatment… quite the opposite actually. This judge keeps moving things to the right on the defense’s request so that the only witnesses they have that were in the house can begin to forget things. The defense’s greatest ally is time. Delay, delay, delay.
I feel exactly the same way. They want to hang him high. If I were a parent of a child who was taken this way, I'd probably feel the same way. Having said all of that, as a citizen of the U.S., I want BK to be treated as innocent until proven guilty. This idea that they want to 'taint' another city scares me. What IF he isn't the person of guilt that they want him to be!
Wonder how they’ll feel if YEARS from now they find out he’s innocent??? They’re determined to do everything possible to make sure BK doesn’t get a fair trial!!
@LynetteA68 What if he would have brutally murdered your daughter? Besides yall act like we are suppose to know the evidence they actually have against him. They have no obligation to tell us anything they have on him. I personally can see in his eyes how evil he is!!
A death penalty case will almost always take several years with countless appeals. This family needs to back off .They are stirring up things that could come back to bite them.
I mean seeking out so much pretrial publicity. Many have mentioned how they are walking a thin line.. Believe me as for feeling I am a mama bear to disabled child, live in fear of his vulnerable self getting hurt or worse.. But I also know the cjs. tx
Despite their totally tragic situation, this family has obviously been this way forever. They are entitled and the dad is arrogant. He has a narcissistic vibe to him. I think at this point they are doing a disservice to themselves.
Their grandstanding, attention seeking, and meddling has got them in front of the world acting like fools. It's so sad to watch. They made it about themselves a long time ago and are getting increasingly further away from doing any actual good. Thanks to them, the tragedy of their daughter's horrific ending is always going to be overshadowed by the reckless words and actions of her parents under the guise of seeking justice. They are dragging her memory through the mud with their BS and it's disgusting. Kaylee deserves better.
Agreed. Also, the real disservice is to the four young people who were murdered in cold blood and deserve to receive true, untainted, unbiased justice.
I wasn't a fan of the judge during the Hannah Gutierrez Reed case but that completely changed during the Baldwin case. It's so interesting how she reacted differently and even ruled more favorably for the defense in Baldwin.
I have not been impressed with the prosecution out of Latah County. I hope they were paying attention to what occurred in NM with the A.Baldwin trial. With that said, I 💯 agree with the change of venue to ADA County. FYI - population of Leon County (Tallahassee) FL approximately 300,000. Population of Ada County Idaho (Boise) approximately 520,000. Population of Latah County approximately 41,000. This is a huge difference and it matters
It’s crazy to me that people without seeing all the evidence and without a confession already believe he is guilty. For such a horrific crime I would want to see everything that comes out in the trial in order to believe they absolutely without a doubt have the right guy! Like what if it wasn’t him? What if the real killer is still out there. This is what would really make me angry about how slow this is going.
Just as the people who think he's innocent because all the evidence they've seen is from the PCA. They have no clue what other evidence there is. They're also under the impression that everything has been released to the public which is completely false.
The thing that gets me is the defendant hasnt been convicted, as far as i know theres no real "smoking gun" evidence but the victims' families are focused in on undisputed guilt and will try to influence any potential jury pool. Whatever happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law?
@@Asidebar that’s definitely possible but “will prove” and “did prove” are two totally different things. If those parents go to the new county and taint the jury pool then I guess they’ll have something else to complain about.
No, I don’t like this comment. I understand the agony they must be suffering BUT they must let the DA do their jobs, stop talking. In regard to the orange suit, BK is allowed by the constitution to a fair trial. He deserves to wear a suit NOT to taint the jury. This a DP case, what happens if this guy is innocent. I don’t the the G family spews lies, but I do believe they need to KEEP QUIET
In an early interview, Mr. Goncalves referred to the knife sheath as the knife “sleeve”. I believe this is what he is referring to in this current interview and that he’s not hinting at any DNA evidence that we don’t already know about. See LYK video titled “Gag order not stopping leaks” at 36:56. Had to repost this comment because the first one was deleted for some reason, maybe because I added a link to the clip.
For trial, absolutely. Not sure about these hearings and pretrial, though. Many times they're only in a suit during the actual trial. It doesn't really matter, though, plus the family was ok with it at the beginning, right?
@@Usermemo8787 I just don't understand why him wearing a suit even bothers them so much. The way he's dressed says nothing about him, good or bad. It's court, he's there, that should be enough.
@LDiamondz yeah it's supposed to be in front of the jury but you're right, what difference does it make if he wares the suite to his hearings? They have to stop. They are not attorneys and they're not helping the prosecution. A defendant waring a suit in from of a jury is a very basic thing that everybody knows yet somehow they don't but they want to tell the prosecutor how to do his job? Please.
Legal definition of "jury tampering" not only includes the actions by the Goncalves family but indicts them as well. The fact they contacted local community members in which they discussed the case actively promoting Bryan's guilt is, by definition, jury tampering. Should the trial had remained in Moscow/ Latah County, the local community was the potential jury pool and was then illegally manipulated by the Goncalves. Agreed, the Goncalves have experienced tragic and devastating losses, however, their emotional upheaval and any attempt for compensation will never be sufficient cause to deny a citizen of this country his right to a fair trial guaranteed to him by the Constitution.
"depend on that community to support us" sounds kinda hinky tbh. I mean, this isn't an opportunity for you to "get support" this is a capital trial, of which you aren't actually a party to. Sure you're involved but girl, it aint about you
Of course I am sorry for the Goncalves' loss but I'm frankly tired of them treating the District Attorney's office like their own personal law firm, on retainer. They need to chill before they cause a mistrial.
I think their attorney and steve & Christy should have a gag order on them. It won’t take away their grieving… Don’t get me wrong but they are going to try to influence anyone and everyone! So sad
The families are acting like they are not getting any sort of justice… but they’re not giving justice a chance? “Bring it on.” “Good luck beating that!” ??? That seems super harsh and childish just because a Judge is trying to get them the most fair judgment possible, but they need to realize and respect that Kohberger is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! I hate this happened, but you want a fair and balanced case, nothing that would be justly appealed later! They need to just let the process run its course.
Ya. The defendant has been incarcerated since December 2022. It’s now September 2024. Seems like justice is already being served in a sense. But they’ve also said they don’t think there will be justice unless and until the defendant is dead. Which, even if sentenced - will not happen for decades. There is a very high probability that Kohberger will outlive both of them. They might not be ready to accept that, but hopefully they will eventually….
@@plinky_planetyeah, & I can totally understand (well, actually I can’t but) needing “justice” for your child’s murder - but nothing will satisfy that need because their child is still gone.

This is sarcasm, right? I agree this decision is good. But before then JJ has been scary biased and letting the prosecution get away with extreme incompetence.
I agree. He's fantastic, and his cases are almost never reversed. A conviction under him will remain a conviction. But many of us are used to seeing "soft" and lenient or "hard" and strict. Judge's calm demeanor could never be seen as "hard." So, he must be "soft," right? Nope. He's constantly examining the way case law fits. He's analytical and even-handed. Is it fair to expect the victims' families to agree with me? Absolutely not.
My heart breaks for the Goncalves, but IMO they need to leave the people of ADA alone. Let the system do its job. They said they interviewed people in Moscow to see if jurors were biased. I think that might have influenced why they moved the venue.
I'd be just as upset and doing everything in my power to peacefully find justice. Feds and local PD said we KNOW this is the man who viciously killed your daughter. Can't blame them.
@@rightsarentwrongyou know how many people cops claimed were guilty who were DECADES later found innocent and released but only after spending most of their lives behind bars?? Do you know how many INNOCENT people are STILL sitting behind bars??? Cops DO get it wrong!!!
@LYK - Peter, there was touch DNA on the sleeve of the knife found underneath one of the victim's bodies that matched Brian. That has been public info for a while. As you probably know, touch DNA can be problematic in court.
I just call it the judicial system nowadays because there's so little justice being doled out anywhere in this country. The more trials I watch the more I realize just what a systemic problem it is and I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
They’re their own worst enemy. Their daughter was not the only victim, they need to consider the other families. I believe this family is holding on tight to this defendant because if he’s not convicted, no one will be because of the poor investigation. Their voices are getting louder as the States evidence becomes weaker. In the beginning both the State and Defense agreed to a gag order, but now that the defense has reviewed the evidence, or lack thereof, they requested transparency. The Defense haven’t filed their motions under seal, and have asked to unseal the motions; but the State arguing against it, is questionable.
You are so close to being right. I know, however, that the PD does know the true identities. You'd have to ask yourself why, then,.are they not arresting them? And the first answer that comes to your head is, indeed, the horrifying truth.
"parallel construction." look it up. local cops are working with feds to spy on us and covering it up. he most likely did it, but they got him unlawfully/violated his rights/illegal surveillance. it'll probably come out that the feds were watching him this whole time and didnt do shit to stop it, just like these mass shooters
I love this channel because I can see both sides when I read comments…this audience is intelligent and not here to gripe and moan. (I never thought of the parents hurting the case.) Peter’s channel is THE only channel I have found that educates us with no bias, and he keeps me engaged.
Why does she say "omg we're loosing control" at the change of county courts?? She has never even considered the possibility this man may not be the true perpetrator. She convicted BK the second she saw him and no looking back. Even Steve considered other possibilities....Shes too emotional and unreasonable IMO...
My heart breaks for them, it does, but... He is presumed innocent until and unless the evidence that comes out in trial proves him guilty. He is entitled to a fair trial, he is entitled to present a case for his innocence especially in such a serious DP case, and the state HAS to meet it’s burden. There are no 2000% sure eye witnesses who can exactly pinpoint that BK did it, so heaven forbid what if they’re all wrong and he’s innocent. They’re calling for his blood, basically risking tainting another jury pool by drumming up more support against him (because support for the families and support against Kohberger are 2 different things). It feels like they want to control the prosecution of this case, which would be wrong. To lead a prosecution with emotions solely is wrong because what if they have the wrong guy? What if we are all wrong, and they convict an innocent man because the families and the public pressured them into forcing conviction. I get wanting justice, because it feels like the only small consolation to maybe slightly ease the pain of having someone taken like that, but not every conviction is justice. I’m sorry for them, truly, this whole situation sucks and it always feels like the victims and their families get left behind in situations like this. HOWEVER, my empathy doesn’t mean that they get to interfere in the process of a fair and unbiased trial. Because there is always a 0.1% the prosecution is wrong. We haven’t seen nearly all the evidence to make even a casual determination. And until that happens, he is entitled by our laws and our justice system to the belief and presumption of innocent unless proven guilty.
With what's come out, it looks and smells like Swiss cheese. Seems like this trial is running on passion, not logic. There's just not enough, but they did need somebody, anybody.
I understand my opinion won’t be the popular one, but I have thoughts. You mentioned the G’s family’s lawyer was doing a good job. But is he? Because I hear from and about the G family more than I do MSM. I understand there are far more articles and photos from MSM but the G Family seems to come across the loudest. Which is fair, but if their lawyer was doing such a great job, wouldn’t the G family have a better understanding of how the justice system works? Because right now it feels like they don’t understand how it works. I don’t like how the G family is almost borderline threatening to go to ADA County to get support in that community. Does this come off as possible jury tampering to anyone in the legal field? Because as a defense attorney, which I am not, I would be paying attention to their words right now. And if their lawyer was doing such a fine job, those statements wouldn’t be made every time we see them on NewsNation. For the record, I think Kohberger is guilty. But I also believe in the sixth amendment and as a lawyer, their guy should as well. And it doesn’t seem that way. Just what I’m grabbing from this whole thing.
Goncalves is acting like a mobster, threatening everyone. I don't think BK is guilty, but that's besides the point. If Goncalves keep tainting the jury, BK will walk. If he's hellbent on wanting BK to get the DP, he should stop tainting the jury.
@@LDiamondz completely agree. I just don’t agree with the consensus that he’s doing that family any favors considering how many statements they’ve released (the G Family) that has legitimately made legal experts, lawyers and the likes cringe a bit.
Fully agree with everything you’ve said. I am also curious, is he their lawyer or their Victim’s advocate. Can those be the same thing, because why do they need an actual lawyer, with all due respect to them they are not a direct party in this case. They are not the prosecution or a part of their team, even if they would like to think they are. And I would hope that any good decent lawyer would be working to explain that to them, that they do not control the prosecution, that they can not control the proceedings even if they don’t go the way they want them to. Defendants are entitled to things in this country and that has to mean something even if you believe they are guiltier than sin. That talk about trying to convince the prosecution of the way to do things and the way they talk about building support in wherever the case moves to rubs me the wrong way. I feel for them, I do. I get they are grieving, but that doesn’t mean the wishes override the defendant’s rights and its concerning that the way they speak implies that they think it should (Might not be what they mean, but it’s what it sounds like).

Their grief has blinded them to the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" Their attorney needs to reign them in so they don't taint the new jury pool. Honestly, the more the family talks, the less sympathy I have. It's not about just them. They are not the prosecutor, the judge, the investigators and they have been the catalyst for raising doubt for me. A suit is your problem? Get over it. Every defendant should appear in normal attire in public because they are presumed innocent. They also contacted potential jurors. Why? They complain about everyone and everything and are their own worst enemies. Just my opinion. We have a whole trial to get through still and the state delays delays delays.
They’re their own worst enemy. If their daughter was the only victim, have at it, but she wasn’t. I believe their opinions are becoming louder because the States evidence has become much weaker.
I couldn't agree more. I don't really follow this case much but these 2 rub me the wrong way for some reason. I don't want to be an a-hole about people who've lost their child in the most horrific way but i just feel like they should sit back and let the professionals do their jobs I don't get the feverish desire for pre trial defendants being dragged into court looking like Hannibal Lecter. Where I'm from, all defendants wear their own clothes, they aren't shackled etc if they're detained before trial they'll be taken in by prison officers or security but they don't look like a prisoner
I'm pretty sure that what he means by the DNA on the sleeve is the DNA on the sheath under Madison's leg. I don't think this is new information I think that's what he meant but he just related in different words. The sheath that had the DNA as I recall was partially under Maddie's leg and covered partially by the comforter of i remember correctly.

They do not seem interested in actual justice and being sure that they even have the genuine perpetrator. Their behavior is understandable and I empathize with their pain but their influence, desire to deny Kohberger's rights and follow the legal process, and potential manipulation and jury tampering is disturbing and inappropriate
Yes, you may be right about this. Though, I can't imagine how I would feel, or behave, or what I'd do if I were in their shoes. I might be even worse, who knows? Isn't it their attorney's job to steer them in the right direction? Maybe he's got a lot to do with how they're thinking about this. Maybe this is keeping them sane, while they grieve. Something to really be passionate about. Even if it seems a bit misguided or petty to some.
I try to think like I'm on the jury so-- yes, he should wear a suit, he's not been convicted. Absolutely in a more appropriate and larger county but not far from the victim's family (that wouldn't be fair to them). Adios, Judge Judge- this case needs a more experienced one in this type of case. If Kohberger is guilty? I truly want the ruling to STICK. I'd imagine the victim's families really does too. It IS taking so long... 😥
In many places the defendant is in a prison/ jail jumpsuit for all court hearings up until the actual trial. They are in a suit during the actual trial only. Perhaps the family feels he's getting preferential treatment, because of that. They did go along with it in the beginning. Why should it bother them now, then?
It’s not taking any longer than other cases. Look at Sarah Boone. She’s been in prison for four years, now awaiting trial. It should not be a consideration how convenient the venue is for the victim's family. It should be only a consideration in the interests of justice. A victim's family doesn't need to attend a trial, n besides, nowadays they don't need to anyways bcz of tech.
I find them obnoxious. I thought their lawyer was there to explain things to them. Other than that, what makes this victims' family more important than ANY OTHER victims' family in the entire country. So many families don't even get a day in court because they didn't catch the killer(s)
Goncalves family, God bless, and I cannot fathom the pain from all this. But if one of you were on trial for some horrific crime, would you be arguing for your own case to be pushed like you've been pushing this one? Rhetorical question.
I do not. believe that (initially) John Judge had any idea how complicated this case was going to continue to grow bigger and bigger.. Eventually, he came to his senses and decided this trial is going be alot bigger than I ever assumed. There is no choice for me but to throw it out to Supreme Court to decided the who, what, when and where.
It's completely inappropriate for a victim's family to insert themselves into an investigation and into the justice process. They truncated an incomplete investigation, and I don't think they care who is convicted, as long as someone is. It makes me wonder about their motives. What exactly are they trying to control and why?

None of the other families are talking and it’s clear the Gonclaves aren’t the spokespeople for the families. He has a right to a fair trial and they need to be on the receiving end of a gag order.
I don't know what the problem is here. I totally believe the Bryan Kohberger walked into 1122 King Road and gruesomely murdered four victims (two on one floor, and two on another floor), left two survivors, and the two survivors didn't hear enough of what was happening to be motivated to call 911. I also believe the two survivors didn't notice the intense smell of blood and bodily fluids that would have resulted from such a brutal massacre. And besides, I can't tell you how many times I have heard people playing with their dogs and wondered if they were actually being gruesomely murdered with a knife. There's a lot of overlap in the sounds. And the people who are criticizing DM just need to back off. I mean, yeah, she did go right out after the murders and got tattoos of the murder victims' initials on her arm and took to social media to show it off. So, what if she wasn't rattled by the fact that she crossed paths with the individual who gruesomely murdered her friends, knowing that he had not been apprehended and might circle back and eliminate her as a surviving eyewitness? Most people would just shrug their shoulders as she apparently did. I applaud her. And I totally believe Bryan just happened to leave a knife sheath behind with a trace amount of his DNA on the snap of the sheath without leaving any of his DNA anywhere else at the crime scene, and without inadvertently taking any evidence from the crime scene with him and leaving said evidence in his car, office, or residence. This is totally believable! And just for the record, I would like to say that the two plain-clothed police officers who were on Taylor Avenue (200 feet from 1122 King Road) conducting a bogus "alcohol offense" stop right around the time several phone calls were being made from the phones of MM and KG to JD's phone were not involved with the murders. It was just a total coincidence. It's also a total coincidence that the bogus "alcohol offense" stop the two officers made was conducted in the EXACT location of MM's discarded black coat. Not only that, but it was a total coincidence that one of the officer's turned his bodycam on for the bogus "alcohol offense" stop a minute after the last call from KG's phone to JD's phone. And even though the police initially stated the murders occurred between 3 AM and 4 AM, I believe it's just a total coincidence that the police shifted the time of the murders to 4 AM - 4:20 AM after someone obtained the body cam footage from the bogus "alcohol offense" stop and circulated it on the internet. And I don't care what anyone says, but I believe it's totally a coincidence that one of the officers on Taylor Avenue just happened to be the officer who showed up at 1122 King Road in August of 2022 for a noise complaint, and that he just happened to snap a picture of KG's ID while he was there. These are all just coincidences. And I don't want to hear any more whining from people about the fact that the PCA for the arrest of Bryan Kohberger lacked any damning and irrefutable evidence against him. The vast majority of PCAs are highly theoretical and fictional and very rarely mention damning evidence at all. It's really not needed, because an arrest of an individual (especially for 2-3 years) isn't that big of a deal. Besides, do you really need that type of stuff if it goes before a judge that is willing to take a bribe or is perhaps involved with money laundering and drugs that are linked to the case? Just saying.
They’re convicting a man before he’s been proved guilty!! The way they’re goin about things they could mess up the entire trial!! The judge should have moved this trial much earlier
It was politically unpopular in Moscow, and that always counts for something.
OTOH, I know several people that live there, including a professor, and this is _the_ subject of conversation.
That would have required a decision.
I heard it's idaho law that a judge can't move a trial until prosecution or defense files a motion of change of venue. That didn't happen until recently from AT
I understood that until a motion is filed to change venue, it can't be changed
The judge couldn't unilaterally move the trial. The defense had to file a motion to start the process that led to him be able to decide whether to move it.
Steve and his wife were interviewing jury pools in Moscow - this is insane. Don’t they want to make sure the correct guy does time? A fair trial needs to happen for that. Judge needs to put a stop to this else they will also taint jury pools in ADA County and this case will get delayed

And that "mountain of evidence" against him being sure to follow the prosecutor and his case to Boise. That's if WT goes along to wherever.

@AngusKart imagine if they interfere to the point where the case gets dismissed because they can't seat a jury.

I think the family is being unrealistic about expecting Kohlberger to attend court in orange. What would be more inflammatory?
The case gets tossed before trial.
Why does she say "omg we're loosing control" at the change of county courts?? She has never even considered the possibility this man may not be the true perpetrator. She convicted BK the second she saw him and no looking back. Even Steve considered other possibilities....Shes too emotional and unreasonable IMO...
@@Wendy-Williams-NC they never had control. They aren't in charge of anything. What are they losing control of? A tainted jury?
Perfectly said.
Yep, absolutely!
Well said!
💯
Maybe their attorney has a lot to do with how they are approaching everything. Your attorney is a great influence on how you see things.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the reason that this trial has to be moved, it's important that BK gets fair trial...???
I think when Steve says "on the sleeve" he's referring to the sheath.
IMO the state doesn’t have the proof as they are trying to frame BK. This case runs deep & I feel these parents are hiding something
They’re their own worst enemy. If their daughter was the only victim, have at it, but she wasn’t. I believe their opinions are becoming louder because the States evidence has become much weaker.
I couldn't agree more. I don't really follow this case much but these 2 rub me the wrong way for some reason. I don't want to be an a-hole about people who've lost their child in the most horrific way but i just feel like they should sit back and let the professionals do their jobs
I don't get the feverish desire for pre trial defendants being dragged into court looking like Hannibal Lecter. Where I'm from, all defendants wear their own clothes, they aren't shackled etc if they're detained before trial they'll be taken in by prison officers or security but they don't look like a prisoner
Same.
Yeah, I guess you never lost a loved one to a brutal murder. Get real.

Thank you Peter. You are the best explaining these things.
Yes, knife sleeve... I got what that meant
She’s just now getting her own lawyers(yes that is partly her fault)her case will start in October. Look at the Dan Markel case, it’s been a decade since he was murdered, and they’re just now getting around to prosecuting Wendi’s mother Donna. Charlie, who actually paid the money was only convicted last year.
I wonder if he meant sheath instead of sleeve.
I do not. believe that (initially) John Judge had any idea how complicated this case was going to continue to grow bigger and bigger.. Eventually, he came to his senses and decided this trial is going be alot bigger than I ever assumed. There is no choice for me but to throw it out to Supreme Court to decided the who, what, when and where.
It's called jury tampering
Not until there is actually a jury it isn't.
They have my support!! ❤🙏 From Boise/Caldwell
It's completely inappropriate for a victim's family to insert themselves into an investigation and into the justice process. They truncated an incomplete investigation, and I don't think they care who is convicted, as long as someone is. It makes me wonder about their motives. Great show tonight kiddo. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Love the sarcasm!
Also, just a coincidence that the murder house was pulled down before a would be Jury could visit it if needed.
