The boats are built by the company I work for in Lockport Louisiana. You should see the building process. It's unreal to see them put together in just 10 weeks.

Nice video Joey. I wonder what the naming convention is for the newest Coast Guard commissioned ship's. There was an info placard mounted in one part of the tour about Richard. Maybe it had something.
The naming of Coast Guard ships varies but typically they are named after classic historical cutters, secretaries of transportation, revenue cutter service directors, and famous Coast Guardsmen. The Sentinels are named after distinguished Coasties who performed above and beyond their duties in rescues, law enforcement activities, etc. Not sure what this cutter's namesake did, but likely has a very famous story. The first ship of the class was named for BM Bernard Webber who captained the CG 36500 motor life boat and saved 30 some sailors from the freighter Pendleton when she broke up in the middle of a nor'easter in the 50s.

Dude. Ships don't have stairs and they don't have rooms. It's ladders and compartments. They also don't have floors, walls or ceilings (decks, bulkheads and ceilings). Before you become a Coastie you have to learn the language.

Give never seen anything but pictures of giant marine engines but they look to have engine blocks larger than some peoples trailor homes. Probably make for a terrible place to live inside of but I doubt ID have to worry about a tornado flipping it over lol.
